    Under-coat the car .,. good investment to protect the undercarrage .

    FIrst find a better mech who cando a head job. find and fix the overheating , check the thermo valve, water pump and cooling fan operation,.. then , as Davy pointed out, replace the head gasket and get thehead pressuretested before refitting. TT.

    Yes it's a big job as the emtire dash has to be removed for hvac box in the middle of vehicle to be taken out. seek experienced mechs or you'll end up with extra parts. And like Davy mentioned,. make sure it is the evaporator is having the leak,.before taking the car apart. Good luck

    How can these cars be compared? they were built8 years apart in differtent countries,..?

    It all boils down to maintenance or the lack of it,..This transmission is a CVT. And therefore , needs maintenance. And the box in question needs more frequent maintence than a conventional 'auto. Those who neglected the fluid changes or put the wrong ATF had their auto boxes resting in pieces,..? TT.
