  2. happy birthday mate! have a good one
  3. i was driven through it some 13 years back. i've never been more ecstatic about a road and its views. plus everything looked a few times bigger cos i was rather small
  4. i won something so unmemorable i cant remember what it is now. and it was rubbish too. so i couldnt be bothered to collect it
  5. what happened to bel way? im gutted how it changed the whole drama of getting past that big traffic jam in the evenings. sorry im just a bit sentimental about these things. has anyone got pics of the nugegoda flyover? cos i didnt see anything after october anyhoo going through the various speed limits that are to be implemented on those so called expressways i couldnt help but wonder what sort of police oppression could we expect. i mean i doubt those speed guns work past 120 km/h
  6. i would have not liked u as much had u crashed into our house that night spot on mate! i knew it starts at ginigathena, but couldnt remember where it leads to. my dad drove our family through that road in a noah many many years ago. sitting on the passenger seat of a not at all sporty car i still felt the excitement of a great driving road on that stretch. the view wasnt half bad either
  7. i'll give you a hand with the metalwork if i get back on time
  8. well done! you may post next
  9. driving through nawala road is quite a spine tingling prospect at times. my dad still tells me stories of how cars used to come crashing into their driveway at the bend close to kirimandala mw. anyways since we are talking about scenic road has anyone noticed that you get a great view of colombo here n there while driving along nawala road? i could see further than bmich from our old house. i think only hill street in dehiwala comes close to offering a better view. by the way has anyone caught a glimpse of adam's peak driving up the overhead bridge at dematagoda on early spring mornings? its a truly majestic sight
  10. can you please explain these methods gearhead? this is something i would usually overlook
  11. i wouldnt say its gonna leak oil in ur garage. but it wouldnt be as bulletproof as a prado
  12. in that case u should use aluminium like in a land rover and bolt them with big pop rivets to get that pseudo military look
  13. they are all very good roads but for me nothing beats the route from matale to wasgamuwa through the knuckles range
  14. its not a 2 door but you are close
  15. used to see one of these on my school run a few years back
  16. mitsubishi dion?
  17. that is a bit worrying. but then again i doubt we can find any completely original series land rovers in sl anymore. see if it drives normally. as long as it looks original from the outside i dont mind. as for power steering i think u are better off with it.
  18. landy meet??? i'll make my appearance in my vitz
  19. i hope you give some priority to driving dynamics as well (and lots of big fog lamps) so it can pull of the old trick the defender does, the a to b across colombo in 15 mins
  20. bingo!
  21. something about it doesnt look right to me now that i'm looking at it 4 years later
  22. i'd go with somethin like this but hey thats just me
  23. i think this is the one you are talking about tharindu (took this back in '05) there's a huge bunch of them around yala. i remember the original auto vision doing a special on them 8 or 9 years ago. so they should be still running
  24. brilliant mate! keep it original. i'm a big series 3 fan myself. its nice to see one being saved from the jaws of "depender-ists". if you need to locate some parts from the uk let me know.
  25. i watched the disaster movie cos i could enjoy watching hannah montana getting killed. but actually i lost the will to live myself after seeing that film
