  2. I think in normal road with average stop and running conditions there is a big impact on your car, specially if tire is rather new. But if its travel larger distance in expressway there can be an impact or some sorta breaking issues. Not an expert advise i'm just guessing here.
  3. Yeh he is doing it at his home. Project start about month ago. My cousin, I asked him to join here.
  4. Ha ha welcome bro. What a great 1st post to mark your AL forum entrance.

      Wow congratulations. Keep us posted.

  6. I've been always using Nokia, then HTC and now the iPhone. Always used a screen guard but never used a rubber or leather protective cover, because I don't want to lose the original feel of the phone. None of the phone had issues you said. However I am extremely careful user of the phones.
  7. 4. Buy Nokia 920/925 *1 - If you don't want to use a protective case and make phone bulky *2 - If iPhone is too small comparing to large S3 *3 - If you don't worry too much about OS and think anything from Samsung is the best. Just check youtube for "Lumia 920 knife and hammer test"
  8. machan how you get them shipped here? Any special courier?
  9. You mean a car harem? <blockquote class='ipsBlockquote'data-author="Charith H Jayasinghe" data-cid="248334" data-time="1380278005"><p> That's great dude. you have so many celebrities. Like an Anthahpura (don't know English term).</p></blockquote>

  11. this is great.. I hope you don't mind sharing this info in other social media .. just to educate my gullible friends over there?
  12. Setting up a CCTV can be done by your self, however depend on your wiring skills the job will looks more neat. I have a contact who do it as a profession. However for 6 camera's only the 200K is little too high. The camera's will have price range from 4500 - 12500, based on wireless, ip, outdoor features. I think you'll have to have 8 channel DVR, because I'm not sure abt 6 channel DVRs available or not. Anyhow as stated above a good security system will be much useful. There are systems that has infrared scanning, door locks and siren with SMS alert facility. most important thing you wanna be watchful is the battery life of bluetooth based sensors. Most systems will require battery replacement in one to two years time.
  13. Well you can fade out any identifiable info from mails. Because now you put the sellers details, location and even the vehicle number in subject it'll be fare by the sellers point of view to add more proof for your claim.
  14. +1 .. there will always be cosmetic modifications, some will like and some wont. I am into to .. keep it stock or gring some juice out of it.. but I have a soft spot for tasteful cometic mods too.
  15. Guys I'm in the process of gathering both knowledge and equipments to maintain my car. I am searching for a used "trolley jack". A brand new one will be around 30K. Do we have used ones to buy? If so what are the good places to search for in Kandy / Kurunegala and Colombo.

Yeh correct. I already start working on my car and family cars. Learning every time I took cars to garage. Hoping to start it in Kandy as I alraedy have the land. @mahesh I'll check.

  17. In Sri Lanka don't trust any vehicle seller not matter what certificate they produce, what mileage they claim. Inspect the car by your self or someone who has knowladge to do so. Take all actions you need to make sure what you get is worth the amount you pay. Its no biggie that JAAI certificates and all most every car sells here has forged odometre readings. Since you specify the perticular car seller you need to provide solid evidence too. Why don't you upload copies of original mail conversation you had and copy of the forged ceritificate, which you provided to JAAI in Japan. I'm not affiliate to the seller here, but this is some serious Sh*t for car seller and good example to general public.

    E30

Guys saw this two E30s on AL and I noticed by going through some of the old ads the 15 Sri, first one came with Carb version and had all 4 disk breaks on it. Its one year old its having power mirrors and power shutters as I see it. And the 2nd one doesn't seems have power shutters & mirrors and I dont know what breaks and engine it got. Both cars don't have the original steering, but put a M Tech according to the ads. i'm not worrying too my about mirrors and shutters. However do you guys know about these cars, and are they originally came with all 4 disk breaks? I've been searching E36s but now had to settle with E30. Below two cars seems to be in good shape in appearance. http://www.autolanka.com/ad.asp?ID=131959 http://www.autolanka.com/ad.asp?ID=127980
  19. Informed my cousin to joing AL and open a thread on his 1969 Hilman hunter restore project. Work started few weeks back.

  20. Thanks for sharing your experience. This was new to me. Below article explains technical side of it in simple terms. http://tires.about.com/od/understanding_wheels/a/hub-centric-vs-lug-centric-wheels.htm
  21. Yes AFAIK copy of the valid revenue license need to paste in the windscreen.
  22. First let us know if your water level in radiator gating low? AFAIK If your water circulation happen properly any air bubbles that trap inside should come automatically unless you don't have a leak some where. If water level doesn't drop and no engine is not heating I don't think you have major Air bubble problem. However if you hear it in side the dashboard, one possibility would be the A/C heater circuit valve. If the valve doesn't operate properly the water continuously go through the circuit and once engine is off you can hear the sound it returns. I have experienced it in my 121.
  23. Talking about the So called Launch again... what of shit is this. Got a break through product and talk only about headlights and front parking sensor rest of the time allocated for gossiping.
  24. What crosswind point is extremely valid point. I don't know if I said this in forum before, but one of my cousin is in this chemical import business. Chemicals they import goes from detergents, food, rubber, plastic, cosmetics and everything you can imagine under the sun. Even the chocolate biscuits or lemon puff we eat has artificial flavor.. according him most Sri Lankan companies import lowest grade or cheapest products in the market. Imagine you bath daily using a shampoo, but content of it is untested, low grade chemical. And you end up even having some cancer or something So you die not even knowing what hit you.
  25. I never recommed to use products that can be used as tyre shine for interior, specifically the dash and plastic pannels. As I obsearved tyre shine doen't only remove dirt from your tyre, but small reaction with rubber cause that shining brandnew look of the tyre. We can't get same look if we remove dirt completely using a brun and soap. Using such product on interior for long period will fade the original look of the interior. If specialised interior cleaning products are out of your budget, the next best thing is water and a clean cloth. And little bit of bathing shampoo would be better option comparing to tyre shine.
