Spotted at Rajagiriya. And yes, the fan was spinning... Spotted in a three wheeler that I got onto a few weeks back. This is just behind the passenger seat. And no, luckily it was not spinning!

Hahahahaha! Good one!

Learnt from my dad to check fluids everyday and tyre pressure every week. Using Aluminum caps + stem covers myself (about 5 years and counting) and no issues so far. I've never oiled them.

Very touching...

Yeah machang! They look stunning!! Wanna see her in person for sure! Will let you know if I happen to drive through Mount.

THIS POST WAS LEFT BLANK INTENTIONALLY* *Cause I'm out of words...

Not sure if this has been shared already, but I found some indicators here that I have never seen before.

Really? I removed the glove compartment to check and the slot is covered up. I remember the AC workshop guys also telling me that it doesn't have one. Should check for the possibility now. Thanks for letting me know bogzy!

Great work Sampath! I think this qualifies for a new DIY thread if you can post more photos and stuff. Since the car was used for a considerable amount of time without the air filter, I can suggest that you clean the blower fan as well. I'm sure you'll find some dirt on the blades. The Lancer CS doesn't have a cabin air filter as well, and dust easily gets accumulated on the blower fan. Remember seeing a covered slot that was intended for the filter, but mine looked like it had to be messed up with a lot to get a filter in there. Should have another look.

Tesla Motors - Cars That Will Change The World

Not sure if this was shared before, but this is worth watching: -
Thanks for the comments guys. True, A few weeks before posting this thread, I tried to find the re-fill rubber blade in and around Panchi but failed. Even the Wurth agents themselves didn't have it when I checked. Got some contacts from some AL members as well but I wasn't able to find the stuff. Any particular shop at Panchi that you remember having them?

Maan, some scary stuff!

Yeah machang, back after a long time. The ICV should be mounted onto the throttle body using three screws. I'm not entirely sure if the ICV on your engine can be serviced because some of them are sealed and should be replaced if proven to be defective. Taking it off the throttle body should be an easy job. If you manage to take it out, share a photo. We can then see if it can be taken apart for a cleanup.

If you're wondering if the accuracy of the speedo degrades over time (with no mods done to the vehicle), then that's hardly the case. What's the actual problem you're having? This clip actually came into my mind while I was reading the first post.
-
I think The Don is spot on about the ICV. When I mentioned about trinity's problem to my mechanic, he too said that this is probably the issue. As for the part in the image, while this is not the same ICV on my engine (4G18), it looks very similar. The best option is to locate it (it should be mounted onto the throttle body) and find a replacement ICV with the same part number. If yours is just sticking, then you might be able to get away with a good clean-up of the ICV.

If that's the case, then I doubt going for a disk brake conversion will solve your problem. A 'spongy' brake pedal can be due to many reasons, air and/or water being inside the system is one of them. So your mechanic is probably right when he said that there's an issue with the master cylinder. What I can suggest is you get him to bleed air out of the system and try if that sorts the issue. If it doesn't, you'll have to overhaul (or replace if necessary) the master cylinder. Whatever you decide to do, make sure you attend to it as soon as possible, and don't risk driving the car in this condition.

First of all, the model code of the Lancer 'Box' is A172 through A176. A72 is the first generation Lancer. By saying "braking is poor", did you mean that the brake pedal travels closer to the floor board when you try to apply brakes or does the car still keep moving while the brake pedal is firmly pressed? Based on your mechanic's findings, I'm guessing it's the former. If so, repair the master pump or buy a brand new one (available at Panchikawatte and the prices are around 4000). Did a disk brake conversion on a Lancer A72 a couple of years back and I had to settle with converting only the front because I could not find compatible Mitsubishi parts for the rear. The rear brakes of both the A72 and the Box are very much alike (interchangeable parts) with the only exception being the hand brake adjusting mechanism.

Top Gear/fifth Gear/jeremy Clarkson Videos!

There was a scene in 2F2F where the Evo (driven by Paul Walker) goes into a scrapyard or boat yard to retrieve a package in the Ferrari that belongs to Carter Verone (the bad guy). In the scene where the Evo enters the boat yard, it slams against the gate (vertical iron pole) of the scrapyard and the font end is badly damaged if you look closely. And from that point forward, the front end of the Evo is a bit different from earlier (missing Mitsu emblem and so on. they probably had to put in a new bumper and hood). I might sound crazy, but I have watched that movie so many times I remember all the scenes and probably all the dialogues. Edit: This is the scene:

Cool! I wish they hadn't modified the rear tail lights and left it as it is. They've used Lancer tail lights on it and it's not a proper job as the lights are so badly installed, they're sticking out of the body on the bottom side of the light. It has ruined the 'wider' look of the Evo VII rear end. Anyway, who cares, it's the actual car from the movie and each time you sit behind the wheel, you'll be reminded that Eva Mendes has sat on that front passenger seat!

The lights are on! Woohoo!
