Me on the passenger seat be like :
  2. Service brake = Brake Pedal next to the accelerator E-brake = Hand-brake/Parking brake 1. Apply Service brake fully 2. Shift the car to N 3. Apply E-brake fully 4. Release the service brake, Make sure the car is stationary (make sure the car is held by the E-brake) 5. Apply service brake again 6. Shift the car to P 7. Release the service brake 8. Switch the engine off Get used to this routine. You'll be doing it this way by muscle memory in no time
  3. Well, at least the Alto might have better acceleration than the CS1... I guess Pity your father got rid of the CS before you had a chance to drive it... you wouldn't have let it go if you got a chance to "taste" it properly
  4. Would your father veto this one https://i k m a n.lk/en/ad/mitsubishi-lancer-glx-cs1-2008-for-sale-colombo-8 I mean it's perfect for your requirement and budget, most probably it's the first owner From what I can see it's a carbon copy of this when it comes to maintenance and ownership, only newer
  5. 94°C sounds normal, the thermostat of my 1600CC fully opens at 95°C
  6. Try 1E732423 (If it doesn't work double check the ERC)
  7. Post your request on this thread:
  8. How many times have you bottomed out your 121 (And the Allion)? I've bottomed out mine only once during my 4 years of ownership. Even then there were no other people in the car, I just tried to go down a very steep gradient which wasn't meant for a car to go anyway... scratched one of the 2 metal bars running under the car, no other damages
  9. If the LX badging is factory it might be a Euro import or an AU import If you can get the VIN you can use a VIN decoder to find out where the car has been manufactured Other possibilities: Aftermarket badge / Rear dicky door replaced with one with a spoiler (recon part shops offer to trade-in the dicky door with no spoiler + cash for a dicky door with spoiler) / rear dicky door replaced due to car being rear-ended / entire rear half replacement due to a severe crash
  10. Get your learners permit and go for a drive around Colombo roads to see how enjoyable it is You'll love living in the country then
  11. Original Post : http://www.elakiri.com/forum/showpost.php?p=24224073&postcount=79 Moral of the story : Failure to do your homework before buying a car could spell disaster regardless of the brand. Had he inquired about buying a GDI 4G15 he would've learned that it was a bad idea.
  12. It would certainly do 8-9kmpl in the city limits if not more
  13. Why don't you go for a CS3? GP1 has an inherent oil burning issue
  14. You have to open a new thread. Go to "car buying info" section http://autolanka.com/forums/forum/75-car-buying-information/ and click "Ask a question"
  15. Jokes aside, congratulations m8! Seeing as you have a Demio in Sri Lanka I can totally see you buying this as a grocery getter for your wife (Although a VRX along with the RA would have made your garage look totally badass and drool-worthy)
  16. You guys make me feel like I'm abusing the car by carrying 5 or more people on a frequent basis
  17. Be as that may, remind me to not get on your bad side ?
  18. The CS must be the most discussed car on AL forum. Here are 2 threads you might find useful: http://www.elakiri.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1882176 http://www.elakiri.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1882425
  19. To me too... they don't have that attitude most auto-technicians seem to have, the notion that they don't have to listen to the customer or take his concerns seriously because they're the ones who have automotive degrees and overalls and the safety gear and whatnot. They are exceptionally open about what they're doing to our cars (they let you stay next to your car and observe everything) and what they're putting into our cars.
  20. This is a "JDM" problem. I had the exact same issue back when I owned a Belta while a colleague who owned a Yaris claimed he never had this issue.
