  1. "Tata Manza has some of the most luxurious features like a 2 DIN music system which supports USB, AUX and Bluetooth connectivity"... new definition of luxury :)

uh it is.. i was going through a honda city catalog and the top of the range options include 'sunroof, chrome door handles, usb/aux, and alloy wheels'

its because the shitty, manza and a few other cars cater completely to the asian markets. we asians don't need much in the way of bells and whistles really. i mean, why else does the avanza, and now that new suzuki, along with the mahindra 7 seater all come with dual a/c but little else.

  2. It's time to get a new friend. Dude, do u think Toyota introduced Allion because Carina was a failure model? All cars go through their product life cycles and eventually other products take over. This is what happened with Kelisa and Viva. FYI, both are based on Daihatsu Mira. Kelisa is based on L700 series Mira and Viva is based on L275 series. Some of the spares are interchangeable between Kelisa/Viva and their corresponding Mira counterparts, but not all of them are.
  3. Is it just me or did the forum just get transformed into something nicer looking?
  4. U won' find an Fb15 or 110 english numbered car in that range. So u r pretty much stuck with familia or city, unless u want tO look at other options. Familia is the better of the two.
  5. To my understanding, the general impression of Mbsl is pretty bad in this forum. Although I've never been with aviva, I heard they r pretty professional. I stick to a couple of other companies because of personal contacts so I never had any dealing with Aviva.
  6. Seriously do u believe in the odometer reading? What u need to do first is to think about your requirements and then decide which car to go for.
  7. yes. Thank u. Sorry for calling u keyboard hero, Mr. Keyboard+google hero.
  8. first of all u also need to check with the lessor on which insurance companies they accept. U can search the forum about insurance companies.
  9. My suggestion is to have a proper vetting process for all new sign ups. Perhaps an sms or a simple phone call based verification will do. And some of us can volunteer our services there. That way, we wont have keyboard heroes who hide behind the anonymity of the web and play schwazenegger. This will prevent keyboard heroes from signing up to diss somebody or the other. if you ban them, they will just sign up again and again using different ids. If u enforce post counts, they will just post garbage.
  10. Irrespective of who the lessor is, what u need to do is ask the following questions, not just the interest rate. 1. If i am to go for an early settlement, what additional charges do i have to pay? 2. If the central bank interest rate changes, what will happen? 3. If my repayment gets late by 1 day, what will be the interest? 4. What r the criteria for delinquency as per bank definitions? 5. Can i get insurance from the company i want?(be strict on this ) I also suggest getting everything they promise, in writing. I had a terrible experience with HSBC. Almost took them to courts and that had them begging at my feet.
  11. WIth the risk of being frowned upon, may I ask why the Insight needs expensive synthetic oil? Wouln't it work fine with a mineral oil?
  12. just saw an alfa giulietta. it's bloody gorgeous.

  13. R u talkingabout fiesta or focus for that price? I thought fiesta was much lower. U need to ask them about stocks dude. Tell them u want one tomorrow itself and its deal or nothing. Im sure they will find one.
  14. Did they mess around with the idle screws while tuning? If so, u just need to get them adjusted. AFAIK playing with idle screws is something that shouldn't be done. My other suspicion is a malfunctioning cooling fan. You probably got a two-speed fan which runs at a lower speed and doesn't provide sufficient cooling. However, when the AC is on, the fan works at a higher speed and provides enough cooling for the car to run smoothly. If this is the problem, a workaround would be to get an electrician replace the fan or get it to work faster even when the AC is off. But please wait for some more opinions from experienced members of the forum.
  15. Yawwnnnnnnnnnn.... got better things to do than arguing about this... And if what you are saying here is true.... don't u think u got bigger things to worry about, than temperature coefficient of petrol and the savings u get out of pumping early in the morning etc. etc. ? So if u think u are going to save by following the 'best practices' given in this mail, please go ahead. After all, its neither my car nor my petrol.
  16. Do read the post by Peri just above yours. That should explain it. If it's still incomprehensible, I'll explain it in simple English. Edit: I got numbers mixed up in my original post and it was corrected earlier
  17. Some people will believe anything, if it's in writing! Some of these 'valid' points (3 and 1) will help you save a few cents. While points 4 and 2 are utter rubbish.
  18. My recommendation is Ford Focus (made in Spain) if u are ok with a manual. It was around that price when I checked last time. Ford Fiesta (Thailand) is also within your budget. Try calling Future Automobiles 011 551 1111 Does this look suit your criteria for good looks?
  19. Will have to stop at KY because KZ is already allocated to those three wheeled chinese junkpiles.
  20. The predecessor of this model didn't have a grille (or shell as we call it). When this model came out, people started calling it the 'shell model' and although its successors also had the front grille, the 'shell model' name is now stuck with this model.
  21. Do I see a subtle message from Cali to JD there?
  22. does that give u an indication about the experience of forum members with Duet?
  23. My whole point is if u had a quarter tank of petrol ('first line') and even if the guys in the shed pumped zilch, still it should take you more than 40 km. Hell... 4 litres ought to take u more than 40km and that's like 600 rupees of petrol! U may have developed an issue with the airflow sensor or something so u might wanna get it checked. (Have never used an FB14 so I'm just making a guess here).
  24. u mean to say that their cheating is so good, they can even fool your car's fuel indicator?? Get off it dude... and get your car checked.
  25. There was an ad in the paper last week and Panda was quoted 1.59 Million. Check out Micro Cars website for details Viva with ABS and Airbags would be around 26. Check out Unimo Enterprises website for details. There's a long waitlist for Viva though.
