  1. Jeremy Clarkson explains why the Porsche 928 was so dear to him in the Top Gear Patagonia Special. The car didn't give him trouble when he had a few hours to go visit his dying father. I personally don't think the 928 is the best car, but for him... it's something very special. If you love a car for personal reasons or the history you have had with it, then others' opinions shouldn't matter.
  2. I believe if the temperature gauge is working, this could be identified easily as a noticeable increase in the temperature will be shown. In OP's case, the motor doesn't spin at all, only the solenoid seems to be operating.
  3. Since this thread seems to be going off course, let me remind that whatever posted here should be local stuff. Everything else goes to Post Whoring.
  4. I remember using the lug wrench to hammer the starter motor while someone cranks the engine. Worked when the motor needed a small push to get going, because of worn out brushes.
  5. Nice! I can't seem to get my eyes off that red Capri!
  6. Your starter motor is at fault here. The most likely causes are: - Worn out brushes - Worn out bearings Take your car to a good auto electrician and get your starter motor serviced. Replace brushes and bearings as necessary. EDIT: Guess Rumesh beat me to it!
  7. Online renewal is not possible for the North Western province. Only Western and Southern province is currently supported. I'm sorry, I misread your question. I'll leave someone with experience to answer your question, but I think the below link has info that would help you. It looks like you need a CMT 72 application. http://www.motortraffic.gov.lk/web/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=119&Itemid=123〈=en
  8. Already discussed (second and third posts in the below thread answer your question): http://forum.autolanka.com/topic/14585-vehicle-transferring-and-registration-procedure/
  9. Your link is broken, but I believe this is the file you are referring to. As far as I remember, the last amendment was done in 2012, so the document is still in effect. On the contrary, this document doesn't contain anything about the Expressway speed limits, despite the country having two already. So we can't really call it an "updated" or a "complete" set of guidelines IMO.
  10. Odd. I'm pretty sure that the colour code I mentioned above is correct because I checked it from their colour palette. NH-262 is "Terra Silver Metallic". Anyway, double check that before buying the paint. There is no easier way to do it if you're still going for a touch up job. I honestly fail to see what's complicated. Your friend maybe right when he/she said that Mr. Paint would do a proper job, our point is whether spending about 8000 for a minor scratch is really worth it. If you keep painting bumpers everytime you scratch them, you'll end up spending the most on painting and nothing else. Do keep us posted on what you decide to do. Good luck!
  11. They won't "vanish" of course. They'll be less visible. Let's say "camouflaged". If you do a good touch up job, it will look almost like the original paint. See it for yourself: Okay, so I think you need to go back to square one and think this through again. 1. First, take it to Aut0Miraj and get them to polish off the scratches like Crosswind suggested. This process will remove some of the scratches, leaving out the deep ones. Polishing only removes the shallow scratches. 2. After the polishing is done, decide what you would like done next. You have the option of touching up using a touch up paint kit, repainting the whole bumper (which is a waste of money and time... and is stupid) or just ignoring the scratches altogether. 3. If you decide to go ahead with touching up, you need to find out whether you can source the touch up kits (matching the colour of your car - White Orchid Pearl). - 3.1. Wait for someone to respond on the forum with an answer about a place they have found locally - 3.2. Call Stafford Motors and see if they bring down touch up kits - 3.3. Order from eBay 4. If there are local places that you can get this from (I highly doubt they will have the exact colour code for your car), then buy it from them. If Stafford has it, then get it from them - they will definitely have the matching colour if they bring this stuff. If local sources fail, go for eBay. 5. Attempt the touch up job as instructed in the package. There are so many YouTube videos on how to do touch up jobs yourself. If you're still not sure about doing this yourself, get someone else to do it for you. Multiple scratch repair threads on the forum and I got 'em mixed up. Thanks and yes, the colour code is same.
  12. I'm sorry but I'm not in SL at the moment. I will however try to send you a PM and notify you if I get to know of a place in Colombo. I think Kmeeg has found a place because he has stated here that he tried it on his car with satisfactory results. Just did a bit of Googling and the colour of your Vezel is "White Orchid Pearl" (Color code NH-788P). Found a few touch up paint pens on eBay such as this and this which are not from Honda. This one is a genuine touch up pen from Honda, but unfortunately the seller does not ship to Sri Lanka. You can try getting it down through Kapruka though. You'll still have to place a bid. Not sure if the agents have this on stock but I know that UniMo brings them down upon request for Mitsubishi. You might want to try calling Stafford and checking with them as well. Prices of course will be on the high side.
  13. The black plastic is the original colour of the bumper. The manufacturer painted it to match the colour of the vehicle. An option referred to as "Colour keyed bumpers". This is applied to other plastic parts such as door handles and rear view mirrors as well. I'm sure touch up pens were discussed on the forum, so do a search and you might find a few local places. But if I were you, I'd get it off eBay because you can get a kit to match the exact colour code of your vehicle.

    Changing Break Oil

Do they use a machine to flush? If so, does anyone know if they bleed the clutch line as well for hydraulic clutches?
  15. From the photo, it looks like the scratches can be polished out. But the spots where the black plastic is exposed (I count 9 spots) will still be visible. For that you can just use a touch up paint stick together with a clear coat stick and polish it after the paint has settled well. You will not be able to even notice this after you've done the touch up. I wouldn't bother painting the whole bumper for something as small as this. The paint sticks will come in handy in the future too.
  16. Was unable to go through or update on what I've been watching. So here goes: Taken 3: If you enjoyed Taken 1 and 2, then you'll find this enjoyable too. While my personal favourite is Taken 1, the blood pumping action of this sequel does make it worth a watch. I'm not much of a fan of the story, I think Brian (Liam Neeson) gets too lucky. Dumb and Dumber To Can't really say that I liked the movie, but I sure had a massive laugh. Funny and annoying at the same time. They have done justice to the first movie I guess. Gone Girl I really don't know the reason behind the hype about this movie (maybe it's partially because of the hype raised by women over wanting to see Ben Affleck's gentleman's sausage), but this was probably one of the most twisted love stories I've watched. Nightcrawler Again... twisted. A guy desperate to find work discovers his passion for recording breaking news which in turn consumes him to to a level where he starts to control how the story goes. Interesting watch. More on my list to watch: - The Theory of Everything - Big Hero 6 - Birdman

    2Din Dvd Player Help

Thanks, that actually is the cheapest one I've come across yet I think. The kits that were available during 2009 - 2011 were much more expensive. Planning to sell my CS3, so I probably will not do this now.

    2Din Dvd Player Help

A CS3 with a double din dashboard! A very rare option in SL. For years I've been looking at good ways to do a double din conversion on my CS3 but they were either too expensive or involved cutting up the dashboard. Anyway, you shouldn't have to go to the agents to get the system installed as long as you get it done from a good place like P3tco, B@ra etc. They've probably done it on many Lancers before, so you should be alright. And +1 on advice against going for a cheap Chinese brand.
  19. It's probably gone yellow as a result of the white paint being exposed to the elements. No clear coat under there you know. If you're talking about the layer that appears like a thick paste, it's the factory undercoating. Applied to prevent damage to the sheet metal as rocks and debris are thrown about inside the wheel well. Also as a soundproofing mechanism.

    Aqua Usb Installation

Welcome to the forum. The product is intended for Aqua, so the answer is yes. I believe this can be installed on any car that has a 12v batery and USB audio support. Not sure if they are available locally though. You can find one of those USB adaptors that plug into the cigarette lighter if the only intention is to charge your mobile devices.
  21. The CS3 (1.6L) also came with CVT. Just not sure if there are any examples in our country.
  22. So many threads on the forum (comparisons, known issues, general discussions and the BRATT thread)... yet people are still reluctant to search. Sigh. http://forum.autolanka.com/topic/14966-lancer-ex/ http://forum.autolanka.com/topic/16553-mitsubishi-lancer-ex-2008-glx-vs-gls/ http://forum.autolanka.com/topic/15803-lancer-ex-known-issues/ http://forum.autolanka.com/topic/16538-mitsubishi-lancer-ex-glx/ http://forum.autolanka.com/topic/9021-lancer-ex-abs-sensor/ http://forum.autolanka.com/topic/4140-lancer-ex-08-vs-corrolla-07/ http://forum.autolanka.com/topic/9725-lancer-ex-gls/ http://forum.autolanka.com/topic/15078-lancer-ex-or-civic-fd/ http://forum.autolanka.com/topic/15723-lancer-or-axio-update-bought-a-lancer-aka-the-bratt-thread/ http://forum.autolanka.com/topic/11792-honda-fd1-or-lancer-ex/ http://forum.autolanka.com/topic/15986-rav4-2003-corolla-141-2008-or-lancer-ex-2008/
  23. Looks like the protest by the Hybrid buyers today has worked. The minister has agreed to grant concessions to those affected (personal importers). Source: Here
  24. Is this a CS3 GL or GLX?
  25. Yeah, quite clear when they've said "powder" twice. *I was trying to be funny Crosswind. Come on! I also heard that state owned vehicles will be sold in public auctions. Those abandoned Land Rovers and BMWs will finally find homes. And that it will be possible to import busses (for tourism purposes if I heard correctly) where the YOM is up to 10 years old. (it's currently possible to import only where YOM <=5).
