  1. I think you can drain the coolant, take the radiator off and turn it up side down. Give it a good shake and the lodged parts should come out through the top tank hose inlet or the same way it fell in (through the filler neck). You can also try filling it with water (while the radiator is still up side down and both the filler and top tank inlets closed off) through the bottom tank hose inlet. Then after the entire radiator is filled, release the top tank inlet. The plastic will probably be flushed out with the water.
  2. I believe the radiator cap in question is not the common "big head" type. This one has the spring in centre chamber of the cap, secured by a metal ring. While parts of the "big head" type caps are highly unlikely to fall into the radiator, this one looks like it can. According to OP's photos, I assume the metal ring broke off somehow, resulting in the plastic head, spring and the ring to separate (and perhaps fall into the radiator).
  3. Agree with The Don. It's unlikely that the valve and spring mechanism would have fallen inside. If you're certain that it has fallen inside somehow, you can try this: Get hold of a strong magnet. Hold it outside the radiator top tank and move it slowly towards the middle. If the spring mechanism has fallen inside, it should still be inside the top tank and should follow the magnet until it comes out.
  4. I've seen a couple myself, but all this time I thought they were personal imports. It wasn't even available on the agent's website.

Congratulations on the buy. AutoLanka is having a lot of new babies these days. As for the fuel consumption figures, if it's 9km/l within the city, then that's pretty normal as Crosswind said. But outstation should be a bit more as far as I know. Ignore the "doctor's advice" and do a service and a get a full tune-up/diagnosis done.
  6. Holds equally well as regular paint. Some touch-ups I did were not showing up even after 4 years.
  7. Search the forum. Discussed many times. In brief, the Lancer brought down by the agents came down as GLX and GLS where GLS is the fully loaded version.
  8. Not the exact brand, but I've tried similar ones and they gave me pretty much the same results.

Parliament grounds is a common place for meet-ups. There is a good car park and a set of restaurants there as well.
  10. I definitely wouldn't have given mine away if I was in SL. Well I sold mine without even advertising it... while being out of the country also. Many people who knew about the car were willing to buy and I gave it to the guy whom I thought deserved it the most.
  11. This thread is two years old.
  12. The QG15DE engine comes with 4 coil packs (1 for each spark plug) if I remember correctly. It might be a faulty ignition coil as well. The loss of power maybe due to one cylinder failing intermittently. This is assuming that the plugs are fine because they're new. First check if the ignition coil connectors are properly secured. You can get the car to a state where it starts to knock and then remove each connector to check if each cylinder is getting a spark. If the spark is intermittent, then this is easier said than done. A diagnostic scan however will be able to tell you if there is a fault in the ignition system.
  13. Accelerated too hard (to overtake) and caused the load to be shifted back?
  14. Phone is a OnePlus One but I agree on it still being small for a game of this nature. Remember you having a Nexus 4 and 7. Still have 'em?
  15. If there is a leak on the firewall, especially close to your blower motor chamber, then it's bound to pull in air from the outside. I'd start inspecting the grommets and rubber bushes in the firewall first. Check the grommet around the steering shaft, heater lines, wire harnesses etc. If everything seems to be sealed, then move on to the fresh air vent. Take off the wipers and the trim bits covering the motor chamber and check if you can spot a gap. Keep an eye for damage caused by rodents as well. If you can access the fresh air vent from outside, try pushing the flap to see if it looks like it leaks air into the car. The vent usually has a foam or sponge lining to seal against the body, rats love to tear this apart! Your idle RPM seems to be normal. Did Mazna run a diagnostic scan before concluding that it is the distributor that is on it's way out? Check around the throttle body and intake manifold for disconnected or damaged vacuum lines.
  16. If you're into Rally games, then you've got to try this out. It's a simulation, so sometimes driving fast is not even the objective, the damage and handling is just spot on to a level where if you nick the edge of the road at high speed, you'll flip your car or get a puncture the least. You've got a team that specializes on various areas of the car and properly setting it up before each rally is vital. I have this installed on my phone, and I agree it's one of the best racing games I've played on the phone. I have not reached as far as you've got though. The two games above are so good I've stopped playing games on the phone for a while now. As for playing with a keyboard, I play using a Logitech G27 wheel. It's got a 6 speed shifter, a clutch, paddle shifters and a 900 degree lock to lock rotation angle (which I have customized to 540 for rallying). Both above games fully support the G27 which takes it to a whole new level.
  17. In the second photo you can clearly see the solid line marking the edge of the road, so I think this guy was overtaking on the oncoming side.
  18. Referring to Dirt Rally, yes?
  19. Do you get the petrol smell when the car is stationary (in the morning before starting for example)? Or is it more prominent when the car is on the move? if it's the latter, then it might be that the firewall has a leak into the cabin - maybe due to a fallen rubber grommet or even a rodent as Rumesh has said. I'm going to rule out transmission problems because you have said "reduces when shifted to P". How's your idle RPM when on P and D respectively? Take a look under the back seat just to make sure your fuel pump is not leaking from the top gasket. Might be an answer to both problems.
  20. Probably tried to overtake (at a bend, with a solid line!).
  21. Because Microsoft acquired Skype.

I'm pretty sure that the discolouration is on the outside. Don't take the headlight apart yet. Refer the threads below and try cleaning them more thoroughly on the outside. http://forum.autolanka.com/topic/9730-how-to-restore-your-headlights/ http://forum.autolanka.com/topic/14307-full-cleanup-of-headlampsfog-lamps/ http://forum.autolanka.com/topic/10447-most-easiest-way-of-restoring-your-head-lights/

Congrats! The car seems to be in decent shape. Good call on not changing the colour. Hope you have many good memories with her. Get the headlights polished and the lights on the front bumper cleaned up.
