The best deal I got for 235x70R16 (H/T) was Rs 18,500/= , think this is after a 25% discount off list price. Ripper : I too had a concern on the letters, but this can be put to the inside since there is no inside/outside issue also there is no specific rotation for these tyres. Scraping it off will make it look ugly also will it affect the wheel balancing ?

Its good to let the engine run for a few mnts before driving off, especially in the morning. I also avoid switching off the engine during short stops, letting it run is better as I heard somewhere that start ups contribute a lot to engine wear.

Does anyone know if the 1800/= ticket ( sold via anything) has a covered area ? Planning to bring the kids along but I don't want to take any chances if it rains. EK3 ViRS came in White and Dark Purple and Silver..... at least all the EK3 ViRS I have seen, cannot recall ever seeing a black one. Ventilated disks on all 4 ? quite surprising upgrade as the RS anyway has 4 discs which is good enough, my guess is its a modified Vi . Got any pics, will let you know for sure.

Well I just come across another tyre ( right down the food chain ) but its only Rs 14,700/= called KENDA , its made in Taiwan and from search on the net it looks a good deal. Now its either Maxxis for 18.5k or KENDA for 14.7k..... Think will go with Maxxis, but will try to squeeze a few more KMs out of the old tyres till Jan, too many expenses in December.....

Could it be that this itself is a indicator that something is wrong with the electrical system ? We have all the warning signs, check engine, battery, break, oil etcc... but there is no indicator saying electrical malfunction. Same thing happened to me as well and it was the battery terminals.... so its looks like a universal thing.

He's correct , and this is the same what I mentioned under post # 12 above. This means they have acted as a good agent by suggesting the correct product instead of trying to sell the most expensive oil in the range where they could earn a bigger mark up. Magnatec is a semi synthetic if I am not mistaken and perfectly ok your engine.

Honestly I dont stick to a fixed interval based on the KMs, but I do check the condition of the oil to see if changes color. This not much of a issue if you got a new motor. But I guess its around 7 to 8k Km intervals.

Not very familiar with Shell Helix Ultra, but I use Castrol Edge Sport, quite happy with the oil.

Although the battery terminals are tight it could be that these may need to be cleaned up with sand paper. But if this is ruled out for sure, it could be that the alternator is overcharging, which could have resulted in the power surge.. Have you noticed if the lights are brighter than usual ?

Guys , I need to get 4 tyres ( Size 235x70R16 H/T ) and here are the nominees.... a) Maxxis Rs 18,500/= ( Proven 4x4 tyre ) Cooper Rs 18,900/= ( US but not much prominence in 4x4, since I think Micky Thompson is a subsidiary ) c) Archilies Rs 15,400/= ( Indonesian brand, quite new , good thread pattern ) Key criteria is the price ( as you can see I have not considered the big brands which are all over Rs 20k ). Let me have your views and recommendations please. One more thing... Is it better to go for H/T or A/T ? I am assuming when they say highway there mean like super fast highways where you will be going at speed of around 100Km/hr , so there will be lot of issue on noise, vibration etc... But for Colombo running, which comprises of starts and stops and hardly reaching high speeds with the occasional bad road would a A/T be better option as there is more grip ?

How much did you have to pay these MACVUD for this ? Your car seems to be giving a lot of publicity for them so hope you got a good price....

4.5 to 5 is correct for a Auto..... I remember a lot was discussed in some previous threads, a quick search will get you a lot of other info on this. Unfortunately the Petrol sport is overpriced as there are so many permit diesels selling very low. If I were you I would stretch it and go for a diesel or opt for the X Trail or XL7

Something like this could happen to our ministerial escorts.... 10 or more 110's , Mercs , Range Rovers etc.. etc..
