    Mazda Demio 2008

Mazda very recently announced a new concept of engine , which will be accomadated in Mazda Damio for the first time ,production from first half of 2011 with 14:1 compression ratio(High lead for Gasoline Engines) and fuel economy of 30 Km/l , without any hybrid combinations- Gasoline only. I think other car manufacurers in Japan will follow it soon.
  3. Is it(BMW) same as the Mazda's system without involving Starter motor ? Many hybrid cars already use this to start/off the combustion engine at changes in RPM with the starter motor. Mazda's technology incorporates first ignite the the correct cylinder (compressed at the last stop) then resulted crank movement to ignite other cylinders using some analysis/action by ECU.Not just involving RPM sensing and then follow conventional actions automatically.
  4. The technology, which turns off the engine at stoplights, then quickly starts it again when the brake pedal lifts, is familiar from many hybrid cars. But Mazda appears to be the first manufacturer to make it widely available on a standard internal-combustion vehicle. Mazdas system differs from previous auto-stop systems in that,it does not use the starter or alternator for restarts. Mazdas system, attached to a direct-injection engine, stops the pistons in the right position, squirts fuel into a cylinder with the engine stopped, then ignites it to start the engine. The engine restarts and reaches idle in a third of a second. Mazda already produces these cars in their BL Chassis (Mazda3- 2010 onward) for 2.0 Liter ,LF-VDS engined for Europe & Japan. The saving on fuel is anticipated at 8 to 15% in cities with heavy traffic jams/more stop lights. In USA this technology is still not adopted and keep in testing for Regulatory advice. For your information. Source: Internet & Mazda
  5. Since the Car is fairly old several factors could lead to this. 1. Incorrect Ignition Timing adjustments. 2. More carbon deposits in the upper chamber. 3. Low Air/Fuel Ratio 4. Sticky or wear in Distributor components 5. Use of improper heat range rated Spark Plugs.
  6. Yes,it has some differences area to area. This is not by the engine itself ,but diffrent ECU programming according to the tight regulations in Emission Controls in respective areas.(Eg: In Europe Mazda3 ,less power). However this is negligable for a driver.
  7. What's the car Make , Model and YOM ?
  8. Yes ,Axela 1.5 engine is ahead around 2HP than 3's 1.6 version. Axela comes with high quality fabric interior while Mazda3 mostly have leather interiors. Also Axela (2004-2009) has rear drum brakes and Mazda 3 has rear disk brakes. Apart from that in most of the countries,Mazda 3/Axelas have 2.0L & 2.3L powered engines. These are not available here due to high tax rates prevailing in Sri Lanka for high capacity engined cars.

    Tire Rod

What is your car?. Hope that these are available. May not be the OEM/Stocks , but the replacement parts Use machined one in a lathe could be end with disastrous results too.
  10. Proton Wira Should be the choice in terms of realiability.
  11. Yes, this is correct, It brings Petty cash for the government .This topic(Import tax Slashed by 50%) has become a total lie. Where & what is 50%. This is a country where people have to pay excise duty on hard metals. What stupid taxation incur in this country !. CD ,VAT, PAL, SRL , ED ,NBT ,Inland Revenue Tax,PAYE , VARIPANAM , MANY MORE TO COME No need to compare car prices OR any other commodity prices . Acceprt as it is. Unless migrate, if you are not willing or live with lie.
  12. This is the very common popular song by car sales people. No sense to purchase these poor build quality Indian cars at these prices !!!

    Urgent Help Needed

Totally not worth. for 301- Car sale people again conducting an exercise in this value region (10 to 15 lakhs) that they have increased the price while prices of other cars including brand new cars are in a move in reducing the prices. Example : Toyota 121 , Mazda Axela already downward about 3 laks. Lokewise prices of other second hand cars also to be down priced. Instead they have increased the price compared to 5-6 month earlier. So avoid this price region (most popular ,easy accessible , many buyers region). Do not encourage them , and go for a FB-15 ,if possible(add 2 to 3 lakhs) , where prices remain same, since this is a another move by brokers (unnecessary value adding elements.)
  14. It seems that High Level Road/Stafford Lane junction Traffic Lights Timings are not correctly aligned with traffic towards Kohuwala from Colombo (in evening peak), big rush near old Vilasitha Nivasa Junction & no control over traffic enter in by roads ( between above said junctions). Apart from those the plan is good.
  15. Loan through banks is the best option. VAT has biggest role and outdates primitive Leasing. If not paid within 5 days from due date they add interests for those 5 days. Relevant authourities in Leasng companys count Saturdays/Sundays which they close for that & say this is a deadly rule of Central Bank,
  16. QUOTE (Killer-B @ Jul 10 2010, 03:14 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think the mazda 3 was made for the European market, if so, there is a possibility it would have come with a 2L engine For the European market they produced 1.4L engine too. Axela came with high quality fabric seats while Mazda 3 with leather. Suspension is exactly Ford Focus/Volvo S40 platform. Early(2003/4) Mazda3/Axela had minor suspension issues later resolved. The car has very good handling ability , but has some road noise ,so be careful in tyre selection. The car is newer in design than T-121.
  17. Tell me sombody from this forum, what are the exact purposes of banning Tinted Glasses in Terms of !!!!! ?. I think it is a stupid decision by authorities of this country who do not provide real , timely solutions.
  18. The name Protege was first found in USA with Mazda BG Chasis in 1989/1990 (first Genreation). After the third generation(BJ),they have terminated producing Proteges instead Mazda3 came. Some Proteges (BJ)were seen in Thailand too.
  19. What actions would take by Inland Revenue Department for politicians , who consumed many miliions probably billions for their luxary at last election ? See , Many American Hummers are roaming in Sri lankan roads as a result. Many new Prados were seen which we never seen earlier. Will they open Tax files for them . The Commisioner of Inland Revenue - over to you!
  20. I really appeciate VVTi's comments on misuse of ATF against manufacturers recommendations. Real fault lie in the importers of Lubricant's (they only think profit margins), probably agents of vehicles too and their narrow technical knowledge of elements(People). As Mr: Wijesinghe said so called pioneers with more than 20 years experience do this same mistake ,by using generic ATF on valuable vehicles. They even not aware the existance of these categories. In my case , I got the correct version from small motor spares shop in singapore ,where in Sri Lanka the Agent of this car doesn't have and they also use a non compatible AT fluid which is availlable in the market in their workshop. Always use Manudacturer Recommended Fluid For Autimatic Transmissions (MRFFAT) , since all ATF are not same and nowadays variations are changing even for same manufacturer for their different models. Most of the car manudactures (not Mob** or Cast** )are producing vehicle specified correct versions in their own name , but probably not available in Sri Lanka. We must avoid the word of ATF which is more than 30 years old in use and must talk about MRFFAT. For your information.
  21. The Generic Term ATF is often misleading today ,since different vehicle manufacturers use different ATFs for their vehicles. For example Toyota (141) & Mazda (3) use/recommend entirely different kinds of ATFs. Even the ATFs of Mazda BJ & Mazda3 BK are not really compatible & not same. Auto service people including so called giants in Sri Lanka do not know these factors and they put same, common ATF on all vehicles. The results will be early ruining of the auto transmissions, delayed response & hesitation.
  22. Yes , problem may be associated to Radiator efficiency. Must check for blockages to outsides air vents of the radiator too. Other factors that should tolarate are incorrect igintion timing , incorrect fuel ratio (low) associated with faluty injectors etc, which tends to rise in temporature in combustion chambers that can transmit to the cooling network.
  23. It is not recommended to replace with used shocks. Use new ones. KYB is generally good. The agent is the Tass Agencies , Hyde Park Corner (Tel: 011-2446415).
  24. You can check (After entering Registration No,Previous Licence No & Chasis No) the above status by varifying from mentioned Companies through Web Services before proceed with the payment. The Payments can be made via major credit cards and a draft copy of receipt will be issued online (to be printed). The Original Certificate will be posted to relevant address.
