  2. Alright, thanks davy will do The previous owner said, he had an issue with the starter motor and he fixed it...however after i bought it, in certain occasions, I encountered situations where the engine doesnt crank, but heard only the clicking noise.. so i got the starter motor fixed..and the engine not cranking issue went away...willl get the afformentioned points checked....thanks
  3. since it works fine the second time (engine starts in like 1 second), still would it be a starter motor issue?
  4. Yes correct...but the second time it starts perfectly.... ok now i went and started it and it started the first time:| not everytime this happens....75% of the times it starts at the 2nd start...
  5. Starter motor cranks the engine..but it drags and stops like how it cranks and drags when the battery is about to be out...ahh ok, so I will have to replace the fuel pump then....then this also explains the high fuel consumption in city limits yeah?.....wonder how Mr. Dhammika didn't notice the pump is worn out...
  6. 2 cats jumped into the middle of the road when I was cruising at 80km/h at 3am in the morning and knocked onto my car even though I tried hard to stop :(

  7. Ok so this was there from the day I bought the car but since the car functioned properly I didnt pay attention to this....When I turn the key the first time it and start the car it doesnt start, be it cold start or warm start..it gives like a battery dead noise & stops, but when turn the key the second time and start the car it starts perfect...but without starting, if I on the ignition at first & switch off the ignition once & start, then it starts the first time..scanned,checked battery, alternator, ecu, starter motor & everythng was said to be fine & nothing is wrong...so what may be the cause for getting started the 2nd time I turn the key always & not the 1st?...and should I be concerned about this?
  8. Update on the outstation fuel consumption.... 18.5km's per litre... the difference between the city limits consumption and outstation is huge...
  9. that im not sure of... usually he has everything in order just like me..
  10. Steering wheel is going to be harder than before.. I tested this out.. My friend has 205/85/15 tyres and my car has 175/70/14 and we both have the same car... we swapped the cars and took it for a spin. The difference we felt was the steering wheel feel. The bigger tyre is hard to steer (it does not have control, it goes the way it wants and cannot dominate and and its hard)
  11. So finally found a good camera and took some quality shots
  12. And this is another good cover of MORE THAN THIS...
  13. well I have to agree with Mudhitha.. recently I bought an entire center panel from Japan Auctions for restoration project and at the customs I wasn't taxed a single cent.. since I entered the custom office I wore a huge smile on my face and entered and smiled at every office, and when I was in the queue, when I smiled at an officer he called me and asked what's the purpose I was there.. I said i have to clear a car part.. then he said, they are going to tax for car parts coz usually car parts are being taxed heavily and he said if they tax me heavily, to tell him and he will clear it out for me without or with a lower tax... I said ok and when my turn came, once again i put a huge smile and the baby face and went to the clearing officers and they looked at me and asked how much the center panel was... in the packaging also I mentioned to the seller to invoice it as 800yen and I said it was only just 800yen, which was a lie.. (when buying from japan auctions you get the opportunity to state the amount in which the invoicing should be done to avoid customs tax's) and since it was sent by EMS the parcel was wrapped in a huge box kinda wrapping.. they looked at me for a few seconds and said ok fine you dont have to pay a tax... so it actually depends on the mood of them and also its how you approach them with a pleasant smiley face and be humble... make them have a good impression on you and you will walk in with a jail free card
  14. in service stations they use a hand wiper like this after washing, to wipe off the water... like this... does anyone know where can i get this from sri lanka or what you call this? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Speedway-Chrome-Plated-Single-Hand-Crank-Manual-Windshield-Wiper-/131499815941

after 2000 there were nothing made.. and now in japan the preseas are scraped down into parts.. same in SL, lil by lil preseas are scraped for parts.. my friend sold his presea last week when I told not to and now he is crying.. he wants it back..but I've come along way.. now we have 15-20 preseas in our club..started off with 3..

I think your next move should be to buy a car in japan, scrap it and bring it down here. That has always been on my mind for relatively rare cars which I'd like to own, like the Ceres/Marino, or the Corona EXiV/Carina ED.

  17. I'm a fan of Roxy Music/Ferry..And I'm an 80's and 90's song lover... Fox FM plays some good 80's and 90's music I listen to when driving... More than this, Avalon, Jelous guy, Dance Away, Oh Yeah are my favourite tracks of them...
  18. I had a medical condition in my spine where I couldnt press the clutch anymore so had to sell the manul and buy an auto
  19. Update on the fuel economy of this....It does 7km per litre in city... didnt try outstation yet... will update once done...
  20. Had to spend 3 additional lakhs to buy the same car I sold 5 months back
  21. lol no its a Presea.. I think now after the tuneup it does around 7 or 8.. will give the exact figure tomorrow..
  22. Usually, if its a 10-15 year old car, and if a tuneup hasnt been done, the test cycle values could go wrong.. Usually we as car enthusiasts do a tuneups just after we buy a car but most car buyers wont do it and if they rely on test cycles it wont be accurate because within that 10 or more years of time, fuel efficiency can go down drastically.. for an example when I bought my new car recently, before the tuneup it did only 3km per lire in city.. and now after the tuneup it does more, didnt check the correct value after the tuneup yet...
  23. Well for some cars, you can't really predict the fuel economy (specially nissan).. For an instance the FB14 and the Presea has the same engine, but FB14 folks tend to say it has a good fuel economy than the presea hence the higher market... and also some presea owners say their auto does 11,12 which some say their does only 6,7... so car to car and the way you drive, it differs, so how can we provide or an average fuel economy for cars...
  24. After seeing this Dark Blue Presea picture from New Zealand now I want a Dark Blue Presea as well... I swear, I swear you guys my next Presea restoration is going to be Dark Blue.. I can't seem to get over this Presea Addiction.. :/ http://i.imgur.com/crNYwrg.jpg
