As for your last two questions, 1. Go to marine drive near Bamba railway station 2. Park your car and wait 2 minutes 3. A withered old crone will come to predict your future. 4. Ask her... The more you pay the better the answer

not much bung. deen's is proceeding with the door cards. was ironing out the details with them. i've given an ultimatum to indika. and an incentive. let's see how it goes. i depserately need the car now, but i'm not that desperate as to rush this. fingers crossed, i'll see some progress towards end of june. we are just 3-4 full working days away from a base coat. these people are so damned lethargic men...

they were in one big box, but each had its individual cardboard box as well. they were just being anal men. fancy looking things with slots and all no? literally "because race car" i had to pull every stunt i knew. right down to "anae aiyye, oyath rajayae sevakayek, mama-th rajayae sewkayek!"
-
a friend of mine owned an x type for an year or so and gave him more misery than anything else in the world.
-
customs is funny tho. carry some extra cash. you're shipping 4 scuff plates? that's a "commercial quantity" so expect some anal damage. if they decide to walk this path. once they tried to slap me with 88,000 tax for my brake rotors. cost of the rotors with shipping was 22,000. why? because i have imported in commercial quantities. the fact that my car has four mother huggin' wheels didn't seem to matter at all. something flashy like scuff plates. boy you're up sh!t creek without a paddle. "anae budu sir kiyaagena nawila passen passata yanna" i'm not trying to discourage you i've imported hundreds of things from ebay. but general rules of etiquette: 1. expect the worst 2. be very humble, and patient and nice to them. do NOT be a smartass. 3. calmly and firmly argue your point. i did, and tax was reduced to 10,000. 4. dont' try to fool them with fake valuations. tac is supposed to be 44% of the price for non commerical parts

so based on that logic, it takes you 5.88 liters to go to galle from colombo, if going at 100kmph, and 4.87 liters if at 85kmph. that's 1001 cc of petrol. for Rs. 170/- moreover, you'd go slow on the expressway, get in other people's way, to save Rs. 170 every time you do a 100km. now you know why the term "thel hinganna" was coined in the first place. in comparison, my car does 13kmpl on the E01. that's 7.69 liters (my god, no?) which is 2.82 liters more than yours per 100km my car cost me 1.4 million. yours cost you 5.2 million? so, in essencse, that's 3,800,000 rupees to save 3 liters of fuel per 100km on expressways. so let's assume for the sake of argument, that we run everyday to galle and back, that's 200km round trip. every single day. per trip, that's i spend 964.40 rupees more than you on that. per month, that's 28,933.20. 347,198.40 per year. i bet you're nodding your head now going "eika thamai mama kiwwe" bear with me a little longer. like i said, 3,800,000 rupees you've spent extra. so, that means 10.94 years it would take you to recover that extra money yuo've spent, to save fuel. this is without adjusting for inflation, granted. but i think you get the drift. so let's adjust for inflation. http://www.ceypetco.gov.lk/History.htm according to that, petrol 95 octane went up from Rs. 67/- to Rs. 170/- in the last ten years. taking that as a rough guide (im' not good at maths) let's say Rs. 10/- per year. so, let's say petrol kept increasing at Rs. 10 per year. here's what it would cost me to to pump 2,030.40 extra liters for our annual excursion: first year 345,168 @ 170/l second year: 365,472 @180/l third year: 385,776 @ 190/l etc etc fourth: 406,080 fifth: 426,384 sixth: 446,688 seventh: 466,992 eighth: 487,296 ninth: 507,600. so by nine years i've pumped a total of: 3,837,456. driving every DAY, to and from galle on the E01. for 9 years. so, like VVTi said, just enjoy the drive (if that's possible without getting a haemorrhoid every time the econo meter drops) and forget about the figures man. life is too short anyways.

Power Folding Side Mirror Problem
Komisiripala replied to mustu521's question in Mechanical problems
i have the exact same problem in my honda. earlier both retractors weren't working. then i replaced the control switch, and lo and behold, passenger side retracts after one or two failed attempts, and the drivers' motor runs freely. i did som ereading on this and (at least for honda) it runs on plastic cogs, which care likely to break if osmeone forces the mirror open etc. you need those plstic cogs replaced (as do i. haven't got aroundto it yet) i know a guy in bellanwila, auto electrician called malinga. PM me for contact details. he's really good at this sort of thing, but not cheap. he recently fixed my antenna (not fully retracting/extending) now it runs like clockwork, but 1200/- for a smiliar repair. highly recomemnded tho. the workshop is heaven. can't beleive he's a sri lankan mechanic....
