Toyota Townace Engine Problem

Hi,

My brother in law has Townace lotto. Now it has engine problem when driving. Sometime vehicle get stop suddenly. Specially when trying to slow the vehicle from 3-4 gear.Several times experienced that issue after the completion of journey went through highway.

Also ealier experienced some performance (pickup) issue as well. Sometime it running smoothly but suddenly it slow without any gear change.In one day van go stopped and that time mechanic couldn't able to start the engine properly until gave the diesel directly. We experienced very smooth run (performance) after that temp solution.

Then after the inspection a mechanic fitted new diesel filter and diesel pump. He cleaned the tank as well . Problem was resolved only for two weeks .But after that again problem occurred.Then again cleaned the tank and fitted new diesel filter but still sometime it happens.

So anyone know what will be the problem here? Also let me know any good place to do the inspection(around Galle area is prefer)

I'm no expert or mechanic, but since its got a 2C sounds like the fuel pump... But since you say you "replaced the pump" only thing thats left in that array are the fuel lines and the injector nozzles, better check that too..

Also since its a while just check for the compression of the engine as well; however the above symptoms are not common with compression issues though.. guess someone with more knowledge will sort you out..

you service the injector pump and replace the injector nozzals and pressure them. this issues happen because you not use original Diesel filter. when you not use original diesel filter, water coming to fuel pump and injector pump. then both get damaged. for injector pump service you have to spend around 10,000/- from normal places and Toyota lanka will cost around 30,000/- including 4pcs DENSO injectors.

if you love your vehicle and expect smooth running,

1. Use original or equal diesel filter

2. drain water from the filter 5000km by 5000km

3. change diesel filter after around 15,000 or 20,000 km

4. use genuine or equal air filter, clean the filter every 3500km and replace every 15,000 or 20,000 km

5. use Genuine or equal oil filter and replace every 7000km

don't use low cost filters. they will eat your engine. its sure 100%

Check if air is being drawn into the fuel line.

Thanks all.

We observe this problem regularly after speedy drive(around 100km/h) or long drive. Mechanic there are no problem in injectors.
