  1. Machan what ever said and we need to give Thumps Up to Janaka Dias, Mahinda Premarathne and Mario Dias for runing the Event. Majority Decided to run at least on the Trial Run. We had 7 cars on the Trial Run on Sunday. ================================================== Following Picture is of Janaka Dias who won Gunners Super Cross and Mahinda Premarathne who won Gajaba Super Cross and This year they will take most Gravel Events. Thanks to both of the drivers and Mario Dias who thought about the spectators who traveled for 250 km to watch the Super Car Event and also to the huge crowd who had come to Tissa to witness the Races. Thanks to Dinesh J, Reyaz Faoruk, Rohan De Silva, Sanjeerw De Mel and Nalin Dilpriya for waiting until the Last Moment to race, but sadly the rain messed every thing up.
  2. infact I dont recomend 18 on the 3 because it will downgrade the Power, Change the Gear Ratios and will take a Hard beating on the Suspension, I would recomend only 15 or in Max 16. A Blinged 3. I hate that silver mesh though.
  3. True, It was lot of MUD. It rained after almost 4-5 weeks. So there was loose dirt. There was not a hint of rain until around 3 pm,
  4. Super Buy. Now Lets Pimp It,
  5. Thanks. Timing of the Previous Day was. 1 ) Janaka Dias Subaru WRX 2 ) Dinesh Jayawardena Lancer Evolution 8 RS 3 ) Mahinda Premarathne Evolution 6
  6. Also Pasidu Pieris , Ravi Mayadune and Gayan Sanduruwan won their Respective Categories. I wished the Organisers could have kept the Supercar Event when it was Dry, because all the drivers were ready for some gravel action. How ever Janaka and Mahinda Two Super Gravel Drivers did not disappoint the large crowd. Dinesh Jayawardena did not take part as he did not want damage his car as the Traction was nil. These are some of the pictures I took for Autolanka. Champion gravel Driver Janaka Dias Champion Gravel Driver Mahinda Premarathne Mario Dias in his Pulsar GTir gave a Super Display.

  12. Its proud to see Sri Lankans doing well. C P SAJITH Coimbatore, Feb 19: Sri Lankan drivers held sway in the Meco Motorsports - Kari Motor Speedway Race Meet 2007 held at Chettipalayam near here yesterday. Rohan De Silva and his son-in-law Dinesh Jayawardene clinched the two sprint races to begin the new motor racing season on a bright note. The Lankans stole the show as some of the promising Indian drivers had no answer to the speed and skills of the visitors. In the first sprint, it was a close tussle before the father nosed ahead in the 10th lap and coasted to victory. Problems with the brake put paid to the aspirations of pole-sitter Gaurav Dalal of India, and he had to be content with a fifth-place finish. The only bright spot for the Indians was Akkineni Anand Prasad, who placed third in the first sprint. Dinesh Jayawardena, who timed 12: 42: 497 in the first race and had to satisfy with second place, had a change of fortunes in the next race and led from start to finish to romp home in a time of 12: 49: 978. All in all the second race too saw the domination of the Sri Lankans as they captured the top three spots. Later speaking to reporters about motorsport back home, Rohan De Silva, leader of the Sri Lankan, said the sport was gaining in popularity and over 25 events were being organised every year by various club. Giving details about the major events conducted in Lanka, De Silva said other than races conducted by several clubs, national events and Formula Ford were major events. Talking about the tracks, he said there were two tarmac tracks, which were not recognised by the FIA. However, he said things were moving in the right direction with regard to setting up of new tracks. 'Until then we are looking forward to India for more races, as the quality of racing has improved tremendously,' he said. Further, he said that they purchased 10 new LGB cars from India and would be importing more soon in a bid to popularise motorsport.

Imagine the Amount of Preparation gone into Make these cars and these races are so fast, that the amount of mental strain on the drivers to take right decsions and driving tactics is just a mere split mili second. Infact all these cars i guess touch the maximum speed putting all these cars under pressure too. Its nice to see Nishan Returns to Track Racing after a long Lapse.
