well its in the old days that we had to charge a new battery before installing it on the car. Recently got a battery for car from Browns and the procedure was the same..they just put the battery water and gave me the battery but i didnt experience any problem at all. If the problem continues i suggest you take the battery to the place where you got it from and get it checked..

if i remember right the nissan owners manual recommends 15-40W or 15-50W in hot countries..but there wouldnt be any problem in using the oil that you have mentioned in your post..anyway lets wait till the others comment on this matter..

Mr.Dammika is a popular carb tuner. As fas i i know he is the only one who uses an O2 sensor when tuning a carb.most of the mechanics tend to tune(adjust air to fuel ratio) carbs by listening to the sound of the engine, etc which isnt the correct way of doing it.I have taken several cars to his place and have never experienced any probrem at all. But i am not sure whether he tunes EFi cars..whats your email addy? if you want i can send his phone number so that you can contact him and get more info.. -

Hi Don, does Zakie carry out normal(not performance) tune ups as well? i thought he was only carrying out performance tuning.. thanks. -
Hi dodge, 99 subaru is a cool ride..however there are couple of thing that i need to point out.one of my friends has a 99 impreza (manual) and i have had the chance to drive the car several times. Im terms of fuel efficiency i was not very satisfied since it only did around 9-10Km within city limits with the A/C on.The feel of the car was not bad at all and also liked the smoothness of the engine. However i dont think that this particular model would be as fast as a equivalent honda civc.Once we raced this against a manual EK3 non VTEC civic and the civic won by one car's length.Since you love speed my suggestion is drive a civic in the same range before taking a decision.the civic does 11Kmpl in city with A/C..anyway this is my experience, other members may have different views.

in SL black is harder to maintain than the lighter colours and the all the dirt and scraches would be visble very clearly.. so my suggestion is go for some other colour other than black.but if you have enough time to maintain the paint work then black would be the best colour to have on a car provided that it goes well with the model. And i agree with MAS on the vlaue aspect

strange..i have a honda ES8 mnaual whichh i borrowed fron one of my friends.According to that you gotta play a little bit easy with the car during the first 1000KM(well nissan one says 1600km).these are the guide lines mentioned there in the owners manual.. 1.Avid full throttle starts and rapid acceleration 2.Aviod hard braking.New brake pads need to be broken-in by moderate use for the first 300KM(200 miles) 3.Do not change oil until the recommended time or distance interval shown in the maintenance schedule.

yup vacum pipes are common on carb engines..they are there to carryout diff tasks like maintaining the idle speed at normal load conditions, idle up when the A/C gets switched on,etc...and these are all connected to diff valves such as A/C idle boost solenoid valve, primary slow mixture cut off valve, throttle controller control valve, air bleed valve, etc

got a nissan N16 owners manual and it says not to go beyond 4000rmp within the first 1600km.and it also states that you should avoid full throttle acceleration in any gear..the best thing would be to refer the owners manual and follow the instructions given there...

well my advice is just that when you get a used car its a must that you carry out a full service on the car.get all the oils in the car changed, even if the service centre guy says its ok for several thousand miles..compair the cost of that with the value of the car.even if the oil looks a bit new you never know when it was changed the last time.and always keep in mind that oil should be changed after a specific time period regardless of the actual miles travelled..as for the ATF, its normally said that its sould be chanded once every 40000km or every 2-3 years, which ever comes first.and always use an ATF exchanger when changing ATF..

yup there was a recall but wasnt it only for the USDM models?
-
i heard that A*W(nissan dealers) is having a service joint somewhere in borella where they service any brand.isnt that a good place to get all these things done?
-
head check would be somewhat difficult on SL roads bc you never know when the tuk tuk going infront of you would stop..head check is alright if the traffic is travelling at a constant speed on a motor way where you have some distance between the vehicle going infront of you and your car.....dont you guys really hate when the bus drivers horn telling you to close up the 5feet gap between the car going in front and your car?
-
just a question, does this sound insulation really work? its a lot of money that they are charging for it, so its always better to know whether it really works. have you guys even driven a car which has WURTH sound insulation?

thanks a lot for the info machang..

damn, the prices seem to have gone up a bit...anyway good luck with the new paint job. I checked the lable on the old paint tin and it clearly says Nexa 2K paint so i think your problem is solved now.
-
then the TP number that i gave is the right one bro.bc first i went to CIC head office and asked them where i could get 2K paint from so they are the ones who told about that place..
-
did you call them bro? did my tip work out?
