Yes, that is correct.

I don't exactly know, but it used to have hard & soft suspension modes. However, I don't have that anymore after upgrading with an off-road suspension & lift kit.

Toyota/Emperor Surf owner here. Fully upgraded, and take it on serious off-road trails regularly. KZN130 which comes with the 1KZ-TE engine. Would not hesitate to recommend but you can't get one in the region of 2mil.

While seatbelts can be used in situations where you have no other option, they are not a good replacement for snatch straps. Snatch straps are specially designed for recovery situations, and extend by about 20%, and displays an elastic action which aids in recovery.

Is this a tow strap/rope or snatch strap? 8000 lb may be ok for towing, but may not be sufficient for snatch strap recovery. My snatch strap & tree trunk protector are both rated 12000 Kg.

2013 Nissan Y61 (Patrol) Diesel Auto-Transmission Advice Before Buying
Az replied to LKRoadster's question in Car Buying Information
On a related not, automatic 4x4s not being good for off-roading is a myth. Autos do just as well, or sometimes even better off-road. This is a general comment, and I can't comment on the Y61 though. -
Thanks for the info. I will go there & try to get it done.

Yes, seat belts are used in recovery situations where you have no proper recovery gear. Does the job, but if you are into off-roading as a hobby, it is best to have proper recovery gear.

Today I noticed that the chrome in certain areas in my headlamp reflector have peeled off. Is there a place in Colombo/Dehiwela area, where I can get my reflectors rechromed?

AC Paul Panchikawatte has rated lifting straps. Those serve as good towing ropes & winch extensions.

Ah, got the windscreen damaged during the annual trip? BTW, the contact given is none other than our forum member, Sylvi.

+1. One of my friend's had a Steinbauer Power Module which increases the torque output, on his Hilux, and it really works, as @Yala has mentioned. It is quite expensive though.

Yeah, in your case since you are only looking forward to replacing your shocks, you can stick with that. To get more details or advice, you can call up the guy who does all my 4x4 upgrade work. Asela Gunatunga - 777714504.

The handling is overall ok. The body roll has increased a bit due to the increase in ride height. The ride onroad has become a bit stiff because my original shocks had selectable soft & hard modes, but you tend to get used to it. Here's my ride https://imageshack.com/i/ey3qU96Wj Sorry for going OT.

99K (Shocks, steering damper, rear coil springs, front torsion bars). This was in November, last year. Prices would have increased now.

A standard suspension upgrade includes changing the leaf springs/coil springs/torsion bars, steering damper (not technically part of the suspension though) & shock absorbers. This generally also results in an increase in ride height. I too have done a full upgrade on my Hilux Surf using all IronMan parts.

My friend has done a full suspension upgrade on his Hilux 106, and is running Rancho shocks, and says the ride is more comfortable on road as well as off road, but the factor to consider is that he has upgraded other parts of the suspension as well.

I also got one Maxxis MT tire replaced under warranty at Ravindra's after it developed a tiny crack on the sidewall.

+1 I really don't understand the criteria for stopping the item at the customs. Once I ordered a relatively small security system siren, and they stopped it. Last month, I got down a pair of tail lights for my vehicle, a relatively large parcel, and it was delivered directly to my home without any taxes.
