How can i identify whether i have to change it immediately. How to check the Oil. 0 Az Posted July 16, 2008 Share Posted July 16, 2008 You need to change the ATF oil every 40,000 Km I think. The color of the oil should be something like wine red, not brown or dirty. To check the oil level, first start the car, change from P to all gears and finally bring it to rest on P (or N), then while the engine is still running, pull out the dip stick, wipe it with a clean cloth, put it back in, and make sure that the level is between F & E.
