If they did a proper throttle body clean-up, they would have cleaned the ICV as well. When you start your car in the morning/when cold, does the RPM go above normal and then slowly come down as the engine reaches operating temperature?

Windows Task Scheduler Does not work
Davy replied to PreseaLover's topic in PC and other Console Games
If there are rules against leaving equipment plugged in, surely there must be rules against downloading pirated content using the office network. -
Thanks Peri.

Sounds like a sticky Idle Control Valve. What was done as part of the tune-up?

Welcome. Please search the forum. So many discussions about bodywork and paint shops.

What have you done so far on the transmission that didn't work and convinced you to go for a replacement? Have you done a proper ATF change at least? When oil seals inside the transmission harden due to age or if your transmission fluid is bad, these symptoms can happen. A proper automatic transmission expert should be able to overhaul yours for you.

Welcome to the forum. If all you want is the key housing, you can try eBay.

Thanks! And yes, that's mine. An attempt at trying to make it seem like the proportions of both cars are the same.

One last set of photos and a video. And finally, a video of the first start-up and drive. Note that you can hear a rattle during the initial start up, and I found that it was the prop shaft touching the servo mount as it spins. I adjusted that. And that folks is the end of the build.

Toyota Passo (kgc30) Transmission "D" blinks.
Davy replied to Hasbee's question in Electrical problems
Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear that you were affected by the floods. When you said that the water level was up to the tyres, what exactly do you mean? Half of the wheels submerged? It's really difficult to say what's really wrong with a flood damaged car. Given that your ECU was fried, it might be an electrical fault or an issue with the transmission itself. Have you tried getting the ATF inspected to see if water has somehow reached inside the unit? Also, I advise cleaning all the connectors that lead up to the transmission (actually, all of them that were unedr water) with contact cleaner before even attempting to start the car. -
There obviously is a leak in your power steering box which explains the oil being splattered all over the place. The oil probably leaks out when when the pressure inside the system exceeds a certain amount. So this may not happen when the engine is idling. You should turn the steering from lock to lock while revving the engine to see if there's actually a leak. It should be an oil seal as Dushyantha mentioned. The power steering pump and rack (in this case "box") should never run without oil. If done so, excessive heat and friction will damage them. So you should get this fixed before you use the car.

That's not a catalytic converter. That's a flex pipe used to minimise engine vibration onto the exhaust system. The C12 doesn't have a cat according to my knowledge. At least not the ones we get in Sri Lanka. On the subject of exhaust blockage, if it were the issue, there would be a noticeable increase in your engine temperature and high fuel consumption. Also, according to the eco test report, the exhaust probe seems to have picked up readings that appear to be normal for this type of car. A blockage would have skewed the results.
-
Yes! That seems to have fixed it.

Hi Rohan, Thanks for sharing your experience and thoughts. Agree with you on the points I've made bold above in your post. I have seen many local paint shops use sophisticated paintless dent repair equipment, but the personnel who handle the equipment are regular tinkerers or painters. This obviously leads to the job not being perfect. As you said, this is definitely a different avenue of body repairing and proper training and experience is a must to handle real life scenarios. With this thread being nearly three years old, I hope the situation has changed and I hope members who are aware of places that carry out professional paintless dent repair, will share information about them.

This how the electrics went in: Servo installed: The receiver is pasted on the servo with some double sided tape. The ESC was pasted onto the chassis with double sided tape. All wires connected and tied: I got to painting the spoiler again as well. Three coats of metallic blue followed by two coats of clear. I'm going to install it on the car like this and give it a good cut & polish a couple of weeks later. Painted the battery bracket and the front bumper with the same blue as well. Just because.

HI MADZ, The issue seems to be in one of the forum plug-ins used for spell checking. It appears you guys are using Grammerly to do spell checking, but the CSS associated with the buttons don't seem to be working properly. Please see the screenshot below. There are random numbers appearing on the right pane of the page (particularly on this thread). This is what The Stig highlighted before with a mobile screenshot. The number appears to be associated with the number of grammatical errors in quoted posts. Removing the inline style highlighted in blue above brings the text back into the middle pane (I believe that's where the text should be) which should fix the blank space issue in mobile. Hope this helps.
-
Can't you just Google for a good photo, print it and frame it? Basically the same thing.
-
I can confirm that I'm having the same issue as The Stig. Although the issue isn't there on every page, it definitely is there when viewing this thread - if that makes it easier for you guys to reproduce it. Device is a OnePlus One with Chrome running Android 6.0.1.
-
Hey MADZ, Check this post for example, still broken links to attachments. Not sure if this is because this particular post was made on the 29th of June which was close to when you guys carried out the upgrade.

Not an expert since I have not owned any of these cars, but I've driven some. So here's my two cents about them: - The Evo VII GT-A is automatic. Pretty sure you will miss that third pedal. If you can go for a Evo VII GSR instead, then yes. - The 1998 Evo VI GSR and 2001 Subaru STi have pretty much the same power and the cars weigh almost the same. If you can find an example in good condition, then either car will be fun to drive. Depending on where you are located, you might be able to find one of those rare Tommi Makinen editions of the Evo VI and they're awesome! - The BMW E46 is the slowest of them all, so I'd look at the other options unless you're referring to an M3 No experience with the other cars, so I'm not going to comment on them.
-
That's correct. I think OP was expecting pulling power to increase as a result of the distributor oil leak being fixed.
-
The oil leak near your distributor is probably due to the distributor o-ring being bad. Replacing that will solve the leak, but I doubt it will improve pulling power. By the way, what's the mileage of the car? As part of your tune-up, were the injectors cleaned as well?

Windows Task Scheduler Does not work
Davy replied to PreseaLover's topic in PC and other Console Games
The reason why you couldn't see your BitTorrent running when you scheduled it through Task Scheduler is because you checked "Run whether user is logged in or not". When this is checked, tasks are run only in hidden mode. If you opened up Task Manager, you could have seen your BitTorrent app running at the specified time. But yeah, using Windows Task Scheduler when there's already a scheduler in the torrent app is a bit overkill. What I usually do is start uTorrent and select "Shut down when downloads are compete". -
