Ohh i love that grill.. Will not be easy to pump petrol to that 6.2L engine (hope its the same engine that you get in US). I went to a Ford showroom with a friend of mine and believe me they quoted US$10500 additional for lifted suspension..!! (Plus some more for other package items) which ended little under US$60K.. Wonder what would the price tag in SL after taxes.. But i made him buy the Toyota Tundra 5.7L (US$56K) over the F150..

I'm not sure you saw the Ford F150 or the Ford Super Duty.. Ford F150 is the regular pickup and the Ford Super Duty are huge pickups which comes with a much bigger body and of cause a bigger engine. Also; Ford Super Duty models start from F-250 to F-450. Ford Super Duty comes with 2 rear wheels version and 4 rear wheels version with 137", 142", 156", 158" and 172" wheelbases. You have engine options of 6.2L V8 petrol engine & 6.7L Turbo Diesel V8 You might even surprise that these pickups even comes with 2WD version apart from the very demanded 4WD version. Also they have 2 door, 4 door versions. Ford Super Duty F350 - Sorry if i was talking about the wrong one. If so hope you would be interest in looking videos or images of this version too. KMeeg.

Anyone interest in battery grips for your DSLR? I found a cheap Meike Battery grip and it’s been working for me quite well and even looks exactly like the Nikon Battery grip. Got it off Ebay and way cheap than Nikon. Here is a small video about it.. http://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=715591531860625&set=vb.702509986502113&type=2&theater PS - Had to do this video in English as some of my friends does not understand Sinhala.

Correct me if i'm wrong. If the transmission is CVT, if you go to an empty road and floor your foot on the gas pedal you don't see the RPM droping like a traditional automatic gear box or feel / hear the gears changing when you listem to your engine. As of i know its really hard to tell whether your vehicle is CVT or not by looking at the gear label. For Eg even velicles with gear labels P R N D & S + / - comes with both CVT and not CVT (mostly i've seen 6 speed automatic) gear boxes. Yet again i don't know speficially about EK3. I'm telling in general which could be wrong when comes to different manifactures/models.
-
You cannot tell whether its a CVT or not by seen P, R, N, D, L near the gear shift right? Not even having S and + / - will tell that its CVT right? Am i wrong? Or is this only apply to EK3? I'm saying this bcos there are vehicles with <P, R, N, D, L> , <P, R, N, D, 3, 2, L> and <S and + / - > which does not have CVT gear box.

I just bought a "Craftsman 12V Portable Inflator w/ Digital Tire Pressure Gauge Car Pump". Got a deal for US$ 19.99. Tested for few days and works well so far. Hope you guys might be interested. But look for deals otherwise it’s about US$ 40 - 50. Check deals like this - http://www.dealsofamerica.com/Craftsman-12V-Portable-Inflator-w-Digital-Tire-Pressure-Gauge/197805.htm So far in ebay its about US$ 40 - 50 - http://www.ebay.com/itm/Craftsman-12V-Portable-Inflator-w-Digital-Tire-Pressure-Gauge-Car-Pump-Portable-/181552449102?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2a455e864e Why it’s good? Easy to pump air for your vehicle on the go. And you can preset the tire pressure and it will automatically cutoff. This also comes with lot of accessories for bicycles, football / basketball, etc.. You will find more info with a search. But to start with i've been going to P#TCO for my car audio stuff and they've been doing a good job for me. Few tips if we haven't discuss earlier on DVD systems; 1. When you are fixing a DVD head-unit make you that you by-pass the parking break. Otherwise you wont be able to play DVD or Video on USB, etc.. until your parking break (hand break) is enabled. 2. Also try to search for a DVD unit with apple car play bcos it will be handy when you have an Iphone. You might even consider ones with GPS too if you are not using Car play. 3. If your car already came with a premium sound system (Eg Bose sound system) make sure the new headunit is compatible with that. BCos when you fix a 3rd party headunit with existing amp the speakers are giving a hissing noise even your volume is all the way down to 0. So make sure you check on this. 4. A minor point fixing DVD set is many buy reverse camera along with it. But make sure it is fixed on a good place without having it on a odd place which screw the look of the can and make sure the guidelines are properly set. Sometimes depending on the place you fix the reverse camera the guidelines cannot be set properly. so best thing is before fixing permanently use double tape or something and check the guidelines first. 5. If you car already came with voice activation / Phone paring feature ask the technician to try using the existing mic. BCos the mics comes with some of the head units the finish is not good. If the existing car mic cannot be used try to fix in a discrete place. Otherwise it will look a little odd. 6. Make sure all the steering controls are usable with the headunit and functioning properly. (Including phone controls.) 7. Make sure all the antennas working properly (including additional ones depending on the features like HD radio antenna, GPS antenna, etc..) Will post if i get more points. Hope these tips might help for now, KMeeg.

Ya that guy is in a total dream world.. Life won't be that easy if some one plan to work in a supermarket. On top of that buying a Nissan GTR. First thing is its not that easy to even find a super market job when you are new to the country. On top of that you don''t get 8 hours. So you have to do at least 2 jobs to survive even with a shared room. And it could get even worse where you live. If talking about cars your insurance going to be sky high when your driving licence is new and it get worse buying a sports car as your first car. But if someone get a work visa life is not going to be that tough. Specially in the field of IT you get a fairly good pay. But what ever job you do you have to pay a higher insurance at the start since your license is new. (for eg Insurance for a $ 9K used 2006 Mitsubishi Outlander could cost about $175/month for a new licensed driver) Finally all i want to tell is i didn't mean to discourage anyone. Everything is possible with better planning. But don't come thinking everything is easy from the start. Also it all depends on the field. KMeeg.

Amen to that.. Some times i put down all shutters and put A/C to max and drive until the heat is reduced. But it takes lot of time to cool compared to a light color car with light color interior. But i do find Black looks good when washed and polished.. Don't you guys agree? When its washed..

Damn.. First of all congrats for having the 60D. The price you paid will be well worth when shooting low light conditions like birthday parties and stuff indoors. To my taste pic 1 looks very nice. Nice composition to my taste.. Pic 2 look very artistic with the glare from the sun. I believe these kind of sun glare can be taken only with standard lenses and i guess the "L" grade lenses reduce glare from sun. Really like to see more pics from the place in pic2. Sound like super fun in sand.. Hope if Peri can comment on this. I guess he has lot of photography knowledge.

Sounds good.. I myself use a 141 too and pretty happy with it. As of i know the price all depends on the millage and condition right? No owner who took good care of it and company maintained would give you less than 3mil. Yet again i'm not sure. Lets wait for others to comment they might have a better understanding of the market price. On a side note i'm not too happy with the old 4 speed auto gear box vs the Axio CVT gear box and the stiff suspension compared to JDM cars. Anyways these things were discussed earlier too and wont be too hard to find. KMeeg.

It's confusing why the countries that use 'Kilometers' they say every 5000km and the countries that use 'miles' its every 5000miles. Same engine is treated different ways in different countries depending on what unit they use.. (Also to note that there are many countries that have far worse climate than SL right?) -
Top 20 vehicles for getting tickets..!!

Sanjay1111, Since you are new to the forum mind if i ask was there a particular reason to buy a 141 as your first car? Did you do some study about other cars considering points like Fuel economy, Second hand market, Convenient features included commonly, etc.. for your budget? I'm just saying until others answer your question. KMeeg.

I guess coolant is not a complected thing right? (Pls let me know if i'm wrong). Only thing i don't use is water to my radiator. The one i use was "Toyota Pre-Diluted Super Long Life Antifreeze/Coolant" for Toyota and non Toyota vehicles (All petrol engines). I didn't find any rust in radiator and the temp gauge was always in normal temp in long trips too. I normally buy this from Laughs at Dematagoda. I can't remember the exact price but as of i can remember it was a average price tag.

Never driven a Zen diesel before. Since you said its a spacious car i assume you are talking about the Zen Estilo. Am i wrong? BCos the older Zen i drove did not felt spacious but it was pretty convenient to drive as even the older models came with options like Power steering, power shutters over the Alto. But if you are talking about the Zen Estilo sure i love it. It's a very spacious car in the Maruti line up and a smooth ride compared to other cars in Maruti Lineup. On a note about Kelisa, it does not come with DVVT engine right? So wouldn't it better to go for atleast a Viva 660cc? When they initially came i got a Black one with factory fitted alloy wheels. Black look good since the mirrors and bumper is not body colored and they are black. But again i know we have discuss these in our Viva thread. May be "ruki009" can have a look at that too. KMeeg.

Live demo on bypassing slow shutter speed with a speed light.. This video was created for a friend who wanted to learn this technique on another forum. Hope this will find use full to you. . Q - So how this can be used in the subject of vehicles? A - How about a night time race event where the shutter speed will be very slow and you can use a speedlight (Flash) without distracting the competitors.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JCVkS64q1Ng

Hi Ruki009, Here is a small note until the owners & experts give their comments. On the area that you have mentioned i would prefer Alto or better Alto K10 over the Zen. Even i have driven the Estilo which is a spacious car in this line up and has a smoother ride than others. But above all i liked the Viva Elite. We have discussed a lot about Viva Elite so not going to talk about it. This is just what i think and may be wrong. I would try to extend my budget to buy a Viva and buying a Zen. Viva Elite > Zen Estilo > Alto K10 > Alto > Zen are my preferences. Sorry for not talking about your question but honestly wanted to give you a better option than the Zen which i did not like much but still falls in same budget range with a slight difference. KMeeg.
