I've been pumping from that place occasionally for about 3 years now, mainly because my office is close by; but I haven't had a problem. I too make it a point to get out of the car and tell the pump operator how much I want to pump - regardless of whether it is a full tank or just a 1000 bucks worth of fuel. Giving them the opportunity to fool you and talking about it is a bit pointless in my opinion. Unless of course it's an organized scam as pointed out by Komi.

The correct tyre pressure should be indicated on the B pillar or the inner side of the driver's door in your car.

Wishing you had said "maka baas" instead now? OP, just buy a new hose and do a permanent fix rather than going for a temporary solution which could get you stranded somewhere after all the coolant drains out of the system.

WoW! Resembles the classic 510 so precisely!

A friend of mine has a 7 sri Nissan Cedric (1976 I believe) with fender mirrors which are remotely controlled from insider the car, and it's cable operated. Still works like new.

Seriously? Some vehicles have a factory tint on the top of the windscreen, wonder how they're gonna get the owners to remove that. Sounds like they're manipulating the "no stickers on the windscreen except for the revenue license" law.

It was there at Arpico Battaramulla. I think it had a SPARCO lettering.

Your car should be having an OBD/ OBDII connector which has 16 pins, so it's not "wrong". The guys at the shop don't seem to be having the right OBD diagnostic tool with them.

Looks like they're real according to Komi. Wonder what's up with the square number plates then.
-
Amen to that... By the way, it looks like the RMV doesn't issue a square number plate for the front.

Glad we're back on topic Komi. The body looks like it's in decent shape for a car of this age IMO. A bit of work around the wheel well as you said.

One of my favourites. Just love the looks of that car. Unfortunately, most of the Celestes in Sri Lanka are either modified (molested rather) or rusted to the ground. Remember this white one that was up for sale a few months back and the extent of molestation was just terrifying.

I remember reading a couple of threads recently about similar issues on the Bluebird SU14. The problem is most likely in the gauge cluster circuit. I guess that the RPM issues are also part of this because it's controlled by a drive by wire system. Go through the following threads: http://forum.autolanka.com/topic/15525-bluebird-su14-problem/ http://forum.autolanka.com/topic/11158-bluebird-fuel-gauge-problem/ <- Not much of info here, but OP has figured out that it's in the gauge cluster (as per his mechanic). Hope this helps. Good luck!

What in the world is a "bush test"?

Maaan that car looks like it's in darn good condition! Congrats VWVortex!

Awesome! Good luck on the restoration! Use an online image hosting site for your images. I doubt the AutoLanka attachment space will be sufficient for all the photos you're hoping to share. My suggestion would be to use imageshack.us.

Wish you a very happy birthday Schiffer! Have a good one.

Thank you! Plus that split exhaust probably transforms into what could be a deadly weapon.

How to be creative with a number plate... Sri Lankan style.

When danger lurks, seeking every opportunity to DESTROY, They keep fighting... PROTECTing... while hiding in plain sight.

This is even worse... I can't believe I spent 14 minutes of my life wathing this:

The Tesla Model S that you have quoted is not a hybrid car by the way...
-
Good to know. Should tell the guy to try and apply then... Thanks!

Awesome stuff! Looks like Komi is celebrating an early Christmas... I'd rather have a better time looking through the rear view mirror, at other drivers going :o .

Yeah, it's ruined... I realized that it was a Cefiro when I saw the amber reflectors on the side of the bumpers. Quite unique to this model.
