Guys, I went yesterday. Superb service. I had no documents to take. Just my faded license and my National ID. You need to stand in a que , but its really well organised. They allow people inside , the tokens are given, you go to a counter ( over 35 counters) , there is a digital picture taken, a form is given , you fill the form, go to another counter hand over, pay the money and collect the license after a few hours. I had the same day service. Rs 1700/- for the license + 500 for the same day fee. Took me from 10 am to 2 pm to get it into my hands. No touts / no bribery / no bull***. Hats off to the RMV and the people who managed to get it done, with all the political meddling and mafia etc etc etc Superb job. The fee depends / changes if you have heavy vehicle etc etc obviously. But all well organised. Kudos to all concerned.

Yup Best 500/- bucks anyone who is a car nut can spend. But getting a few Al guys together is the biggest challenge
-
Great news indeed. heard that someone was gonna turn it into a factory ! .... Thank god its gonna be around. Its a nicer technical track than the Mirigama one iMHO.

Name the place, time and the most harrowing thing you thing you can organise and I will be there. ( I am sure some others in Al might take up the challenge too) Ok the Ball as they say is in YOUR court mate.

[My first car in Sl was a Lancer 1.2 litre. Super car. Loved her and regret selling. The guy I got it from had done a full resto n she did not even have a flat tire till the day I sold her (4 years later0 and without the wifey knowing. My wife actually was quite pissed so got the Autozam to cool her off.......it worked for 11 years Lol.

Hey Thanks guys. Yup checked out the posh and normal places. We might have to do a combination thingy. Lets see.

TIME THIS TOPIC HEADING CHANGES NA? Get a shock everytime I see "petrol prices up from tonite" frantically scroll down to see............

[ So looks like we got some nice people who will join up? Shall we plan a trip then? Key points 1) Has to be super accommodation ( no bloody way will anything less than 4 star suffice) specially the loo 2) Refer point 1) = We sooo spoilt now...... 3) Puttalam side as Bugatti says ? Nice roads ...good beaches I guess......Prawns will be cheap so will the crabbies.... 4) With spouses and family. 5) Leave on a Sat morning & back on Sun evening? 6) BYOB. + extra smokes+ Bites + Chasers..... 7) Open to all AL members and their friends . Now the biggest issue is the Date and time as we are going into peak season....... How about the Last weekend of this month ? 28th & 29th ? I am sure we can get a nice crowd from the Mini club, Honda Club, MFOC, and the BMW clubs etc etc C mon mates lets do this.

Bike riding is an attitude I would have to say. Its about you, your machine and the world. Having started off early on bikes (learnt riding a Kawasaki GPZ 125 and a CB 750) using one as a means of daily transport and then for pleasure....there is only one other feeling better than the wind in your face and the instant response. I am sure you guys can guess the other experience.Lol. I too hope to get back to my first love soon.........currently in spouse conviction mode...... GO bikers !

Anyone notice what she's doin to that gear knob lol good stuff.... -
Yup , Shai's right. That price range is for the older A 32 version. The Cefiro I have is an A 33 with the NEO Engine and does 7 regularly, and more outstation. I think that's a fair fuel consumption for a luxury car, and for that price range its a lot of car for the money. When buying one, please check mileage, and overall condition. Spares are not cheap. The lower priced cars I ( from what I saw) were high mileage ones and not all that well maintained. Check rack - end noise, suspension and overall electrics etc. (Mine is a 2001 model which was the end of model year ) and came with illuminated dashboard as well as the height adjustable projection beams. ( The older one 1999 model I had was the normal version) Good solid cars, its a Nissan after all, and very comfy. I would recommend buying one without any hesitation - as long as its use is understood. Good luck

Lol, it don't matter man. The idea is to have fun. The Alfa was GT Am,s and was 2 seconds quicker than the next fastest mazda. The handling was sublime and really shows the sporting nature of the marque. Also it is the 2 liter twin spark version. Cheers

Hi Bugs, From the huge response on the thread I think the enthusiasm is a bit low eh ? or maybe the Thread caption needs to change ? MFOC @ track = not many who think its fun Am trying to get a megabusa ( Still in convincing stage) or another friends westfield.........(Ford engined ) so lets plan and go tear it up.
-
Yup, Rs 1100/- for the whole day. Value for money The track is great. I think once all the work is finished it will be anice one. Hope the owner keeps it open at all times and to all people. We wish him all the very best. Lets all plan a day and go have some fun. The MFOC is surely gonna organise a timed event.......but only if we get enough participants from Al ........
