    Octane You Use??

I guess it only affects on long trips. not much in driving around Cities i suppose. herd someone in the forum say that 95 is got more impurities than 90 can anybody confirm this report. if it's true, it's scary!

    Octane You Use??

It's a Corolla Luxel 122 with 1.8Litre 1ZZ-FE.im normally getting 9-10Kmpl figures in Town and 16 17 outstation cruising (below 3000Rpm). this is of course with 90 Octane. once, i got 18Kmpl with 95 Octane (Driving from Maharagama to Embilipitiya at night). that's the best i got from this car.
  3. It's 2Litre.

    Toyota Kr42

In EFI engines the GAS convertion is bit complicated i guess. this got some informative reading if you want. by the way it's in Sinhalese. the top most part contain info regarding Carburetor conversions, check the bottom part for EFIs
  5. What the hell! if so, u better forget buying a Rexton with 2800CC engine. imagine a Rexton with a 2000CC. lol. this could end up buying cars like 141 Corolla nice car with a small underpowered engine. i agree with the hummers. but this will affect the other vehicles for sure

    Octane You Use??

same story here as well. when there is less gap between 90 and 95 i used to pump 95. now 90 only. there's a slight difference between two when comparin the fuel consumption. but anyway VVT-i engines designed to use with regular gasoline higher than 80 Octane. this i came up with Engine Manual for 1ZZ-FE Engine.
  7. DarkangeL, Machan, here's the number 0722441441 his name is Razmi. fella's location is in pettah. just give him a call an see.
  8. There are few fellas who can unlock iPhones in Sri Lanka. but I'm not sure about the 3G version. ill try to get his contact number. then you might be able to ask him whether it's possible or not.
  9. Well couple of my friends got some real bad experience with MAGC*. i think the best advice is take it to the agents and get their advice.(Vehicle Manufacturer knows better than other fellas) 8-9Kmpl for a Vios with Auto tranny is quite Normal in City Driving.
  10. I always like apple products. Clean unique design of UI and Hardware. but worst part is if you wanna ever to upgrade iPhones firmware (Due to bugs, latest addon features) you gonna have to pay for the upgrade which doesn't happen with Nokia or any other major mobile brands. and other bad (Very Bad) thing is you cant replace the batteries on them. (sure there are ways, but for regular user it's impossible) i think these problems are common for most Apple products like iPods. Compared with Features and above cons, i Always like my Nokia.
  11. No Way!! Imagine all the Jobless Indians will end up in here? it's gonna be Disaster! plus the Maruti factor
  12. Exactly guys, which is i believe the reason that's gone wrong with the all new Corolla 141. New Corolla (Brand New) Used to carry a 1800CC Engine in North American market which is 2ZR-FE with Dual VVT-i (Even in Singapore market still 1800CC version is equipped with Older 1ZZ-FE). i guess this is the Planned original intended Engine for this Structure / Weight. due to Limits of the permit holders and cost, Toyota customized this configuration to suit it to the local market. so finally the Car for the local market end up with 3ZZ-FE 1600CC Engine which not enough for pull that weight / structure. that's why its super low on fuel consumption.
  13. Wow! Love those hinds.. guess they are evacuating DPU operatives from enemy lines.. Miniace, wonder how old those Twin twos?
  14. I think this will depend a lot on the vehicles weight. if it's a small car then a 1300CC would be ideal. (Something Like Starlet). but when it's come to Medium sized Sedans it's a different story..
  15. And I'm pretty sure folks, if this CEPA deal with India gonna succeed, guess we can see so many Marutis on the roads as brand new cars. Anyone knows whether Toyota lanka bringing down 1.8 Liter version of the New Corolla? couple of people told me that new one with 1.6 is very bad on fuel
  16. I'm having a Corolla Luxel (VVT-i) which is a 1800CC Automatic (4 Speed CVT Gearbox) and its doing 8-9Kmpl in City traffic and do around 16-17 Cruising On long trips. For cruising it's awesome car.
  17. Don, How much is the Grand Punto in here anyway? That's a lovely car for a hatch.. Nice design
  18. I think Delon is doing a better campaign against LTTE than Sri lankan Diplomatic buggers..
  19. Welcome to the forum mate!! If you can find a Same car models Manual Instrument cluster then it's easy. recon spare part joints got enough of these, unless the car is very rare model.
  20. Agree with priya. have seen many converted vehicles (Couple of CE100/AE100s and FB15s) with no problem. if the Mech. guy is familiar with the thing, then i think it's not a big issue. if you Converting a gearbox to manual one in CR41/42, then you need to buy Clutch pump, manual gearbox with flywheel, Manual instrument cluster(without those P, D, R letters), ECU (if it's a EFI) gear lever and cables etc..I think best way is to get a diesel auto and transfer it to Manual one.
  21. As ripper said it could be the wire harness. check the wire harness if there any loosen up places in it there is a probability of short circuit. and if there is any Relay in outside. check whether it's grounded correctly. if you can remove the wire harness from both ends, clean it up sockets using Electric contact cleaner.
  22. Yep, if the Vehicle is in good condition then it's a good deal. AE111 is 1600CC (4A-FE) and 110 is 1500CC (5A-FE). is it a XE Vintage or SE Vintage? Check this out for more details... as far as i know. most of the AE111s are later models. corollas are normally better on fuel. but it depends on Driving style. like ripper said...

    Toyota 121 Diesel

As far as i know, your car's powered by a 3C-E (E For EFI) type engine, so yes it's got a Timing belt. i think it's recommended to change it every 100,000 Km. (it should say on a label on Timing belt cover in Engine) if your gonna replace the timing belt, it's advisable to replace all the Idlers (Bearings that Belt holds on) and Oil seals as well. i think you better take your car to the agents and talk to their Service Advisor guys, cos they know better than us about changing intervals.
  24. have seen many Familias and 323s from what i've seen, Ground clearance of 323 is bit higher than Familias, which is great for Sri lankan pot holed roads.

    Eps

As far as i knows EPS motor Draws lot of power out from your car's Battery. that's why the car almost stalled when you try to turn it in full. Lacks power for Ignition. Hows your cars Battery condition? best advice is to check your cars EPS with your cars Agents. because EPS system is still new among our mechanic\Electrician people.
