  1. Also a testament to how time changes people and we have to move away from something we once loved. The Jeep is with a bunch of teenagers who crashed it bad multiple times and take it to cringe parades and really suicidal tik-toks. Also some of the people involved in this restoration are not on speaking terms. Covid really taught me that everything is temporary mostly.Maybe even family...
  2. Lots to update, but here for a photo-dump. I think the wheels were a good choice. Also Im amazed at how much of a difference de-ricing made it. The Maruko horn was giving issues and one never worked. Looking into fixing it. A Fiamm horn from a new Peugeot 3008 that was for my 508 is temporarily commisioned. Like I said, lots were done including turbo, shock absorbers and such. it almost flies now. Location- Kaudulla Lake/Tank close to Habarana.
  3. Sinopec 95 oct performs much better than ceypetco. Also burns tad faster ( maybe because the car is driven harder because of said performance jump)

    Auto Diesel no difference.

    Any comments guys?

I switched to 92 a long time ago when I realized/read in AL, that it's not much of a difference in terms of fuel efficiency. But it could be a bit purer than 92 and good for the engine. I have no idea if Sinopec is better than Ceypetco though.

  4. So am back in the land of the guns, uncle has a 2022 Honda Pilot that he managed to smash a mirror recently. The dealer wanted over $750 to replace. Found a used one that was the same colour even for 250. Went DIY and it's looking mint. Honda Parts are expensive globally for some weird reason. A Merc mirror replacement cost the same. Is it because Honda is trying to be a "premium" brand?
  5. Last few years most androids had display issues for some reason. Apple had issues on the 13 series with their chinese display supplier.
  6. Doesn’t the Civic have an alarm that goes off when meddled when locked? Also don’t the mirrors fold in automatically when locked? keep an eye on the used part sites, the thief might pop up 😏
  7. Update time- Accelerator cable was jammed somewhat. Reinstalled and works a charm now. Brake pump was replaced. Had a leak. Upper and lower clutch pump replaced- previously the bushes were changed but it still started leaking, So decided to replace the pumps. Bnew Taiwan parts instead of recon jap parts which are real dodgy. Had an oil hose that went to the turbo, leak. Was replaced. Radiator was replaced- unfortunately the whole assembly with the tanks was unavailable. Replaced with browns Radco aluminum radiator and used the existing tanks. No heating issues and no water loss in the morning. Had a coolant hose leak a-bit after repair that has been also redone. in the pipeline- Power steering rack oil seal fix power steering pump fix AC compressor clutch replacement. water ingress to the passenger footwell needs looking into. Dashboard area wiring needs to be redone( it works but is fked up in pure lankan style) Ball joint replacement. Rear leaf spring shackles need replacing. Turbo is on its way out. Thermostat. EGR delete. these are the repairs that are needed initially. with the dash removed for work. current looks /\
  8. Had a Samsung note 20 that went pink all over the screen after an update. Went away on its own after a few more updates.
  9. Very true! Honestly that sucks. A little rarer jdm needs the same attention and money as a euro of similar vintage.
  10. So got the lower and upper arm bushes changed. Real PITA to find parts like these. 4WD parts are rare and priced gouged it seems. Luckily Hyundai H100 shares a-lot of parts with Delica’s. So went that route. Also a bunch of other small bushes and rubbers on the arms were changed. Got the wheels aligned and drives much better. Ball joints were ok at time of repair- but not anymore. So that’s something needs fixing. OEM/Genuine parts are almost nonexistent and even the dupes are pricey. Who tf says japs are easy and cheap to maintain!? Only the buyya fellas it seems. Also changed an alternator belt that was squealing. All the other belts are fine. Took a drive to UK 😅 and met-up @AVANTE for a quick chat! Two very interesting pieces of transportation indeed!
  11. lol 🍃🍀 Actually the US has a strong Delica culture. (They seem to import every last one from Japan. Still cheaper than Sri Lanka even after them jumping all those hoops sadly/oddly) Most of these US owners are into grass smoking and getting high roofed 😅 They also prefer the high roof 🤔
  12. Exactly what I was thinking. It does look nice and chunky. Lmao Correct again, the dealers apparently went all-in on installing these ladders to the flat roof gang. Plus these Terzo ladders were more desirable than the manufacturer item according to a few Delica nuts. You can actually see a-lot of these on flat roofs globally. 😅😅 Fitment and placement is crap I agree. I actually had it removed after taking that picture and had it reinstalled just yesterday. still misaligned. I put it up hours before your reply. I did no research and just got a guy to go-ahead. Google also pointed that mine needs to be more centered. Will get on it asap. Thanks for the confirmation bro. Appreciate it! No problem. Easy mistake to make because info is vague on these sometimes.
  13. Update time! 1.Did some work on the leaf springs. Made creaking noises. Reshaped the springs, greased shackles, and put rubber guards between the springs for sound deadening. 2.The rear passenger door had to be slammed super hard to be closed. Fixed that and adjusted the door. Much better now. 3. The android setup kept getting loose. Fixed it for good. 4. Door trims got some love aka glue. 5. Door stoppers were replaced. 6. Spoiler was not installed because I was kinda not feeling the drilling to attach. Maybe in the future. 7. The belts were checked and deemed good. Tightened the alternator belt because of an occasional squeal. 8. Undercoated the footwell and the engine bay upper bits. Much better sound insulation now along with lesser heat from the engine coming through. Work to be done soon- Lower and upper arm bushes need replacing. Also the rear shocks are worn. Need opinions on this please- This is the ladder that came as an option on the flat roof vans. Below is the ladder that was meant for the high roof which was on mine. Popular mod it seems. Lankans actually prefer this over the oem. The one thats on right now/\ Which one you guys prefer? Got the railing replaced with a chrome part. Turns out the one I had was chrome underneath the blue paint. Oh well! looking clean now!
  14. A user or two mentioned that they do give trouble after few years. One of them got it replaced from D*MO for 3.5 mil about an year ago! Try a c220d. Much better in every way! Except a few options no one needs.
  15. So finally the ladder and roof rack came off! looks much cleaner. But too clean at the back with no ladder tbh. Will try to get a flat roof ladder that was oem. FB groups are really a landscape of wealth and knowledge. The local fb groups have saved me much time and money. Items I would have imported were found for dead cheap in it. Very cool. Specially for JDM vehicles. Another gem I found off a FB post from 2022. The guy still had it. Almost gave it away… came in silver and black. Mines black. the factory specced AM/FM Cassette receiver by National. Very cool. Managed to get one locally. It’s the little things I tell you!
