hey ShintaroX how is vitz rs pulling power and acceleration? and what is the difference between 1.3 vitz rs and normal vitz is it just cosmetic mods or both mechanical mods too. :)

Well the acceleration has been great, It could easily top my old Wingroad in that dept. I did a run up through hilly terrain with 3 people (2 large, 1 medium), a full luggage area and more camera gear and baggage on the rear seat and overtaking wasn't a problem at all. The 1000CC has much less power, but can manage, I couldn't take all the noise it made though, so annoying. As I got the car, I was on baseline road and I got to that hill (coming back from wattala on the way to Borella junction, you know it right?), well I was at 40Kmph at the bottom and accelerated to 3500RPM and was at 100 when I got to the top.

The differences are mostly cosmetic, but there are some versions with mechanical mods, for example mine has TRD suspension, but there are others with TRD exhaust, some have tiptronic and throttle sensitivity controls. The non-JDM (Yaris hatchback) has a turbo in the RS version.

All other factors kept constant size of engine translates to the fuel consumption so for vehicles of the same size (weight) fuel efficiency is higher on a 1000cc than a 1500cc. Putting the weight factor, other factors kept constant a heavy vehicle (belta) on a 1000cc engine performs poorly on both fuel efficiency and power than a light vehicle (vitz) on a 1500cc. Generally the belta 1000cc drags a lot and you can feel it struggle a lot when carrying 4passengers on a hill compared to its vitz 1000cc counterpart.

So if I were you I would choose from either vitz 1000cc/1500cc or belta 1500cc. Again doing a lot of city travels is a good factor to consider but remember once in a while you may need to go out of the city and during this one time you will dread your 1000cc and only one time encounter is good enough to make you wanna leave your car on the roadside and walk.

If it was me buying....I would go for belta 1500cc. Enough and more secure boot space, bigger and considerable power.
