  1. AE110 Sprinter u should be able to get within 14 but not corolla ( english number that is). ppl might say sprinter is not good but our sri lankans are like parents they will repeat whatever some grease monkey utters. both the cars exact same just the look is different. If your not bothered about the number 301 or 302 u can get easily for that price. I have a A110 Corolla it sure doesn't do over 10 kmpl, city max 9 kmpl. outstation 13-14 (auto trans). Well marinated n tuned. IMHO 323 is hopeless on fuel consumption but familia (Jap) is good. FB15 new model i heard do good on petrol. This what the users have told me.. Mazda familia is sporty n spacious. (8 - 9 Kmpl) AE110 poor leg room behind n not sporty at all. (9-10 kmpl) FB15 good car not good on fuel (7-8 kmpl) good luck!
  2. Hey guys, tnx for your replies. But as usual our so called experts check all worst cases before checking the minor things. I showed it to a guy who tunes racing cars he took 2 days n told check transmission oil n else need to remove the gearbox n see. Then i showed it to a guy at A*W he said the solenoid needs to be replaced (which would cost 20k). Just before i do what they told, i just downloaded the service manual n checked. To my surprise the blinking O/D error code is for LOW BATTERY POWER. Changed the battery it works perfect. Well i guess our experts need to look in to smaller details before they dig in. Or maybe they knew n tried to rip me off
  3. Hi, I'm having a Nissan bluebird car with new model (i.e. with coil pack) 1.8 engine. Recently the auto gear is acting strange. When i start for the first time it will not shift to 1 n 2 its stuck on 3rd n starts to move slowly. Once on the move if i off the engine n start again gear works fine n normal. Some times the O/D light keeps blinking about 15 blinks n stops. Has any1 else have experienced this problem? I heard that with the O/D light u can diagnose problems. Does any1 know how to obtaining auto transmission fault codes? Thanks,
  4. Wow.. 80Kmpl? I think TOYOTA will have to re-shuffle there Prius Engineering.. Wonder y our Gov is not bothered about these? I think they should really fund this project. Kudos to Thushara…
  5. I guess your engine is 4G15 n carb... the ideal RPM for this is 650(50+-) with a/c its 700 (50+-). If the engine does not idle at the same speed check your carb. i'm not sure who your mechanic is but i don't think he has ever seen a service manual. No mitsubishi idles at over 1000 RPM with or without a/c. Higher idle speed means poorly tuned. If your engine is EFI clean the sensors. this should bring the things to default settings. hope this helps..
  6. Hey dodge, how do u know these cars what u saw are non v-tech? cos from 98 onwards Honda engines does not mention v-tech on the engine. If u have the budget i would suggest u go for a honda rather than a Mirage cos hondas have a much better resell value than mirage... And u cannot match a Honda’s driving experience... As for the manual gear... i like the MULTIMATICS over manuals b'cos they give a very smooth drive and good response plus fuel economy.. Good luck...
  7. As far as i know this ##### is a crappy product which in the long run will ruin the engine. So make sure u do a research online. Most of these products give a instant boost but not recommended for everyday use. Try Lubeguard heard its good...
  8. Hi, I agree with Nim, cos i had a 90 single carb grand civic with D15B engine n it did about 11 per litre. did u check your engine for under compression? When u switch on the A/C if u see a dramatic reduction in power its a sure sign of engine problem. Its true for poor mileage also. U can find your engine model on the engine block. also check if the A/C compressor is the original than a modified 1 from a different car. D15B should produce about 90BHP so a/c does not make much of a difference if the engine is in good tune. good luck..
  9. Is this available in SL? looks like a great alternative for patrols.. http://www.topgear.com/drives/B5/A6/roadtests/15/01.html
