Buying Car Around 2.7 Million
AbeysinghE replied to lahiru_carlover's question in Car Buying Information
I have a friend who claims that his Allion 260 ..2007 model does 22 kmpl on long distances...I use the same car presently and the maximum I have got in southern highway is 13 kmpl...It's just that stupid trip computer which gives unusual figures. I agree with you..there are many options he can go with If don't have toyota lover barrier.... One of my personal favorite is Axela...I love that ride always.. -
What's the model? CS1 ? 1300cc ? price tag is too high I suppose..should be around 2.4 million...

Toyota Vios And Nissan Shylpy - Which One To Select
AbeysinghE replied to udaya803's topic in General Automotive
I have used both cars. Apart from bad fuel economy can't say anything bad about Sylphy...It's such a comfortable car in that price range. but I have to accept the fact that maintenance is bit more expensive and frequent than Vios.. -
Buying Car Around 2.7 Million

Just my personal opinion. If I were you, I would have definitely gone for Allion 240 -
One little advice mate. Don't go for Blackberry touch 9860. My friend and myself bought two from Ebay and had serious display sensitiveness issue and had to throw both of them...and you will have to use blackberry service with your local carrier to make use of it's features. Always advisable to use a smart phone with latest android version. Why don't you consider Sony xperia range in your budget?

What I know is there is no need to change hybrid's CVT oil as in Prius it's called E-CVT. It's long lasting I suppose. Correct me If I'm wrong...
-
It can be a realistic figure. But not at all sure whether it does 11 kmpl on Colombo traffic.

Toyota IST is generally a noisy car. Get your vehicle checked up by a good mechanic and run it as it is. If those sound proofing methods are good they should be coming as a factory fitted option...

My friend, I think you should have got different answers from members point of view. Now gather all ideas and decide yourself. If you ask 100 people there will be different opinions which will not help you in this at all. Finally you will go for what you like..If your main concern is fuel, go for a hybrid, If you consider resale value as well, go for a Toyota (Sri Lankan choice), If you want comfortable decent ride with pleasure, go for a Honda or Mazda. If you don't mind about any of those..then go for a Nissan...

Good move..remove all the stickers including the revenue license...and make the windscreen clean. Specially the useless club membership stickers....LOL

why don't you think about a Honda Accord????

You mentioned that your key is not working in some occasions..right?..have you checked whether it's happening in the same places..It maybe due to high frequency of radio waves..just check on that,If the problem not solved after changing the battery. I have faced the same problem in Dambulla golden temple..car park as there is a radio station operating there..but after that there was nothing..

Help To Buy A Car For A New Driver
AbeysinghE replied to asankabs's question in Car Buying Information
Mate..If you are really worried about the accidents due to your inexperience,go ahead and buy a car with a minimum budget that you could sell later on with minimum of effort..so I would also recommend what TheClutch recommended. They are cheap and relatively easy to sell -
I still can't understand the mechanism which Sri Lankan government uses to justify the fuel hikes..According to the Sri Lankan government, the prices of the world market gets high once in three months.when it gets down..just remain silent.no adjustments whatsoever, or a tiny little price reduction to fool the public.. In Malaysia where I'm living right now..there weren't a price adjustment after last December 2011..the current price of a petrol liter octane 95 which is using widely is RM 1.90 which is roughly Rs.79/= , SO that means the world market adjustment has not been adjusted to the price??..or government of Malaysia is making it stable bearing a loss??..the truth is it's the real price compared to the world market. What is happening in Sri Lanka is not adjusting according to the world price, but to reduce the effects of wastage and poor management.

Mate, I don't think the Prius performs better than Insight as I have used both the cars for more than one year..If you consider the power to weight ratio..both cars are having a very slight difference.so It's unwise to argue that the prius does better on performance than Insight..yes Prius has a more powerful engine but at the same time it's more heavier than Insight..yes I accept the fact that Prius is more economical on fuel and it's bit comfortable and roomier than Insight. and don't forget my friend, It's having the famous Toyota badge that you can sell any shit in Sri Lanka with that badge.. .

New Sri Lankan Car Manufacturer - 'elca Cars'
AbeysinghE replied to Californikan's topic in News & Updates
Hope this will not be a come n go project, as most of the similar projects started in the past were not continuing.. If this car launch ,parallely the charging stations need to be established. It will be a huge set up cost..will be good as a long term process..but for the time being sounds bit unrealistic for the current situation of the country. what my opinion is instead of going to electric (so called green cars) ..the best is to develop a good conventional petrol engine car (even assembling Japanes or Korean parts) with a reasonable price tag for average use..The best example in Asia is Proton and Perodua cars in Malaysia..you will see more Protons and Peroduas on the roads in Malaysia than other brands. -
Where Can I Buy A Toyota Lighting Logo In Sl??(Led Logo)
AbeysinghE replied to duma randy's topic in General Automotive
I think you better not to install those stupid lighting logos..It will show your vehicle like a three-wheeler or a fish lorries has all sort of fancy lights.. as some of the members pointed out here, it's a big distraction for the driver behind you. I also use toyota but I never thought of having those logos..anyway that's my personal view and you are free to go on and replace your original toyota badge with that... -
Don't expect a good punishment to those guys as this is Sri Lanka..The law here is only applicable to those who don't have any political connections...
-
What I have experienced practically..Prius 1500 cc and 1800 cc both perform well ahead of Insight...But even if insight is with 1300 cc engine that doesn't mean that Insight has a very low performance than Prius..both performs good enough for the purpose those car were designed...The other point is prius fuel efficiency is better than insignt..What I feel is Prius's weight to engine capacity ratio is slightly better than the insight..

Go for a Nissan Primera. It's big, heavy and good looking....you can find a good one within your price range If you do a little bit of search...
