in jumpstart...when u rev up the car used to jumpstart the other...the revving wud make chargin increase n then put less strain on that car's battery... n yah bout the voltage being higher when engine is running more than idle...is ok cos as that description by Miniace says...u need a high voltage to charge the battery as voltage flows from higher level to a lowe level...

talkin bout SL immigration...they forgot to enter the details to the comp though they stamped my passport when i was leavin SL for studies and when i gt back for vacation the guy at the desk was like ur details arent on the comp n then talked wth the other person nxt to him n asked so much q's and one question was 'are u sure u went thru here'. i tld yes n that someone did stamp my passport n then had to go to a higher officer n they checked my uni ID card and more checks and said its ok n to enter the details then. So some officer forgot to enter das stuff n i had a delay of like 20~25 mins jus because of that and thats also comin back to ur own country lol. journey to SL was in SL airlines n it was ok (it was mostly empty) but the service was rubbish frm CMB to uk. 1st time to Uk i used Etihad n i hav to agree that their service is extremely gud.

I agree with u. bth the brand plus the car needs respect...speacially in SL many new ppl dont even know about FIAT...all they think is that its the crappest cars out of all...One problems is FIAT was never properly marketed in SL...but wel once u use one of them u will begin to love it...

the JT641's we used, did like 10~12km per ltr (wasnt in middle of colombo traffic though)...but outstation did like 16~17km/ltr. JT641's got a 1.8ltr engine wth turbo. One more point is cleaning the intercooler regularly would give better pickup cos with worn out engines, oil tends to get collected in there. Yah the electrical stuff is a bit complex... Some 641's got all electronic controls for ac n ventilation levels as well. (seen one wth cable control so i think some only got the auto option). Even though the 641 is bigger than the 600, its not hard to drive at all. I started driving wth a 641 n didnt have any problems. Max rpm on the 641 is 6k n red region is frm 5.5k the turbo used to giv the most power jus after 2k. even if ur on the 5th gear n pass 2k rpm u wud feel the pickup.

Looking at the license num n price, I assume this is a JT641 model u r talking about. As wth the current prices I think 800k is ok cos other similar vehicles are always higher than a gemini. We have used 2 JT600's (smaller model - one 32 n one 64) and also 2 JT641's. Both the Jt641's were full option, turbo n manual. About the engine wear n tear...people say many things about gemini engines wearing out faster than other diesel engines but i think its not a big issue. Engines could be bought or rebuilt as well...about 2 yrs back a recon engine could be around 50k to 60k n i thnk similar prices for rebuilding as well. (one of our JT641 had a worn engine but v used it like that for 2 yrs n never ever gave any kind of starting issues, and acceleration wasnt bad either...v rnt sure whether the engine was repaired on the other one when v bought it, but it had better acceleration and never had any engine issues for the 2 yrs v used that. Also did a lot of running on that car) Oil needs to be changed frequently. Ive never heard bout that gemini engines catch fire randomly and I doubt it would happen as i ve never experienced it wth 4 gemini's One thing that could be a pain could be the burning out of the alternator. But its not a big deal if u get the thing done by a proper electrical place where they would check things as the heater timer and other electrical components wthout just repairing the alternator only. Its easy to figure out a prob wth the alternator cos once its not wrkin, the blower n ac wud stop as well as the lights on the instrument panel wud b left on even when the engine is running. ( a fuse cud also giv the same situ but a simple check on that wud let u figure out wht the prob is...) About parts...mechanical parts can b bought at many places i think n there are matching parts wth other brands. Body parts can also easily b found on recon part stores.(eg: a door wud b like ~3k. one tail light - 2.5k..boot lid - 4k...) About mechanics...i dont knw much.. (my father used to do take care of the repairs himself as he is in the auto field) About 2nd hand value...its kind of hard to sell gemini's to b honest but ppl who have used one b4 always prefer to buy one again. The JT641 model is a really comfortable model with gud acceleration for a diesel. Very easy to drive. Its got 4 disc brakes as well meaning easy to stop as well hehe. I personally like the car very very much. Just saw the post by 'LAKSHANK' reagarding his comments. Yes as all diesel vechiles..gemini does give out smoke but it depends on the engine..if the engine isnt bad...smoke does come only when u r accelerating..(well this cant b used to check the engine state as even a gud engine does give out smoke when revved) about the noise...if a recon engine is used to replace a bad engine...there wudnt b much noise..but rebuilding cud give a noisy engine if not done properly. Parts need not b bought from the agent as its really expensive frm them.

the modded version is more stable due to its width as well...(lower Center of gravity)

mahindra bolero is the jeep. there is a truck version wth the same front (think its load carrier). Scorpio is the bigger version and there is a double cab version of it as well. the latest scorpio looks nice (one version of it comes wth spinners lol!!)

well it is said that, that certain model has that startup issues (the 2~3 second thing). so i think that startup issue got nothin to do wth the power supply. But do u think the power supply can have an effect on the CPU fan rpm? gihan, wht i mean is while the temp of the CPU is ~31~34 range, the fan doesnt need to be on full power. The first few days wth the new board it was fine but this prob developed afterwards...actually cud hear the fan screamm...rpm is 4700++ when checked thru the asus probe. Well i did think there were probs wth the power supply cos sometimes the cd-rom wasnt detected. anywayz let it b like that cos maybe i need to upgrade the whole machine later...

Hey are u sure Asus is good? Asus seems to be really down with the quality now. Recently I bought an Asus mainboard and its jus a load of rubbish. (mind u i got it frm the agent in SL for it lol) got a replacement but its the same faults wth it. The tech's at that place say that its 'NORMAL' for the board but it shudnt be lol. for that mainboard the machine turns on for 2~3 seconds( hard disk, fans n all), on switching the main power and then turns off till the button is pressed for booting up. plus the sound jacks at the back panel are all messed up...doesnt recognise the primary slave IDE slot....cooler fan now running on fullll speed though SPU temp is 31~34C (its a 2.0Ghz processor)...dunno wht other probs that would come accross... so check well b4 buying one...and check on reviews for the parts u want to buy

hey...dont u have a cd writer on ur laptop? i think if u get one of those IDE to USB cables you could connect your cd writer frm you desktop as an external drive to your laptop. I use one of those to connect a desktop hard drive as a usb drive now. only thing with a cd writer used through a cable like that is the speed of burning the disc has to b a lower speed otherwise can mess up the disc. if u need i cud giv you details as to wher u can get a cable...(it comes wth a power supply which is needed for a IDE device).

mmm...well i think the gamea are ok...not that great... each have like i thnk 11 or somthin missions to complete and they are based on a storyline. in the second game, KITT had a laser, missiles, plasma gun and also battery packs that need to be charged as part of the game hehe.

hey, yah there are 2 games actually. Knight rider and Knight rider 2. the video in that link is another video for the 1st game actually. I ve played both of them as well. By the way I dont think thats April in that pic...cos on the knight registries site they thank the guests n the other person ther had taken part in 2 episodes. (well thats wht i think)
