  1. Taken from Extreme 4x4 - ISUZU 4x4 club of Sri Lanka FB page..
  2. Nice..!! Are going to do your self or taking it to a shop?
  3. I love this video on 1990 LS400 better
  4. Atleast for me 6ply Load C A/T tire is a good balance between comfort and toughness for offroad use. I think Load D or E would be too uncomfortable and would be overkill unless you have a heavy load or pulling a camper trailer. Not an expert, @tiv can advice.
  5. Knowing that we have improved our ambulance service, But wish we have a system like this also; On a side note its great if we all can get training from the red-cross for CPR and First aid and renew it ideally every year. Atleast with my experience I know one IT company that we can sign up for this training for free. Trust there are other companies who do the same. And I'm sharing this bcos its a concern for me as my parents doesn't live close to me where I can run in case of an emergency.
  6. Cycle Bazzar in Borella was my go to place since I was a Kid. Me and my cycle buddy has very good experience with Kenstar and Lumala and both still in perfect condition for decades. We just service it from a local cycle repair shop and thats all. Only thing replaced was tubes and couple of times with brake shoes, cables (due to lot of abuse on brakes by myself) and once with gear change cable. I understand that there are new brands available now but sadly the old bikes are still working perfect and never was a requirement to buy new.
  7. Exactly what I was thinking. I think oct95 is a must for them and I would suggest only to pump them from a known good gas station. I hope simple things like air filter is checked? Engine oil dip stick is checked? And oil is at the full level and not more than the full level. Does not smell petrol on dip stick. (What i'm trying to tell is that to check for oil and fuel contamination problem.)
  8. 8ply? ? That’s Load D Off-road tire sidewall. Not sure what construction of that 8 ply side wall has. From what I’ve seen even with Land cruiser 200 series getting 4 ply Dunlop Grantrec 285/60R18 tires from dealership.
  9. Sure we are going out of the topic now. But on this CVT topic, what manual says vs this video from toyota seems confusing.(found another video from a toyota dealership also say that S is sport.) However higher trips of Corolla seems to have a 'Sport' button and instead of 'S' on the shifter it has 'M' + & -. (haven't driven that version though).
  10. No bro, this is not JDM. This is from 2018 Toyota Corolla CVT.
  11. Here's what manual said. Just glanced through the manual but could not find any driving instructions of using S or B. Will share if I find that in user manual.
  12. Found this on FB..?
  13. Damn...!! Running without paying???
  14. Bro, As per my understanding the S mode is for sports and B is more like 'slope'. at least in below example in CVT of Corolla in 'S' mode it revs higher even when not needed like on a flat surface and in 'B' mode it try to give more engine breaking on a slope. However I did not feel like holding gear like a regular automatic transmission. I too felt the burning smell on 'S' mode if you drive like mad which you get on any other car. As for holding the gear if you have an old school transmission like shown in pic 2 it can limit the gear. If you put it to 'S' and use '-' to select 3 it will shift only up to 3. If you select 1 it would not shift to 2, will keep on 1. as for 'Madhawa007' problem I would say show it to a family/your regular mechanic to see if its normal burning smell you get driving fast on mountain drives or if there is anything wrong or low on oil or any other issue. For that whistle noise may be ask someone to rev and check the pipe going from air filter box, couple be a leak.
  15. In terms of tires it depends of the side wall. If the tire is standard load it will be a soft ride. But if the tire is Load C / D / E the ride gets rougher as the side walls have 6 - 10 ply.
  16. I don't have experience with Montero sport but replying since no one replied. In general converting from regular incandescent bulb to LED you don't need any conversion kit. However for headlight LED conversions there is a kit to avoid flickering. For tail lamps as long as these sockets fits I bet you don't have to do anything. Haven't heard the flickering problem for tail lamps.
  17. If you guys remember that guy opened a 4 year old thread to show his car and called everyone losers, I really wish he see this kind of threads and feel the real happiness of getting a car and the plans for future work.. ?❤️
  18. That would be good for a blog. Why not open a blog so we see pics every 2 weeks..?
  19. LooL..??? Hope to see some pics..
  20. Wow..!! 2.5hours? Lucky you.. For sure $1000 Jeep you don’t feel much pain for trail damage. And I guess yours should be those good old front and rear solid axle Jeep Cherokee? Too bad only Wrangler still have solid axels..?
  21. Disneyland Rides for petrol-heads
  22. Yes that’s correct. Here in SL we only go by those names and buy them for style commonly. But among suv community when you do a lift and changing tire sizes there is a offset number that help to do the alignment properly. Wrong offset or not changing offset will lead to many problems. Most common ball joint bush leaks. @Davy also did the same when he changed the tire size on his car. You can see the numbers on his post.
  23. May be this is bit out of topic but just thought of sharing this video which I really like.
  24. Thats true and most of the vehicles we called as SUV are not SUVs (eg - In my opinion CR-V should not be called as an SUV). One of my friend who owns a BMW X1 said that the correct term is 'Sports activity vehicle' vs Prado is a SUV where it has a body on frame construction. For paint being scratched for tree branches ones I saw a body wrap job on a Hilux.
