Guys i didnt mean lie to or abuse the law... its like this bought several car parts all for personal use...and i have been out right honest and not only that have shown them the printouts of the auction page as well (when i remembered to take it that is). bought a Carina GT tail light and i was honest i said i couldnt find the light here n a normal tail light would cost 8000LKR i think but i got this from Japan for 3000YEN. there was an added benefit of the custom official being a rtd naval officer so had a nice chat n was charged 500LKR. B4 legacy trim set for the dashboard was immaculate u cant even argue it was used but that too was charged 1500LKR. No issues there as well. finally bought down strut bars n a light 3590Yen (2 strut bars) 1290Yen (tail light) these were honest prices i gave them. apart from tail light which was wrapped extremely well the strut bars can be seen as used with scratches etc... they charged 9000LKR for it??? i wasnt prepared for that much so i told them i didnt even bring that much. After a guy in customs who listened to all this said will do something to help n finally payed 4500LKR for taxes. this is why i said depends on the mood. M not doubting there work or anything like that. they were really good and explained why it was so high and next time around to be careful when ordering such. i thought used car stuff would have been taxed at least at a lower rate but maybe not. Being a bit humble and kind does go along way without charging in like a boss

Hmm.. didnt know Ali was that good should mingle a bit in there n see... main thing was i couldn't find the stuff i was looking for, for my car. eBay was good on that front and the Australian site delivered a few things i was missing. But nothing goes close to car part then Y J*p*n Au*ti*n. every little nut n bolt found in there was a gem. Customs will depend on the mood of the official as well. Yes you do get away with very low duty charges at times. Only reached 4k mark recently for a oem strut bar.

did u try eBay Australia n the usual eBay site? the max i have bought from Ali is a few LED lights. both site have not let me down. for this particular part might i suggest to go with eBay instead of Ali

I think the sticker option is better than painting also... paint should be original or else it will be a fuzz and trust me damn annoying as well. but since its a partial paint of the car i have no clue how the legal aspect would look at it. you are better off using a sticker which can be removed if it becomes a problem rather the respraying both hood n bonnet.

The brake light switch is connected to the brake pedal of the car. When you step on the brake pedal, the brake lights turn on. If the switch is faulty, the brake lights will not work. This happened to my previous car. After years of use the little knob that the switch is pressed upon went brittle n broke off. the light was on always. on this video you will see the purple colour knob which on mine was broken...maybe its the same as yours or even the switch might be at fault. here is another link as well

Bloody hell that looks Brilliant!!!

Guys small question not sure if this should go on thread but, let say there is a car right now in the market with a damaged chassis (unreg car), which can turn out very bad at high speed possibly potential life at risk. what can a person or buyer do to stop someone (car sale owner) like this? any legal action as such??
-
Well now, that's a better explanation

Yup, obviously no car would retain its original hp through time...its bound to reduce. a well kept car would least be in good nick.

Damn... That seems to be one epic drive...good to see the cars in their natural habitat

I would still advice you to go and get these cars checked at the places i have mentioned, IF ur still intending to buy these cars that is. there was a face-lifted B4 A/T up for grabs a few days ago m not sure how the condition is but you could have gone n checked it. This is the case with any car that's up on sale in SL. you are better off checking the car rather than finding out what u bought is a lemon

what ever is said... IMO a hybrid 2nd hand market should be dismal as time passes by due the main reason of the battery. 6-7years down the line you will not only have to face running repairs but also the battery replacement. BUT a normal car would not have the added cost of that.

Don't waste your time and money on something that's fake, even IF its is $3.38. your are better off saving that and keeping your car looking mint

he cannot tell most of the things as u well know since its a matter of the customer n also privacy noh... what u can do is take to CC n check it out for crashes etc... even go n check J @senok... in my case he told the rear bushes were gone plus there was a small oil leak from the tappet cover... the last of which he told the previous owner that he will have to tell me since i'll be buying it. the owner told it was okay... so i reduced the price a bit owing to the bushes etc. yes there were a few crashes hence why you should check with a place where they can inspect the car specially underneath it
-
well whatever car is up for grabs MT cars will go off pretty soon, whatever car is up for grabs it pays to check them soon and IF okay to buy them. so far haven't heard any news from "carmad".

IF you are referring to the one in balck, unless u prepared to go to come country to get the car that aint SL M pretty sure even a tuk tuk driver has a cam no need to put boru images up noh?? plus this guy has been putting up images from japan some of which i too have seen in google images long time back

How To Order/clear Car Parts Bought Through Ebay?
Muditha420 replied to Shack's topic in General Automotive
Well i have not ordered any bigger items from eBay only smaller items BUT have had the pleasure of getting a tail light for my previous car as well as interior trim for the one i have now through friends. smaller items will get delivered to your door step other you will have to clear from either Foreign parcels / EMS. pretty straight fwd go there pay the taxes get the item. But in terms of engines i think sourcing from here is better than opting to eBay, even though the price is less on some, once it arrives here the tax won't agree with you. few i know have used K*pr*ka BUT i have heard horror stories so, depends on your luck to get stuff from them. -
carmad did u get the info from agents??? any news on this coz i can't get any info from the usual people i know of about this car. did u get any pics of this yet? chances are IF u delay and IF this is a good car it might be gone by the time u decide to ask these people and get it checked out. so sooner the better i think

Haha Glad u enjoyed it... its 32km of winding road from Ingiriya and another 34km from Ingiriya to Panadura... Only went once on the B4 loved every corner other then that every month i go up there in the hilux
-
Its like the Axio... if you look at it long enough u think, it doesn't look all that bad
-
Mate find some images and post it or PM me... did u call senok like i mentioned before? will let you know about the B4.
-
there is a difference AT pumps out 265hp (4speed) and MT does 280hp (5speed) 0.6sec difference in 0-100km...will keep a look out mate edit: little bit of a correction here it should be hp and NOT bhp, my bad. Thanks Davy for pointing this out

No mate mine is a triptronic... few MT's i came across were not in a good way... only one i cam across was at a time when i couldn't afford it but that was a mint spec, now with a good owner. few Legacy's currently on the market were on i*man n those are not B4's but normal legacy's but you can do a conversion IF you are up to the task. Senok and CarChecks do inspection, Yes. what you can find out from Senok is IF the car has come there for regular servicing etc so u know the millage wasn't tampered and generally the current owner has taken good care of it by servicing in proper intervals. what the other place can do is give you a detailed inspection on the car suspension, body condition (accidents etc) tampering, overall engine and gearbox issues so n so forth. mind you you can't find all the issues in any car check up place but u'll have a decent piece of mind that you are paying for least a stable car for sometime without buying a lemon from your hard earned money. most of these cars what i think would firstly go in word of mouth and most likely will be sold like that before they hit the market. will keep a look out as well for you. but till then have a chat with Jehan at Senok he might know also.
