  1. Oh yeah, been there... many times with my previous car. Anyway, nice cat. We had two looking exactly like that.
  2. Hahahahaa! Exactly! Yours look like it's thinking "did you feel that? I think my bed just moved!"
  3. ...Until he finds the cat's footprints on BRATT's bonnet.
  4. I have to agree with VVTi on this one. It's perfectly alright to keep an eye on fuel consumption, but micromanaging things and trying to control your speed like this to achieve optimal fuel efficiency is just plain stupid IMHO. The furthest to go is manage a fuel log I guess and just drive as you normally would. If the averages start crawling down, then see what actions should be taken. More like being pre-emptive over preventive. Of course this doesn't mean that you can drive like a maniac or skip routine services and expect the figures to be okay. Seriously, how does one drive with a clear head while every decision made on the road is cross-checked in their heads with fuel efficiency figures?
  5. You're kidding! From what I remember, you couldn't even steer the car out of the scene because the suspension was all damaged after the car ran over a concrete structure. So this isn't just "the back of the car" as mentioned in the ad. Further, if the guy was trying to sell the car as a wreck, why would he be advertising it as a whole vehicle instead of parts maybe? And hide the condition of the rear end! My opinion is that once a car is written off, the registration should be made invalid at the DMV, so that it cannot be sold as a whole vehicle (Yes, there are ways to bypass this as well, but it makes things harder). Isn't there such a process in place?
  6. I believe we have a thread specifically for Good Mechanics/Workshops etc. This could have very well be posted there. Here's the thread. http://forum.autolanka.com/topic/15974-good-mechanics-technicians-workshops/
  7. On the topic of smoking: That's just 400. Imagine the lungs of a person who has been smoking for 20 years, a pack a day.
  8. Well done! That's pretty neat!
  9. Woohoo! There she is... finally! Congratulations again! She looks absolutely stunning! Thanks for sharing the photos of the multi-info display. Didn't actually know there were such a lot of options in there. Also, I'd like to second trinity's suggestion on colour keying the rear view mirrors. Love the fact that the tail lamps are the type with the black surrounding rather than the red one. Black suits the car's colour really well.
  10. Quad headlamps FTW! Just look at that face!!
  11. Some people seriously never learn. http://forum.autolanka.com/topic/16087-door-visors/?view=findpost&p=262249
  12. Too bad they didn't include ANY Technics in the list: http://www.topgear.com/uk/photos/greatest-best-lego-cars-ever-2014-6-5
  13. Congratulations and enjoy the longest 3 (or 4) days of your life!
  14. I've seen this car in person. It's in my neighbourhood as well. The car was in the same paint shop when I wanted to get a small touchup done recently. Yes, it has got Kia Cerato headlamps. The front bumper has been cut in the middle and joined again if I'm not mistaken (because the Lancer EX face is wider than the CS face). And the car has only undergone cosmetic mods (although the owner has moved the front number plate to the side to show that the car has an intercooler). The interior is also cosmetically riced up CS3. A few weeks after this guy painted the car, he had to come back to the same paint shop because the rear wheel arches were starting to crack. According to my painter, this will continue to happen as the rear door shuts. Been meaning to capture some photos of this, but I never really got a chance. Feeling sorry for the CS3.
  15. The Idle Air Control Valve (IACV or ICV) is what is referred to as the "Automatic Choke" by many. This is mounted onto the throttle body and is usually cleaned during an EFI tuneup. And yes, this can be a direct culprit. The ICV might be stuck, closing the air passage in the throttle body resulting in a puff of smoke when the engine is started. Since you've already replaced the air filter and plugs, I can again suggest that you get an EFI tuneup done which includes cleaning the throttle body (and ICV) and the injectors (preferably ultrasonic).
  16. This is what I use: http://pixlr.com/editor I don't install PhotoShop because I rarely edit photos. This is a pretty good alternative for my needs. Love it.
  17. Black smoke is mostly due to partial fuel combustion. So we're looking at a problem in the air/fuel/ignition systems. When was the last time a proper EFI tuneup was done on this car? If at all a tuneup was done: - Was the air filter cleaned/replaced? (air) - Were the injectors cleaned? (fuel) - Were the spark plugs cleaned/replaced? (ignition) If a tuneup was never done, I'd suggest getting a complete EFI tuneup done.
  18. If the trailer is over 4 minutes long, imagine how it would be sitting through the whole movie.
  19. Did you try searching the forum before opening this thread?
  20. Tried several times on my CS3 with Torque and Scanator and it just doesn't pick up the ECU. :S Thanks! This I will try. Unfortunately, The Belta is no longer within my reach anymore. It was my brother in law's car, and he sold it a couple of months back.
  21. Saw from the video that the subwoofer which was inside the car's trunk had flown off to a nearby house, tearing the roofing sheets. Judging by the distance it was thrown, it does look like the driver was going pretty fast. If the road was also wet, then this probably can be the end result regardless of the chassis being tampered IMHO.
  22. ...and all SUVs are "Jeep"s.

    Toyota Recalls

Why do you seriously have to open a new thread for every recall? There are enough and more threads about manufacturer (and Toyota specific) recalls. Use one of them without polluting the forum. http://forum.autolanka.com/topic/8508-manufacturer-recalls/ http://forum.autolanka.com/topic/14412-toyota-recalls/
  24. Not sure if it's UniMo, but I've seen several carriers with Monteros and EXs on them. Ones that can accomodate about 4 - 5 vehicles at a time.
