  1. Running a mini on the book? Running a mini on the book?
  2. Sad news indeed, liked them better than the Prado. Hopefully it will not be reintroduced in china looking like plastic Piumi Hansamali looking version. just like they did the “Grand Lancer”.
  3. Fb has a quite active local group on the Serena’s. Salty buggers though. Will abuse anybody who dares put a word against their G wagons(so they think). But a few minutes of browsing will tell you all you need to know.
  4. Do you still have the ad on the Z? The description. Im sure you get this all the time, but do you miss the Z? They are all the rage on the fanboy pages across social media. And asking CRAZY money. A red(NA) example was asking me 7mil. They sell fast too. I remember you mentioning on old old threads that it took a lot of time to move, such a sexy car though, If I say so myself. Tad overhyped though.
  5. Well, they had so many decades of selling all sorts of illegal products.Karma is in Kohuwala these days. The list of jil mart done by these crooks can be written endlessly, but that’s just a waste of my time.
  6. Update! The paint work is done. Handing it over to the AC guy in the evening. He will be done by the 3rd. All the nuts(each and every one) has been changed to stainless steel. Details Details. Await pics guys.
  7. Thank you for the detailed explanation. I would be happy to come see your work, when I am am back in Sri Lanka. The garage is owned by my brothers Wife’s Cousin. It is in Gamapaha. I will get the details of it. They are one of the biggest in Gampaha. They undertake new and old vehicles. The guy himself is a big off-road fan and has several old beauties he restored. They undertake any repair. Even full projects/restores and such. Their work is much better and much less costly than others. He uses german brands and such for paint works. The workmanship is also high. Not promoting them, but good work can be expected from them. The rust was very minimal and surface at most. All of that has been taken care of. Replacement was gladly not necessary. Regarding the undercoating. Since the Jeep will be used 90% off the trail and not be a pavement princess, we decided on a full coating using good quality wurth(super expensive) coating. We also did the full floorboard ,bumpers, side steps and others. We want to have the vehicle in immaculate condition.Costly but worth it in the long run. Sand blasting was done beforehand.
  8. Some updates guys! Undercoating was done.
  9. It even comes with a cover. Also you can fix hinges and a lock,so that you can keep them leaves away from prying eyes. And its also covered by any carpets on top. So if your like the magic plant. Jeep it is!
  10. I believe it’s a storage bin. The 2 batteries are under the hood like regular vehicles.
  11. Picture update. Tinkering and painting is being done. My bro is going OCD, or else there was no rust. He wants to make sure, So he’s re-doing everything.
  12. Yes. The app gave out nothing useful. @AVANTE bro, mind going detective mode?
  13. Check quick site. They have ads for dashboard crack repair/ replacements(for many models). Or you could buy a new dash (The new one might crack too).
  14. Why u no online man?

  15. Any idea what this is? Why does it look like a frankenstine? Hmmm
  16. I will do that. Take care.
  17. Indeed. Such a huge following, The Mitsubishi Jeep group has 58K members. Plus tons of other members with over 20k members. Thanks again!
  18. I was initially going to buy a Jeep Cj/Cb/willys. But they all have shady books and abused copies for sale. A BJ is awesome, but expensive and time consuming. The Mitsubishi Jeep is pretty common and easy on parts. Next up I would like a sahara 80. Or a Nissan Patrol.
  19. Keeping it the color as is. Just refreshing it. The parts were new. Didn't go for any used items. The used market is high and crazy. Our A6s 10k miles service cost 67 ? Gotta love these old school machines. They dont drain your wallet.
  20. You sure can Mr Sylvi. I am out of the country, but my brother lives in Colombo 5. If I am not mistaken you live in Colombo 3. I will ask him to come to see you. The work is planned to be done by the 15th August. I will PM you as soon as it's done! About the simplicity, very true. Just the good ol mechanicals,no complicated screens and tech. A basic set of tools would do the job for most repairs. Very hardy and robust.
  21. We had a 200O manual. Did the same figures as Perfmad. we got it for 15 in 2009(I think) and sold it for 16.65 in 2011. Solid car. Fun to drive. sits very low. Some might not like it. Very sporty for its price.
  22. The old GLA is tiny. Its only a hatch at best. Cramped inside. Cheap plastics. Yucky car. Hated the ride and engine groan. I had the 2.0 engine. plus the engines are made by Renault. Definitely not a quality merc product, just an entry level car for badge snobs. new one seems to be better, but I would still go for something else. BMW 225XE PHEV. That car looks like a Tata Indica/indigo. Uglyy. I would go for the X2 from your list. But the 2020 Facelift X1 is better(even better than the x2).
  23. No. Nothing original on them other than the body. Even those are replaced. All of them have Jap engines in them, and books are sold off for other vehicles it seems. Shame though. Would have loved a JEEP.
  24. Just wanted to update this thread. Bought a Mitsubishi Jeep instead of a JEEP Willys. I will post a link of the new thread for future reference. The reason we didn’t go for a JEEP was because the books are shady on them and most of them are missing the original US made engines. plus not many for sale and bloody expensive.
  25. So the list that’s being done up-to now. Changed Radiator and switched to coolant. changed Brake liners/pads/lines etc.Literary new brake system. Changed Clutch “packs” ,cables, etc. New handbrake cable and all new handbrake components. Full 4WD system overhauled. New differential. Rear Lights replaced. Fuel tank removed, cleaned, and floater replaced. Fuel meter is fixed. Batteries Serviced and charged. All bulbs changed. No LEDs, good ol halogen. All meters/lights/warning lights are up and running. All of them. Cost 78k for them all, not bad huh? Few more. Cant remember ? will update as I go. Sorry for not having pics. But hopefully anybody restoring a Mitsubishi Jeep will find this useful.
