the multifunction is not an option in the G package. You can get it fixed locally for about Rs.45000/= or less. As far as i know there is a difference in the optitron meter of the normal and G package. It appears in the original documents of the car. With the duty increase that sounds a good price for a G package.

Yes silver is the cheapest then comes white. wine is almost hand to hand with black but black is the most expensive colour!

Is this "Value of Color" (this silver, white, black, etc levels) thing is introduced by our folks or does it really mean when you buy cars in abroad, or when importing? B)

What I heard is the Car sales people have so many opt levels like this to increase the prices of latest cars. Is that true?

From what I have gathered (by talking to a few people who are involved in the auto industry in Japan as well as trawling through the Japanese auto auctions) the most popular colours for cars in Japan are Silver and White, hence they are the most commonly available colours available at the auctions. Black is a fairly unpopular colour so there aren't that many available at the auctions.

From there onwards it's a case of basic Supply and Demand.

More white and silver available = lower price.

Less black available = people bid higher so higher price.

What I'm curious about is this strange colour that has made its way into Sri Lanka called 'Pearl White' now I've seen several of these so called 'Pear White' cars here and call me blind but I honestly don't see the difference from bog standard white to 'Pearl White'.

Car sale guys now claim that Pearl White is more expensive than standard white.

But curiously not a single car sale I've been to recently has 'White' cars they're all 'Pearl White'

hmmm methinks a pattern emerges

Now according to the Honda website they have a colour called 'Premium White Pearl' which is what they call their white

Toyota has a colour called 'Super White' which is they call their white

Sorry if this is out of topic but thought I would respond to a comment about white and silver and how car sale guys try to pull wool over people's eyes.

Oh and don't even start about the ubiquitous 'Beige Interior'

Generally automotive paint was either solid or metallic. metallic looked nicer and was more expensive.

more recently, there is a "improvement" of metallic that is pearlescent, which is even more expensive.

BTW I don't know if this is the correct explanation for "pearl white" in Sri Lanka
