Nishan Weerasuriya Takes A New Record At Eliyakanda Hill Climb

Recommended Posts

Nishan Broke a Very Very Old record set in his Evolution IV and came first at Todays Eliyakanda Hill Climb followed by Daze the Blaze Dahanayake in his Evo 6 GSR. ( Held in Matara )

Nishans time was 35.92 and it seems he could have done better with his Evolution 9 GT. But he may have lost a second when he overshot a corner.

Sadly Nishan Might not take Part in Next Weeks Kukuleganga Rally Organised MRA due to Company Function. Last MRA rally he got the Fastest Overall Timing to come 1st in a Totally Standard Evolution 9 beating all odds.

Well Done Nishan and All the Best for other Drivers who are competing in Kukuleganga Rally

Congrats Nishan !!!!!!!!!

No matter he is such an talented driver with a super fast car. In hill climbs for sure he is pretty fast in his Evo 9GT and recently stepped to rallies and begining to dominate there as well.

It is sad to hear that he is not taking part in Kukuleganga rally. defenetely there would have been a big challange for rest of the competitors as he won the last rally in great style in a standard car. I remember he won one stage on the same rally with 3+ minutes faster to keep behind most of well known drivers.

Congrats for rest of the class winners too......

There may be a surprise or two in order at KKG. We had expressions of interest from 6 or 7 serious GT runners.

Seems like cat jumped out bit early :D .

Nigel Perera running a Starlet GT in SL-GT Class navigated by KLM

Aravinda Premadasa running his Evo 7RS navigated by Tharindu Perera

Javid Wahab running his Civic SIR in SL-GT Class

Good Luck KLM for your promotion from " Clerk of the Course " to " Navigator " :D

You are right. but the sand bags will give some kind of a protection :)

Grand Civic

Unlike in closed circuit racing, in rallies you don’t get sand bags or for that matter any other additional safety measures, but just the lamp posts and trees beside the road :( . The only thing the organizers would do is to tape the byroads to guide the crews not to take a wrong turn.

As Lalithster said, if you miss a corner better be prepared with wings :D

Dont know about wings, but make sure you have a nice pair of boots handy to crawl out of a paddy field!!!!!
