  1. when, where?
  2. I use them but thankfully not had the need to claim recently. Most companies deduct part of the cost of new parts, it's usually linked to the age of the car. Had claim some time ago (bonnet of an audi) and they offered 25% of price of a new part, since the car was 8 years old (I think). I think all insurance cos are the same that way.

On a slightly related note, the new M5 has been launched in the UK at GBP 73k. That's about 13 million, which rather a lot less than the price locally for a 523i .... how sad is that
  4. yes it is DxxO, 3 models available, advertised in the newspapers
  5. Understand the fee for taking a registration number 3 series later than the current (ie registering a vehicle KP now) has been raised from 7,500 to a whopping 75,000. Surely no one will pay that much for a "special" number so we will go back to the old way of a "chit" system for sure...
  6. hi - can have it emailed to you tomorrow - drop me a note with your email address.
  7. Saw 2 formulas on a trailer outside the Cinnamon grand yesterday, decked out in "Carlton Sports Network" livery - there was some event at the hotel.... any idea who or what Carlton sports network is?

    Montero Resale

Hi all - appreciate some input - I'm looking to sell my 2006 Monero V6 3 liter - I bought brand new, so one "careful" owner - 5 years old, and has done 120k km. Condition is excellent - no scratches dents etc. Any ideas on what this may be worth? Also any suggestions on replacement? Was looking at the new Sorrento but since the Hilton has started using them as taxi's they've lose their appeal!
  9. Campaign - "Make Roads Safe" is being launched by Ms Michelle Yeoh and Jean Todt, President of the FIA. j********i Insurance will Partner the CMSC to make the awareness campaign a reality. Be there in front of the Art Gallery 22nd December at 9 30 am and see well known racing drivers endorse road safety.
  10. saw this outside the cinnamon lake a few day ago with the owner inside the hotel.... looked for the smurdhi officed tied to a tree but sadly coundn't see him ..

  12. oh the one i used was the same delightful shade of green..... minus the accessories that were at the launch though.... Was in India recently and was in a Toyota Innova which looks kinda like the Avanza, but it way different, and actually quite a nice ride - even in the third row...
  13. Hi I used a Toyota Avanza a few days ago and have to say it is undoubtedly the most uncomfortable car on earth. Was in the back (middle row) and felt every bone shake. It bounces like you would not believe. Checked tire pressures, and drove it on the way back and that makes no difference even the front is just awful. There is a thrid row but I hate to think what that must be like..... Had 4 in the car so can't say the ride was poor as there was no weight in the car. Would like to know if anyone has a differing view - is the one I used a one off are are they all the most awful cars on the road. I guess the price reflects the drive ... The only saving grace was 12km/l on a reasonably hard drive.....
  14. Micro and Maserati ..... two names you wouldnt normally use in the same sentence.....or inthe same showroom
  15. shame the car was totalled. smiled when i saw the blacked out number plate..... likes there's that many of them around.... haven't seen the khamsin on the road but gather its in good condition, 300 dash number. Interstingly that car used to have a 12 sri number when it was originally in sri lanka (12 sri 1221 I think)

    Vehicle Insurance

Apparently the law is now that you need to report an accident to the police if you want to make a claim. I had a small ding caused by a bus who tried to push me off the road - the on the spot guys came and did their bit. I sent the car to the garage (it's on a lease so I'm not the owner) they refused to repair it under insurance as I'd not made an entry - apparently its on the fine print of the on the spot form. Went to the police station the next day (cause the accident wasn't in town) and was told that if I made an entry then, the police would prosecute me for not reporting an accident....(although I was stood there wanting to report the accident) Eventually sorted it, but also checked with a friend in the insurance field - apparently they are required by law to send the police a list of all claims that hve been made, with a note sto sy whether a police entry has been made.... so now you need to wait half an hour for the on the spot guy, and then go make an entry... what joy....
  21. Hi all - the KF series Red NSX is still around - it's parked in the crescat car park (the apartment car park) so I guess the guy lives there. Looks quite smart, I didn't realise the car had been in an accident.
  22. Hey thanx Rukster - you did it at Pre***e ? Not a bad price and the results sound pretty impressive.
  23. thanx.... Ive found that if I dont use 95 octane the engine runs quite rough .. is this normal?
  24. hi guys I'm in the process of acquiring a 2002 525i (E39) with 90,000 miles on the clock. It's been looked after first by agents, now at Kelaniya. Cleaning the injectors sounds like a good thing to do, but not being mechanically minded I cant pull them out. Would Pres**** be worth it? Doubt they will only charge 8k, as it usually costs 5k before they've touched the car :-)
  25. there's a red mark 1 Capri parked by the side of the road - past thalawathugoda junc, heading towards high level road - just as the road narrows somewhere after Austasia, near JAT holdings / petrol shed. Doesn't look like its moved in years though...
