  1. You mean why aren't ESs being raped on the same scale as previous generations? It's because cars have become more expensive since then in general. You can barely find a stock EG8 because they were the first to go in the early 2000s after that silly movie came out. Then they started on the EKs, but only until prices crossed the 1.7 million threshold.
  2. Don't forget the 3 cylinder BMWs. And also, it's only the 4WD Vezels that have gone down in price, and it was already a pricey car to begin with, not many came down.
  3. Importing toys and models aren't a problem. Even tiny RCs aren't an issue. And they're rather relaxed with land based RCs anyway, it's multicopters and other aircraft with cameras they're on the lookout for these days. I don't even attach the camera gimbal to mine anymore, a friend and i got stopped once while driving home after our flying activities when a traffic officer on foot happened to see our aircraft in the cars.
  4. I follow my gf home when we're out late to make sure she gets home safely, and srsly, she thinks the lines on roads are merely for decoration. I've given up on advising her how to drive, suffice to say when we ride together it's always my car or I drive her's.
  5. There are a handful of 1.3 and 1.5 regular versions running around in SL. The 1.5s have a start/stop emblem where ours have the Hybrid emblem; those without any emblem are usually the 1.3 models.
  6. So the Aussie RAV4 owner's manual states that the car might run rough if the car is started up and driven a few feet, shut off, and started again. Is this real? A friend had gotten his vehicle towed to the dealer after it was running like shit, and this is the explanation they had given him. There's a whole thread dedicated to this on the whirlpool forums.

  7. It should be possible to epoxy it in place and then solder it separately. That glue you linked to is a silver based epoxy, but for the price, I dunno. Could you post a picture of the heating element where the tab broke off, and tab itself?
  8. How would this affect insurance policies? For example a friend purchased an X-trail for 8.5 a few weeks ago. Will he need to revise his policy to reflect the new market price in case the car is totalled?
  9. Can't wait to see how much a leaf will cost now. Might actually be within my reach.

Ha ha! Good luck machan. I'm happy for you

  10. 2000 rupees for every cubic centimeter between 1000cc and 1500cc.
  11. irrelevant. thought the 2.5 was a 1jz and was about to rejoice.
  12. Stuff like this makes me LOL all day long. You're supposed to take the average reading, not the reading of one trip.
  13. After selling off my Galaxy S6, I paid 70k by hand, total cost 110k.
  14. <disclaimer> the following paragraph is aimed at no one in particular, just my 0.002 on how the thread has progressed </disclaimer> You know, I think we need to check ourselves before flaming people; this is a forum about cars, and like it or not car taxes is a big deal to the majority of potential buyers. Having said that, rumour mongering is always frowned upon here, therefore it's safer to use one's status update for discussions on such things rather than creating a thread and inviting one's self to scrutiny (and flaming if a credible source isn't/cannot be disclosed). True when the thread was made, there were bigger things to worry about, however I did not see a single post related to the floods nor flood relief. So you know... glass houses and all that.
  15. So I got a Galaxy S7 Edge a month ago. And while it's only a marginal improvement over the S6, the biggest and most important improvements (to me) are the battery life and camera; I use this phone from 6:30 onwards, while on the bog, then plucking a flower or three while on the road, emails et al while at work, connected to 4G, Wifi and Bluetooth (car and watch), and I still have over 40% at home, which is usually good for another 8-10 hours when checking the battery life estimate on the phone. If anyone has an S5 or older phone, this is the one you need to upgrade to. I won't touch on performance, since even the S4 is still a good performer once you get rid of Touchwiz or install Cyanogenmod.
  16. When did TATA buy out BMW?
  17. No it depends on coverage. There's a flood damage clause in the insurance policy. If you ticked it, then good for you. If not, sorry.com
  18. Don't try to solder those yourself if you're not familiar with soldering SMDs. A heat gun has to be used with that setup or you might lift the pads from the PCB and make it FUBAR. Try and get a hold of a phone repair guy who does board level repairs (most guys these days swap out faulty power regulators and the like on new phones with ease).
  19. The good thing is that this all affects ROW markets. I don't think JDMs are affected, since I'm sure sepukku is involved if they're caught cheating their own.
  20. There's also a new place near where I live, in Thalapathpitiya. At least I think there's someone who fixes BMWs, because at any one time there's at least 6 of them there. \
  21. Any competent garage can do a timing belt change. When I owned my van, all 3 changes were done by him and there was never any issue.
  22. The only reason to upgrade to fiber for us home users would be the connection stability, from the lack of analogue attenuation, loose connections and other things a copper wire is associated with. And hopefully SLT will eventually allow for HD voice calls as well. Netflix is pretty good, I've got the basic 7.99 package and I prefer it to the HBO channels we get here.
  23. Alfa 164 on the quick site. I presume someone is familiar with it?

  24. "Haice" driver thought since both vehicles are of equal height, ain't no thang for it fjord through like its Toyota brethren ahead. Only that he forgot to take into account that the Hilux's exhaust is sitting much higher _and_ it has a trap of sorts to resist water ingress.
