just didnt felt right at all,

the flasher light is too yellow, less settings in the camera.. the menu is similar to the HTC sense.

but on the plus side. it does have better build quality

I don't have any experience with MotoBlur stuff, not heard too many good things about it, but the flash doesn't bother me at all. I have an SLR for anything of importance, even with the pretty darn good cam on the Sony I've taken less than 100 pics in almost 1 year. Compare that to the over 2500 clicks I put on my SLR last weekend...

trust me peri, the simple things will drive you nuts later. its just not camera. the UI just feel old

Any chance on finding an emulator online? sorta to preview?

Google has just released plans on the direction it'll be taking with Moto, I'm still hopeful. Anyway, I'll also want to consider the next Nexus phone, it should probably be out by the time I'm going to upgrade.

and yea love the nexus series. pure android OS,.. and the nexus will come with the jelly beans OS. im enjoying un-touched ICS android experience on my huawei tab. its just better and smoother.

I have no freaking idea why Samsung adds that touchwiz on top of the lovely default android OS them! :sport-smiley-005:

Amazon has the Photon Q on pre-order. Conversion says Rs. 72k + change. With credit card charges, probably 75k

Expensive business, this phone malarky. The Nexus is looking much better despite not having a physical keyboard. I think a 4+ inch screen has space for a virtual keyboard big enough for even my fingers.

thats a bit too much for a Motorola IMO

and youll get the hang of it, im big as you (maybe bigger) and always used phones with the qwerty physical keyboard and was afraid to go for a full touch, but i can work fine with the 4.3" display in my phone

Palm based PDA from a company called Handspring. This is the Visor Deluxe. The company went belly up a long time ago, so I bought a few for sentimental reasons. And yes Celltel because the older phones have the network names hardcoded without any ability to be overridden except by a logo.

And the PDA is communicating with the Nokia through IR and there's a data connection established. I use the setup to check pop3 mail.

Why bother about the UI, Most part you will be spending on the Home screens and the Menu, which can be simply changed with a Launcher Or tinkering with custom ROMs. My theory is; if you love the device and hardware just go for it, Play store and XDA devs will take care of the rest

XDA devs have no love for phones with keyboards. Cyonogen doesn't concentrate too much on that either, I follow Steve Kondik's G+ stream. And Moto tends to have locked bootloaders.

Besides, you can get useful software with the phone. My current phone came with McAfee and Office Suite Pro onboard, and Office Suite is damn useful for me, and its over $15 on Play Store. And we can't even install it here since the paid apps aren't available! There is also Moxier Suite, which would be useful if it weren't for the security on the company servers. Even the Photon Q is supposed to have a whole bunch of useful enterprise apps. The qwerty phones tend to be targeted at business people so they tend to have enterprise software. And I do use my phone a lot for work.

Although if I can get the next Nexus and the Nexus 7 for the price of the Photon Q.... well, I'll have to go full Google.

the home screen and the menu is the UI

and i hate launchers. since its 3rd party it just doesn't feel right and custom roms arnt bad but still every different rom has its up and downs. best thing to do is play it safe and go for a samsung or sony. or an a phone with untouched android OS

I'm just curious about all you guys that spend so much on phones. Would it kill you to just get a phone that can text and take calls? I mean seriously. I've only bought one phone in my entire life and the rest have been hand-me-down's from my obsessed brother. Each new phone I receive seems to have more and more useless features than the prior. In fact. The last phone I truly likes was the razr. Everything else is just a contest on who has the biggest p*nis. I mean try using a HSDPA connection to watch porn on a 3 inch screen...pretty useless to me. I seem to break one of these phones every six months or so. Back in the day you could drop a phone, pick it up ad take a call. Now, you will start crying because you broke the screen of you phone that cost 90k.

Besides, I said it somewhere before, if you don't use it, its fine. Personally, I use a lot of the features. And that includes for office work. Its a little more convenient than lugging a laptop around.

Heck, I even read most of "Game of Thrones" on my phone.

And even old phones have other features than call and text. Even 3310s had calculators and alarms. The last time I remember using a proper alarm clock was over 10 years ago.

And quite possibly, the day will come when all you need to leave home with is a Personal Electronic Device that will handle your calls, carry out your payments, act as an ID card and drivers license, start your car... And it might not even be a traditional phone form factor. Might be like Project Glass.

true. it has almost eliminated the use of my laptop which is now lying at home.

I do use the alarm as well. Although I believe snooze should be banned

Though some phones could end up as an overkill for me, I use plenty of features of the phone and many useful non-time-killing apps.
