In what context? As a fishing vessel, for example, it is completely unsatisfactory.

Do you mean the Tacoma?

help Need help to choose a pre owned car
ShintaroX replied to Lannister's question in Car Buying Information
Sadly Abused EK3s are also aplenty. Dont the eg8s use carburettors? After wading through all the fibre, then you’ll get to the engine bay. Check whether there has been any signs of stupidity in there. I second matroska’s suggestions.- 8 replies

Project R - March 2018 - Katukurunda Drags
ShintaroX commented on Komisiripala's blog entry in Project R
Komi, nice to finally see this machine in the flesh (in the metal?) Reading the threads and blogs over the years, part of me feels that I've been on this journey with you. Wishing you and the 'teg the very best of luck. -
Exchange a used car plus cash for a new
ShintaroX replied to Wizard's question in Car Buying Information
Hi, I am the unofficial official auto Lanka mental health crusader. Here is my view: Will you be transferring the car into the dealer’s name? If not you will be selling on ‘open papers’ and that is illegal and risky - you are still responsible for your car until it is sold on. Mental health plummets. This may be why the dealer is hesitant to sign an agreement. Now this is slightly hypocritical advice because I myself have done this kind of exchange but in my case it with a known party, so if you don’t know this dealer I would advise you not to do the exchange, but sell you car and take the cash and lease. You’ll probably get more for your car too and you’ll need a smaller lease and your mental health will soar. Note: this was a free service, don’t worry. (Mental health FTW) -
Can i also recommend Komisiripala’s blog. There are some old threads too.

WagonR 2017 Or Picanto 2017 ?
ShintaroX replied to Darious Stone's question in Car Buying Information
You are the most appreciative question asker I’ve seen in a long time, thank you for raising the bar. -
Isn’t that “acclimatization” that clarksson mentions a load of tripe?

Toyota 86?

What do you mean by that?

Cosmetically? I’d say the back end of it is a failure. Mechanically? Maybe too soon to tell. The early adopters still look smug.

I respectfully disagree. And I apologise if I seem pernickity here. Some of the ”Jap brands” have some tyre models that are cheaply manufactured and so more easy to locate at the tyre shops in town. It is misleading to say that “Jap brands” are all better in the manner you say. There are Korean, European tires at comparable prices that offer much better performance than some models. Like with a lot of things in life, you pay a premium for the brand. For the OP, Personally I like: 1. Pirellis are superb. Perhaps a placebo effect due to the brand name, true, but they make me smile and isn’t that important? 2. Michelin has some solid offerings, but I think they are too expensive. 3. I like Hankook next, not because of the quality but that the quality and price match well. Plus my last set lasted ages and had great grip. I was NOT happy with Bridgestone B250, a “Jap brand” - they did not last long enough.

My nanos need energising regularly otherwise there is too much build up and then, well, it just doesn’t fire properly.

The axio will have much better fuel figures, but it will also win in another consideration: 3. The likelihood that people will think I am driving a taxi.

...and at the same time inconvenient. I recently moved from a hatchback to this same CR-V model iRage is talking about and the size of the car along the narrow Colombo (and out of Colombo I suppose) roads is something that takes some getting used to. The Aqua probably turns on a dime too; the SUV wont do as well which can make u-turns stressful.
-
I haven't had either car, but going by the interior and exterior of an aqua, I'd say it was most suitable for someone dead inside. No offense. And @zeem35comfort in an aqua? It has about all the comfort of a boil on the bum.

Doesn't sound pleasant at all. But look on the bright side, if you're going to be stuck in something, at least you have a choice. What about a Nissan Sunny? There is more space to move about.

Well I don't mind giving one seeing as you asked so nicely. I have an idea for a revolving driveway so that I don't have to reverse back out on to the road.
