  2. Saman - 0777551914. If it is 1.3 SPI automatic, then 10km/l is the average. it'll be 14 km/l if 1.3 SPI manual transmission. these are with A/C city running as per my experience.
  3. Congratulations mate!! Join the Mighty Mini Club for more excitement. Tunning EFI system involves nothing but cleaning and checking the fuel system and electrical components.. You can get it done from your nearby MINI specialist (Anuruddha-Kotte, Lucky-Kotte, Ranil-Kadawatha, Saman-Mirihana, Ajith-Seeduwa, Chamara-Katana, Siril’s son-Maharagama)
  4. Yes there will be timed runs. Any car with a roller cage can enter.
  5. Hi, I also had to replace master pump and slave cylinder washers within past 1.5 years. Seems like clutch washers need to replace once in every year in Defenders as they operate in a very high pressure comparing to other 4x4s. I was using BP multi grade engine oil in my 200TDI and recently switched to Laugh's new multi grade oil. GMI
  6. One of my friend's bought a locally assembled Toyota Corolla 121 from a BOI registered company like this an year ago and still he couldn't get the registration from RMV.

  9. Hi, Daily Mirror said "vehicles manufactured before 1975" (http://www.dailymirror.lk/DM_BLOG/Sections...spx?ARTID=45715) and Daily News said "vehicles which were registered with the department before 1975" (http://www.dailynews.lk/2009/04/09/news15.asp). Can someone confirm whether the exemption is for vehicles manufactured or registered before 1975? I got a vehicle which was manufactured in 1970 and registered in SL in 1978 thanks GMI

Yes. they clean the surface, apply a thin layer of copper and do electro chrome plating.
  11. It was in a shop just before Delkanda IOC gas station on LHS, when you are proceeding from Maharagama.
  12. I've seen a red used spoiler some time back in Delkanda. if you are interested, I got one alloy powder coated adjustable spoiler came in a K11 from Japan. GMI

  14. yeah around 20 were for the Drive. I was referring to the track event
  15. I’ve heard that only 4 ~ 5 classics turned up for actions (though the committee alone has 20 odd members) and sponsors had to bear utter loss on this event – wonder whether this is true?
  16. hi guys, can we identify 3 / 5 ppl to statup the club initially? GMI
  17. count me in
  18. If the temp is constant below red range in the gauge, it's god to go. Slightly above half is the normal range in many Minis. However, if the car is not boiling, nor you feel very hot inside the passenger area, behind the firewall it's good to go. I hope you run with a 3 core radiator. If your engine is for leaded fuel and if you run unleaded, there could be a working temperature increase. All in all, still there is a fault in your heat exchange system as you experience 2 different working temperatures with and without A/C - when you use a thermostat, working temperature should be constant. If you have 45Amps alternator, you will experience battery drains if you run short distances with head lights, wipers, A/C, stereo, and fog laps on. It's better to have a 75/90 amp new alternator - you can buy an Indian one for around Rs.3000- or can get a brand new Lucas one for around Rs.6,500-. the same alternator goes in to Land Rover, Massey Ferguson tractor and for some other English cars. Japanese used alternator is the best option (as charging is controlled by ICs) if you do not worry on using English or English look alike spares. GMI
  19. My view: This is a common problem for most of SL car and motor racing clubs - our senior generation is very keen in their prestige and they don’t realize or think the long future ahead. Everything will resolve gradually when the Committee of CCC is taken over by next generation. Now they have couple of young individuals and the number will increase gradually.
  20. My proposers were Thishan & David and I handed over my application to Mr. De Silva in a Sunday drive last year. The letter I received says that the committee did not approve my application. I own 1961, Fiat 600D, and a 1960 Morris Mini. Finally I decided not to talk t Mr. De Silva as I now do not have an interest of joining CCC. Regards, GMI
  21. I own 2 classics to satisfy the club's standards and requirements to be eligible to apply for membership. However, after sending my application with photos of my cars, I got a letter after about 3 months saying that my application is rejected. there were no specified reasons and still no reply to my 2nd letter. One classic car member told me that the reason could be Mini's - officials are said to be hating Mini's and Mini owners - but i do not believe. all in all I thought of joining the CCC to serve them, not with expectations of getting anything from them.
  22. My Classic Car Club membership application got rejected with no specified reasons, otherwise I should have joined  If the club welcomes non-members for this event, please let me know. Thanks, GMI
  23. David - 0112820649 another option could be Ranil @ Kadawatha - 0602197314 / 0777322440
  24. Starting time changed to 9:00am as lunch is providing. GMI
