i have the same car. but petrol smell comes only in the morning. (when Start the engine in the morning, but goes away after couple of minutes). isn't it normal ? i mean when it started first in the morning. (This was same after when i did a Spark plug change and tuneup at Agents).

true that the vehicle is uncommon but the engine must be similar 1300CC engine that used in most of the Lancers which came in those years which your Wagon manufactured. so when you looking, make sure to look for the specific Engine model.

well if the problem with the MAF (Mass Air Flow Sensor) then you better replace it. never heard anyone could repair it so far. why dont you try to find a recon MAF sensor! would be cheaper than those figures..

i guess you better not go for after market Springs for EG8 cos most of them were stiff sports springs that lowered the vehicle than stock springs. how's the Strut mounts? is it the originals or aftermarket crappy ones? try to find Recon Springs from Delkanda area. bottoming even can happen if the shocks were bad.
