Hi All, When i bought my 1st Viva in early 2008 they had stocks. I took home the car next day. When i odered the next one in 2011 i had to wait for almost 5 months. In 2008 when i call them for an oppointment for the service i able to get the next day or day after. When i did it in 2011 i had to wait for 3 weeks. I think their customer service is getting worse now. I saw many comments in threads that their customer service is really bad when it comes to sales. With all that keep in mind the things we told in threads about the prices. When you order the car its one price and by the time when you recieve the car its another. Remember what happen to the new Elites came with the Immobiliser. When people order the price was eg 15.95 and by the time you recieve it the price is 15.95 + 25K.. You may find enough of lies that the sales ppl will tell you if you go through the 'Viva' threads.. Those who are thinking of buying this car please please go through the threads we post and then decide. Still if you decide to order, don't complain that you didn't get your car on time or didn't recieve the car at the same price they said when you order. Also please tell these things to anyone who is going to order not knowing these facts. Kmeeg.

It has more options..Hikz..
-
Wonder it was me.. Hikz.. Anyway sold both my Viva (Black KL-XXXX & White KP-XXXX). It was really a good invesment i made. They saved me a lot on fuel. And managed to sell over brandnew price.. (Well over..!!).. Sold not bcos any issue, but migrating.. I do agree Viva is really a great car for that price. no doubt abt it. Kmeeg.

Don't drink, just drive.. Save that money and be happy with your family.. -
11-12 per liter in Viva Elite 1000CC MT?? Something wrong some where bro.. Can be true for Auto, not for MT.. Another point, do you need to rev 2500 rpm? If you rev to 2500 rpm on 5th gear it will be abt 90 kmph.. u want proof? So keep your revs below 2000rpm.

That's what i was thinking.. Otherwise who on earth do such a thing to a Vios..

Hope this link will help.. http://www.valvoline.com/faqs/motor-oil/full-synthetic-motor-oil/33

You have to be really careful in the Service mate. But I still service my cars at Un^m@. Secret you need to know is "Money would do a better job" I use Valvoline SynPower for my cars (Even for my Viva Elite). But since Viva only needs about 2.5L of engine oil it wont make much difference to your bill..(As i can remember it was about rs 2K+ for engine oil)

Hi, I did seat covers for my old Viva since it came with light color seat covers. I did it from Gun@w#rd@na cushion works @ Wijerama. It cost me around 12K. But i didn't do that for the Elite since the seat covers are Dark in color and good quality. But i saw this site <http://www.cartailors.com/vehicle-seat-covers.html> which has good seat covers, its @ Dematagoda. Hope the work is good at its seen in the web site.. (For me the original covers in viva elite is fine) With regard to security systems, i dnt think its needed. I have installed S@n Lank@ security systems for my other cars because they didn't came with security system. (I've installed 'Steel M@te' basic one which cost around 12K). In order to install this they require to cut some wires under the steering wheel. Sure they do a good job. But since Viva Elite comes with Smart keys, i don't think it will be a good idea to do this kind of wire cutting. I didn't do this for the old Viva either because i'm pretty satisfied with the original security system. Rgs, KMeeg.

1. Mud flaps - Don't fix mud flaps to Viva Elite..! I own Viva Elite and Viva (Older version), and i have fixed mud flaps to my old car which was a wrong decision. Because the rear mud flaps tend to brake when you go over humps with ppl in rear seat. The other point is you cannot just fix Mud flaps to a Viva, you need to make some cuts in front mud flaps to fix properly. Rear mud flaps no issue. If you plan to fix mud flaps make sure you have spare set at home, so that when one breaks you can fix a new one at home.. So i did not fix mud flaps to Viva Elite. Also since Viva Elite has the body kit your bodywork is mostly protected. I actually removed the mud flap sets from my old Viva, otherwise i will have to keep on changing. (If you really want to buy them, they are available @ Aji@h mot@rs - next to S@n L2nka Darly road, price around Rs1250) 2. 3M carpet - 3M carpets are comparatively very expensive. As i can remember it cost around 15K for each Viva. But since i'm using Viva only for office traveling they do not get dirt too much. But when you go for other places where you might get your carpets Mud and dirt, 3M carpets are not the best option. If you need an option for multipurpose option, go to a car carpeting place and install Velvet carpet to the whole floor board and on top of that put a set of bucket carpet set. It cost around 7K for the Corrolla. I think it will be about 4K-5K for a Viva. Its very easy wash the mud and will protect the original floor carpet. Without the velvet floor carpet i think its no use to have bucket carpet set. PS - I have seen 3M carpets in Darly road shops but i really doubt the quality of them.. Rgs, KMeeg.

Hi Nuwan, I've seen Mud Covers in most of D@rly R@ad shops. They've cost you around Rs1250, but they are of poor quality and they are all black in color. So you will have to paint them to suite your Silver color AXIO.. PS - Better not settle for those cheap ones.. Rgs, KMeeg.

Even i was looking for Rain-X but could not find. Do you know a place to buy Rain-X in SL. I know its available in e-Bay. But its great if to buy somewhere in SL. Also where can you find armorall windshield washer fluid?? (I tried in Kleenp@rk - Maradana, Ke%ls & C@rgils around Peliyagoda - K'goda.. ) Another point about ordinary windshield washer fluid, i'm not comfortable with concentrated fluid, its great if we can buy 'Ready-Made' windshield washer fluid...

The Facts About Glass Cleaners Many glass cleaners contain ammonia, which is a great grease cutter but has some significant disadvantages when it comes to cars. Ammonia can release dangerous fumes that should not be inhaled, especially in enclosed areas like the inside of your vehicle. Chemically, ammonia acts to dry out plastic, rubber, vinyl, and leather. Most significantly, in sunnier climates, car owners often customize with additional non-factory tinting. Ammonia based cleaners cannot be used on tinted windows. If your current cleaner does not state “ammonia-free” or “safe for tinted windows” you should find another cleaner. Read more - http://www.autogeek.net/waterspots.html

Hi All, What do you think using Auto glass cleaner as your Windshield washer? Or do you think that Windshield washer fluid is better? I did some minor search on google but i could not find any comparison between the two (May because its a crazy idea) there are many articles on the properties of each of these separately. (You can find lot of Wiki's on each of this items separately) But can anyone talk about the possibility of using Auto glass cleaner for windshield washer. But cost factor wise it will be a crazy idea as a normal Auto glass cleaner will cost around rs.150. Facts i would like to talk about are; 1. Will Auto glass cleaner fluid cleans better than Windshield washer fluid? 2. Will Auto glass cleaner fluid harm wiper blades and other rubber items? 3. Will Auto glass cleaner fluid scratch your glass if it met mud / sandy dust? 4. Will Auto glass cleaner fluid remain stains on your windshield (ie- if you do not wipe glass cleaners properly it will have white color like stain on glass, once you wipe it of with even your hand it goes off) 5. Any other interesting fact that you can come up.... Hope this will be a valuable post for everyone.. PS - This is not about better way of cleaning your wind shield. Its about the BEST FLUID YOU CAN USE FOR YOUR WINDSHIELD WASHER.. Kmeeg.

My mechanic is in Narahenpita. As i said most of the fittings were available and the rest you have to clean them and fix. I only couldn'd find that PCV valve. But panchikawatta shops will help you to import any part. So not much of a problem. My mechanic consults experts when needed. Eg- Engine overhauld - Edir#4nha Br@th#s, Hood cover and seat covers another person, Electrical wiring an electrician, like wise. Basically you dnt have to worry about restoring a KE72.. (if you can send me a message i will give his contact number)
-
I have restored a KE72 and IMO its not that fuel efficient as the one i did was doing 9 - 10KMPL. Pulling power wise its acceptable for a 1.3L Carb engine. But not good. Not all parts are freely available, for ex i had to import a PCV valve (emmision control valve), couldn't find anywhere in panchikawatte. Even i couldn't find Reverse light covers and turn signal covers on buffer, so i cleaned existing ones and fixed but managed to get new ones for other lights even for dashboard. Another issue i have is engine tuneup wont last for a longtime, i have to do it like once in every 6 months. But once you have restored a KE72 i feel very very happy, even to look at my car in my garage while having a cup of tea... (Hik Hik Hik). But i dnt use it for everyday traveling. One other KE72 is on its way restoring. (Please note that these comments are only on my experience, there can be KE72's with better comments. So those who have better KE72's you can share ur comments aswell) Also those who like to restore KE72's i can direct them to my mechanic which he could do a good job. (This is not advertising, just a help for those who need) KMeeg.

Tell Me Ur Openion On Suzuki Alto Or Suzuki A-Star
kmeeg replied to geethsam's question in Car Buying Information
Hi, The engine noise i was talking about is; i was sitting in the rear seat and my friend was driving very smoothly, but i heard a higher engine sound compared to other cars (I mean like idle engine sound was higher), but outside noise was normal. Is it normal or something wrong with some padding or something..? (My other friend who was on the front passenger seat was bulling him saying that the Alto is Silent than this) I drove his Jap Alto only once but did not notice any abnormal noise, since it was smtime back can't remember to compare between the 2 (Alto & Passo).. Only thing i can remember was his Alto pickup was hopeless.. -
Tell Me Ur Openion On Suzuki Alto Or Suzuki A-Star
kmeeg replied to geethsam's question in Car Buying Information
Hi, Is it really worth to spend such a price for a Passo which has a Daihatsu Engine? (Daihatsu 1KR-FE DOHC 3 Cylinder 12 valves engine) (Got this info via Web) I have not driven a Passo, so i dnt knw abt the driving pleasure, But as a passenger i did not like the engine noise inside the cabin (Don't know whether this is common to all Passo's or may be a defect in my friends Passo) Anyhow in believe Passo is having a good market value and also comes with different features (Eg like intelligent key, etc..) -
Yes Sylvi. But the thing is there is no way to prove that. Even you put just water on his windscreen that effect never appears. (Tried that at office). Seems it only appears driving few minutes in rain. I feel very bad since i recommend it..

I bought dashboard bulbs from a shop near 'Technical Junction' colombo. When you drive abt 100M from Panchikawatte roundabout towards pettah on your right hand side there was a shop who sells these type of items. (Sorry can't remember the name). They had several options. like; a. Normal dashboard lights b. Single LED dashboard lights c. Four(4) LED dashboard lights d. LED bulb in colors Green, Blue, White, Amber e. They even had the tiny bulb for the cigarette lighter bulb.

New Prices for 3M Chrystaline Tint - For a Suzuki Alto Front WindScreen - 8700 Shutters - 13400 Rear WindScreen - 6800 (You guessed right, my friends car is a Suzuki Alto)
-
Hi All, Firstly sorry to bring back this old post again. One of my friend has done a 3M tint to the Windscreen (3M Christaline - Clear type tint) of his car and now he is claiming that a mysterious mist if forming on his windscreen on rainy days.. Has anybody face this issue..?? Or do you think this is a installation error?? (Works on my car but not on smone elses car)
