I thought the possibility of importing a car greater than 10 years (without a gift/blue permit) legally was next to impossible. Dont think the AA of New Zealand would know anything about Import/Expor laws in SL. Good Stuff.. I want to get into this, but haven't got any good mate around who`s interested at the moment. Who`m would you usually go with? Got a usual gang? or are a member of some 4WD club? How about you start with cleaning that engine bay dude? Me no expert but that motor is not well known as a base for performance mods since it`s a 3stage vtec-e designed for economy. There are some info on Turboing this engine on the net but IMHO that`s a waste and asking for trouble. It i were you I would invest on other stuff (light weight alloys with good rubber, suspension tune to improve handling, etc.. ), leave that engine as it is an be happy. If you are really serious and got the money, do a "K" series motor swap (there are high output "B" series motors as well, these are mainly DOHC, but this series is quite old, not sure about availability of a good specimen). P.S. Whatever you do, don't just throw in high flow filters and performance exhausts and shit without doing a proper ECU remap. Without a remap, chances are that you`ll might even get less performance with those.

I`m pretty sure you meant to say "Import". But as common sense suggests, if there was a way to import a 15 year old ae110 people won`t be able to demand 2.3M for one locally now would they? Prices are high because you simply cant import 15 year old junk into SL legally/profitably.

hmmm.. interesting, don`t have a clue why things would get turned on randomly because of an electrical short. Could it be a CAN bus module gone haywire due to a short somewhere?? Dont know whether these van`s has got any sort of CAN bus control modules.

Have you checked the battery terminals? Could be a simple loose connection at the terminals as well.

I am guessing about USD 20k - 25k Don`t thinks there`s any EK coupe`s in SL though. I could be wrong. Nice build. Personally, I just cant make up my mind to start on a project to sell and loose a ton of cash few years down the line. Some dudes are brave.
