My New Ride : Mistubishi Lancer CS1 GLX (A/T) YOM 2007
Hyaenidae replied to Sampath Gunasekera's topic in General Automotive
OEM parts pricing is just ridiculous sometimes. @K.o.N.o.S was quoted 17k for an OEM brake cylinder by the agent, the OEM one does cost more than 10k on eBay w/o shipping (from trustworthy europe based top-rated sellers) while the same brake cylinder made by Brembo could be bought for 5k-6k including shipping by sellers of the same caliber. Why? Brembo can't be making products inferior to whatever company makes OEM brake cylinders for Mitsubishi, right? -

Ah. Yes, I was using the international standard to decode the model code; never knew JDM Lancers had a different coding system -

It seems your model code is missing one denomination, it usually has a L or a R to denote if the car is LHD or RHD. The number you're asking about comes after that, the market which the car has been sold in - for example no. 6 means the vehicle has been sold in the European market. I reckon the number 2 would mean the car has been sold in the Japanese market. -
17k? WTH? You could get a Brembo brake cylinder from eBay for 5k! https://www.ebay.com/itm/BREMBO-Wheel-Brake-Cylinder-A-12-397/162695050515 https://www.bremboparts.com/asiapacific/en/catalogue/hydraulic/A_12_397 https://mega.nz/file/m41mWCjD#Pjmznpe42xUPT32wOi8tgxv0X_2G80TML6sj7eN8k1s

01. In the model number I understand "CS2ASTJE" part , but not the number 2. What is denoted by number 2 in this model? It means this car has a 1500CC engine. CS1 - 1300CC CS2 - 1500CC CS3 - 1600CC 02. Can someone confirm whether this is EFI? I can confirm this is an EFI engine. Here's how to differentiate a GDI engine from an EFI engine: https://elakiri.com/threads/mitsubishi-lancer-gdi-ද-බලමු.1882176/ 03. Is there any specific issues with this model of the car as your know? There are no inherent issues with the EFI CS2 as far as I know. 04. Immediate things that need attention on as I inspected are replacing windscreen, front ABS sensor, paint dicky room & car undercoat (signs of corrosion development), engine tapet cover and oil seal replacement (signs of oil leaks) and interior cleaning. Due to these, owner agreed for 2.4 Mn. Is this reasonable price with respect to market prices for CS2 recondition model? Car has not been maintained at agents and no previous service/maintain reports not available with current owner. Is there a way mileage can be cross checked. When inquired from Unit#d Mot#rs they said it can be done, but as per my knowledge mileage tampering can't be identified through scanning. please provide your views on this as well Seeing as 2007 CS1s go around 2.5mn and CS2s and CS3s are hard to come by I'd seriously consider buying this if I were you, but lack of service records is somewhat disconcerting... It's good that you opted to get the car inspected by UNIMO, make your decision based on that report. About mileage tampering, it's advised that one should consider every vehicle that has no verifiable service records as a mileage-altered vehicle. Sometimes you can detect mileage tampering via scanning but that's not a given (The ECU records the mileage when you clear DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) so if there has been a recent DTC clearing you might be able to detect if the mileage has been tampered with. If there has been no recent DTC clearing you won't be able to confirm mileage tampering that way. -

@E L N I N O is the guy with the experience... wonder if he is still around Granted that lowering and upgrading the wheels would massively improve the looks but are you sure you don't want the extra ground clearance?

That's quite a lot of gunk right there... did they flush your brake fluid too?

Don't know for sure... @iRage might be able to shed some light on this anyways it's good they have that mandate in place since we don't have the means to recycle the batteries ourselves in SL.

Because you can't buy a new battery from Nissan Japan without returning your old battery

Correct! Your turn! It's a Fortuner Davy, the black bit on the front bumper runs all the way to the fogs unlike the Hilux. And the Lancer has fared much better compared to the Fortuner That's one way to make a sleeper I guess. But most likely this is an EX with an Evo bodykit Right? The Lancer white looks much better than the Fortuner white.

Since there are no takers how about this one... not the glaringly obvious one, the other

Check if the A pillar has an airbag symbol

Congratulations and wish you many happy kms with your new ride! How is the fuel economy? Do a tank-to-tank fuel economy check next time you refuel the vehicle

Don't tell me you got your lady nano-coated. I'd be envious.

Toyota axio 161(non hybrid version)
Hyaenidae replied to Amazing 007's question in Car Buying Information
1300CC version is seriously NOT recommended. The difference between the two cars (1300CC vs 1500CC) in power is mind-bogging whatever the numbers are. A diesel Bolero truck can smite the hell out of a 1300CC axio. -
Well where's the dedicated thread? It's customary to create a thread dedicated for your new vehicle to thank and share pictures, reviews, maintenance info, adventures etc with the forum members who helped to choose your new ride. Examples:

Very accurate. Damn 10mm socket can't be found when you need it the most.
