  1. Calm down JD..
  2. I 100% agree on this. But just check on the no of customers visit their showrooms each day. Most of them are dreaming abt their first car. So most of them are not in AL forum. So they are unaware of these kind of issues. So i think it doesn't have much effect on number of ppl getting into trouble with Un^m@. Its really great if anybody can come up with a solution to take this message to public and help them. If anybody like to publish an article in news papers i can give my support, cos i hv sm contacts at L@ke H*use. Also isn't it good to share bad experience with other agents also? For ex i have gone through bad experience with Hy*nd@i L@nk@ and T@Y@T@ L@nk@ when it comes to repairs.. Anyway i will not go it to details of them in this thread as this is abt Un^m@ customer service.
  3. Just below 2.5Lks.. (But has quite a lot of repair work to do. currently not in running condition)
  4. Hi All, Very interesting topic. I was just planning to post such a topic. I was also thinking of changing a engine. This is my case: I'll be getting a old KE72 at very cheap price with a engine that has issues. I'm planning to fix a powerful engine to this. But there are condition. KE72 SHOULD LOOK AS ORIGINAL..!! (I mean innocent looking car with a killer engine) Can anyone suggest me the best option for this. Hope you are getting my point, from out side its the original KE72 even no air intake holes but inside a engine (may be 3L or 4.5L petrol engine if possible). Do you think that i should change the diff and axl as well? (to support high speeds). Budget i'm thinking is abt 2lks for paint job and other repairs and abt 5lks for the engine modification(if possible not to exceed 5lks for engine stuff). PS - Sorry if this is a very stupid question as i dnt have mechanical knowledge..
  5. Hi All, I just bought a Bluetooth MP3 FM Modulator from 1st Cross Street Pettah. I just thought of giving a try with this little thing. It cost me Rs1200 + Rs500 for 2GB micro SD. I'm very happy with it. It connects to mobile phone via Bluetooth(Connectivity was simple as my phone is a Nokia, dnt know whether it will create issues to Blackberry and other high-end phones). You can dial either using ur phone or the remote. You can also answer calls using call button from remote or the call button in the device it self. But MP3 sound quality is not too good compared to the MP3 quality of car setup. But call quality is good. Almost same as car setup Bluetooth call quality. Does not feedback. Did not try increasing the volume at high level. But finally what i can say is its worth for 1200 rupees. Kmeeg.
  6. U like Suzuki Bandit S - 1.3L (16V DOHC)... (Will not give more info..<COOPPS..!!> If you a lucky u'll see in Colombo)
  7. I dnt think its a good idea to order this via e-bay. You might hv to go to customs to get this cleared. So best thing is to get this from a friend who is coming from USA or sm where which these things are cheaper. (Expensive in UK). If anyone know who sell this in SL pls let us know. (I need to buy 1 too). Better if you can get the brand ' COBRA'
  8. Heh hee.. True True True..
  9. I think you can find ur answer in following threads... Waiting Time For Brand New Vehicles Perodua Viva Elitenew Car
  10. Sorry for the late reply mate. Couldn't read this thread for sometime.. "replaced all my locks" means, i changed the keys. Installed new locks for doors, boot, ignition. Since you have new locks its hard for anyone who try to break-in.. Its good to do this before fixing security systems for old cars. Another thing: I don't recoment fixing after market security systems to cars which comes with factory fitted security systems to get more features. After market security system wirings are not that profetional. If you can, look under the steering wheel wire harnes of a car whick has fixed a after market security system. Anyone can guess which wire / fuse to dis-connect to disarm the security system.. :) (In a factory fitted security systems you cannot see such wiring)
  11. I found a user manual but i think its for the Maruti Alto. Those who need it please find it in below link: http://www.vehiclepdf.com/2011/04/suuki-alto-owners-manual.html
  12. Try having 8 airbags in Viva..!! Hik hik hik.. Anyway i have done a comparison on dimensions between Viva, Passo, Allion and Vitz. Viva - (Overall length - 3575 / Width - 1475 / Height - 1530 / Wheelbase - 2390 / Ground Clearance - 145) Passo - (Overall length - 3595 / Width - 1665 / Height - 1535 / Wheelbase - 2440 / Ground Clearance - 160 ) Vitz - (Overall length - 3750 / Width - 1695 / Height - 1520 / Wheelbase - 2460 / Ground Clearance - 145) Allion - (Overall length - 4565 / Width - 1695 / Height - 1470 / Wheelbase - 2700 / Ground Clearance - 160)
  13. I think this is common in most of SL PC vendors. Not only PC Ho#se, i have gone through sh!! with Barkl#$s when i came to claim warranty for a Intel M/B. I had enough with it. It was the last time i bought assembled PCs. I think its worth to buy branded PCs / Laptops than wasting time with poor quality assembled ones. (eg compare bootup time with Dell i5 and a assembled core i5 machine)
  14. Dear All, One of my friend is looking for a Suzuki Alto (Jap) 2004 - User Manual. He has not recieved the user manual when he bought the car. Please let know if there is a place to download the user manual or even if any of you have a user manual please be kind enough to let know if available for us to photocopy it. This will be a great help for him when he is thinking of maintenence and servicing. Thanks in advance. (Vehicle Info - Suzuki Alto (Jap) | YOM - 2004 | 660CC | Auto) Kmeeg..
  15. Then its good to buy a Alto (Jap)
  16. Alto(Jap)...??? Noway man...!!! In Alto (Jap) when you need pickup u need to get off and give a little push... You don't need ABS and Airbags for it cause the spedo meter only has upto 140Km/h..!! so you never reach a decent speed that you think of safety.. On top of that its not good on fuel as the Indian Alto or even the Estilo. You cnt even think of comparing Alto (Jap) 650 Auto with Viva 1000CC STD MT.. So i dnt think its worth to spend 1.4 / 1.5 mil to a Alto (Jap) 650 Auto than spending 14/95 for a Viva 1000CC STD MT..
  17. Yes Dinuk. This works for both Corolla 141 (Altis) and Camry 2002 (2.0) SW Use - ScanTool Default Passcode - 1234 (Try not to use COM1 as smtimes it doesn't work, I'm using COM5)

    Car Service

I always follow the user manual. Its the best document for me. User manual says 'when u should do' and 'what you should use' (from engine oil to coolant to window washer). Since we are using the car in SL roads (rough and dirty) i choose time in between 'normal driving' and 'severe driving' section.(Eg if changing Air Filter is normal - 20,000kms and severe 10,000kms; i change air filter in 15,000kms) I think following the user manual is the best no matter who advice you and service, and also need to use common sense (Eg if you see ur air filter is full of dirt at 10,000 kms you better change it)
  19. JD, I saw some videos on Youtube where they program ECU. Isn't it to do with this OBD. (Sorry i dnt knw much detail about this) And with this OBD SW there is a Save option. Is it to save data to car computer or to save current data in PC? Also pls recommend the best sw for OBD II pls.. This is the one i got from e-bay: _http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ELM327-OBDII-OBD2-Bluetooth-Auto-Car-Diagnostic-v1-5-/170688803061?pt=Motors_Automotive_Tools&hash=item27bdd870f5#ht_500wt_876 (I only installed the softwares came with the CD)
  20. I think its like this. You can buy a second hand Jag for a very reasonable price. This is a good idea if you have another car for daily travelling. Otherwise you are in trouble. Another thing, if you try to maintain ur car at Reg#$cy you are also in trouble. B'cos they always charge you alot (For some parts you have to wait for weeks or even months). Take your Jag to a reliable garage for maintenance There is no rocket science in Jag. But dnt take it to M#g C%ty plssss...!! Those who says its not comfortable may be they are using 45 or 50 profile tires. Its not suitable for roads here. Use atleast 55 or 60 profile tires. (Go to Unit@# Mot#$s for Yokohama or go to D^M@ for Michelin). Its better to buy 60 profile tires b'cos they are much cheaper, but Michelin 60 profile is only available with R16 tires @ D^M@. If you have R17 you have to go to 55 profile. (But better to check whether they have R17 / 60 profile)
  21. I got a bluetooth OBD scanner from Ebay. I'm using it with freeware Sw. But i'm only using with Toyota. Not working for my Viva and BM.. I'm just using it for checking data. Still dnt how how to edit the data and not trying to also since i dnt know hw to do it properly. I think if you make a mistake ur screwd.. If any body knws a SW that works with Perodua and BMW pls let me know..
  22. 2.5L V6 doing 7.2Km/L on non busy roads (Only using in weekends)..
  23. Mmm.. FB15 & N16 performance machines..I'm sure DD will use a FB15 or a N16 for his next race...
  24. My reading gave 14.5km/L with Elite std MT in Heavy traffic from K'goda to Fort. (Calculated on the 2 times pumped full tank get the dif)
  25. Un*Mo has ex-stock Viva 850 ones. Their selling price is 13/50 But as i found on a site Viva 1000CC is more fuel efficient than Viva 850. (By a very little margin) Link - http://www.myperodua...ndex.php?page=7
