You should look for VZR parts ok not VZR-N1 parts.

Hi Andrew, I am just a bit curious, unless there is something that I haven't read up to now, doesnt Praveen have a VZR N1 ? not a normal VZR, if so what is that dude on about ? Pericles
Don, bugger is missing a wee bit of knowledge on the scenario, and is just blowing off hot air. If he knew jack diddly, he'd know that the only dif between a VZR and and VZR N1 is in the engine, and the other parts are the same. And if he knew how to read, he'd know we are talking about putting gauges from another car into the Pulsar, not getting some sorta uprated VZR gauges. Pericles
Found this on another forum and would like some comments .... Quote But the Civic weighs less, and despite a few less hp has a much flatter torque curve compared to the VZ-R.Its also got a signifcantly superiour suspension design. Not to take anything away from the VZ-R, they are an impressive car, its just that by the time it came out Honda had been useing and refining the same technology for a much longer period of time, in cars since 1989 and on bikes since about 1984. And its VTEC, not that hard to remember as Honda kind of likes everyone to know about it by putting at least once sticker on every car equiped with it. About the only thing the VZ-R has over an SiR/VTiR is exculsivity. They are very rare in comparison, even in Japan. The GTI Pulsar is a much more popular import, the 1.8L engine being better able to pull around heavy pulsar body. The VZ-R was only really built to try and compete with the SiR Civic and GT Corrola in the 1600cc tax bracket in Japan, and to meet homolgation requirments for the 1600cc N1 class racing in Japan, for which the VZ-R N1 was built. With a light weight body, and some wild cams to get it around 200hp its certianly a wild car, but with an idle speed of around 2,000rpm it also shows that Nissan were reaching to the edge of thier experiance to build it, an SiR, or Type R civic with similar engine work will still idle happily at 700rpm. You have to remember that trough most of the 90s Nissan was well and truely on its way to going broke, most of the R&D money targeted for sports models was aimed at the Skyline, 300zx and 200sx/Silvia. If you really want a performance Nissan they are the cars of choice. The Pulsar, while still spectacular, lacks the time and money spent on its much bigger siblings. Honda however have been experiancing a huge boom in growth since the mid 80s, and have almost completly specialised in building small FWD cars, so thier of course able to spend far more time and money on building a sports orintated hatch back, while they have nothing that can compare to the likes of the skyline, 300sx and 200sx/silvia. 1. Can anyone elaborate on the comparative torque curves? I would like to know. 2. IMO, this guy is blowing smoke from his ass with this better suspension thing. Not in my expericene! Comments? Madmax, whats the rating on this vs ur old SiRII that Nadeera is running? 3. What is a VTiR? never heard of that... 4. Def blowing smoke on the 2k rpm idle, coz mine idles at 1.1k I even found a guy selling an N1 on E-Bay! Seriously. Red top and all! $3.5k. No bids and its expired tho. Looks like Ireland is the place to be for N1s
fuzzo
Pericles said: 3. What is a VTiR? never heard of that... The SiR is a Japan, Singapore, Brunei, and HongKong only model. It uses a higher spec version of the B16A delivering 170ps. The VTiR is an export-only model, and uses a slightly lower spec version of the B16A delivering 160ps. Yes well, thats why I say "7 on a good day" On the bright side, there is no increase in rpm when the A/C is switched on. Econo mode: idle 1k, gear change 2-2.3k, cruise @ 1.5k on 5th hmmm, will ask Nigel on the Type-R suspension. I remember the drifting performance at Katu last year Have to see if its standard. Overdrive
Once when i met Imran (the drag starter), he was hanging around this white civic VTi-R. Was pretty cool looking. I think it was a singapore import.

And yes the VzR idles at 1100rpm where as the SiR idles at 500rpm without a problem. In my opinion the SiRII has better handling compared to the VzR as a standard car. When I said SiRII, I meant the EG6 SiR. That why it's still extensively been used in racing today.

Most of the A*W technichians are not aware of the VzR being perfomrance oriented. However there's one or two ppl there who used to work on the VzR when A*W owned it. Better to get one of them have a look at it.

When we went to A*W looking for brakepads for my car and asked for brakepads for the VZ-R the guys at the office tried to send me off the Yahama section coz they thought it was a bike!
