my fondness for the 500 abarth is mostly due to the fact my mom had a 500 and my uncle owned a strada abarth. not that i've ever been in them cos this was even before i was born. but its those family stories you hear on get togethers. like how my mom would get in the car with all of her 5 siblings or how my uncle would race other bigger engined italian cars down an autostrada. so i always had a fascination for those 2 badges but emphasizing on what you said i agree the mini is a fantastic thing to drive. but marketting wise these 2 cars dont fall into the same category. i think the only reason why we are comparing them is cos they are revivals of two legendary icons. but whats important here is this. the mini was always with us. whereas the 500 was killed off many years ago. so u never missed the mini. but whereas with the 500 i got a warm fuzzy feeling when i first saw the trepiuno concept back in 2003 which didnt happen when i saw the new mini its not only that. the mini was always the obvious choice. and in more ways the better machine. but because its under the shadow of the mini the 500 is a lot more appealing to me. its just a personal thing

i'm sure about the others mate. but i always had a soft spot for little fwd hot hatchbacks. and i think the 500 abarth is quite cool. ok, i could do without the chequred roof and i'd rather have gunmetal wheels over the white one cos those look too japanesey. but i'm glad abarth is back and like how the legendary 500 colloaborated with it in such a pukka package. i'm not challenging you in any way mate but u should try taking a tiny fwd hatch with a good chassis through a super narrow twisty off camber back road. even a 1.4 peugeot 306 will put a smile on your face

white & matte. thats gonna be quite a task maintaing them mate. what colour is your car and white size are you upgrading to? if its the the civic i suggest you stick some 14" or 15" lightweights
