    I think I've sorted it out. I'm going to get the car today with leasing. I'll write about it later today here. It might help when people start looking for cars.

    Thanks for the tip. Today I talked with two leasing guys. Both of them said it's ok and they can offer cheque in different name other than the one in the book. But I suppose bank won't agree to it as they are more rigid. Has anyone gone through this open book / papers dilemma? What are your thoughts?

    So I suppose since the legal owner is the old guy, Bank may refuse the give a cheque for the new guy's name? Too much confusions.. why these buggers do this to us lol. He has the forms singed by the old guy, and also said if I want I can meet the old owner guy too. I paid 20K advance like a fool. Wondering whether I should confront him and ask the money back if getting a lease would be a problem. But then I have seen many open paper cars at sales. How do they manage?

    I have seen a car with Open papers. Car is in very good condition. I'm just wondering if I go for leasing at a bank, would there be a problem? Would they offer cheque in a name other than the name of the owner's name in the book? Any thoughts appreciated.

    Can someone recommend me a mechanic who would come with me to inspect a vehicle. I have seen a vitz and liked it, but since this is going to be my first car I'd need it to be checked by an expert. Thanks in advance.

    ///Maruti K10// has very bad resale value. People buy Indian vehicles since it's brand new, you will have hard time selling it to another person after using it for a while. Vitz 1000 is a good choice but the pulling power won't be enough if you load the vehicle fully. Why don't you consider Demio 2007 / 08 / 09 / 10 models? They have better design and has good reputation. I'm planning on one for a while now.

    It's a common scene for them. I bought a Yeti Mic vai them from US had to wait 2 months. You are luck to get it in one month mate.

    Sorry if I'm hijacking the thread. My situation is slightly different form the OP's situation as I have around 1.5M in savings and I make around 100K per month. My problem is when I want to go for a leasing (I'm thinking of 2008/2009 demio) the companies says that I should have worked at the same company I work currently for atleast 12 months. Damn, I joined the new company like 6 months back and I'm already a permanent employee there. For next 6 months I can't get a leasing.. that sounds so childish to me. I'm gonna give up on banks and gonna check with finance companies though it's more on the expensive side. Anyone else had similar experiences? any tips? Cheers.
