  1. Well the Mito is definitely not the best looking Alfa. However in the metal it looks a lot better. Many Alfas and other Italian cars don't look great in pics but they look great in the metal. I'm sure Zonda can comment on this better. A good example is the Lancia Delta. I thought it looked like an MPV in pics. But when I saw it in the metal it looked stunning!!!!

I think he mixed the blue with the left overs from the Fiat 600 and the 1100 that he did up before. Anyway its quite close to the original colour if you look beneath the door cards.

Congrats Milindu. The body was styled by Bertone. Was tempted a few times by this car myself. Even went for a test drive! Luckily sanity prevailed. Devinda you're spot on. There was a Supercharged option with 135bhp as well. However the 132 is more of a Luxo model with a soft ride. The GLS came with factory Air con, PS and P/Windows. The coolest part of this car though are the sun shades. Milindu why don't you elaborate.....
  7. The guys who advertised it are well known fibbers in the Italian car circle. Yet I phoned them and they insisted that the original rotary motor is intact. Mileage said to be an incredible 60k km.
  8. I know CHAP's friend. Uses the car on a daily basis. It's a twin carb version He gets around 9km/l. Some parts are quite hard to get and the agents are not his best pals as they seem to look down on older cars. He had issues with the brakes for a very long time and its an inherent weakness of the car according to him. I like the styling and the handling. Dislike the crashy ride, engine noise and feel-less steering. It's reasonably quick but the revs need to kept high as the power is in the top end. Redlined at 8k rpm! Low down torque is not great. Many cars have been messed around with so search hard until you find an unmolested one.
  9. Oh must have been the thirst for fuel? Or there must have been about a minute of turbo lag..... Those old school turbos.... could be scary

And why is all this in the Toyota section ??
  11. Was it a GSR? What does your dad say about it?
  12. Talking of ugly cars and Nissan, how about that Jag Mk2 March? Strange how they seem to have suddenly gone missing. Not seen one in ages. Not complaining though
  13. Any of you MFoc-kers checked out the Savanna Convertible that was advertised in the papers? Any thoughts on that?
  14. Bravo Zonda. Tell me are you in Italy right now? I understand the courses are conducted in Italian?
  15. Yes another horror.
  16. I did not realize that there were Mk3 two doors until recently someone spoke about one. Can't recall who...... Btw I see a white Ford Taunus fast back in Biyagama. It's got the obligatory Japanese diesel conversion but the body seems good.
  17. Well in my view its extremely painful rather than boastful xXx. I can write a book about what I've gone thru with mechanics, tinkers, painters, electricians etc. I'm sure that I would have had a lot more money now if I was not crazy about these cars. Unfortunately or not I happen to be and well its done. Anyway last Sunday I had a blast with the Alfetta at the Classic Car Club run. Pushed it a bit for the first time and scared my passengers who were rolling around in their seats. That drive was enough to neutralize my 4.5 years of torturous anxiety in restoring it. Mind you its still not 100% complete. little bits more. The MR2 is more of an everyday car (I actually go to work in it in "that" state ). I won't "Restore" it. I'll just get it into decent shape and enjoy the drive. Its nice and fast and its got brilliant handling, but somehow it fails to fire a passion in me like the Alfas . My advice to anyone who takes on a restoration, don't do it unless you have a LOT of patience and are crazy enough to put in money even when you're running low.
  18. Ha ha Still too cold. Ascend on the letters descend on the numerical s . Anyway don't worry hopefully all will be revealed soon!! Can't say anymore, Prad might run me over in his Land Rover
  19. I'd like to add the last BMW 7 series and the current X6 too.
  20. Not sure how I missed this. Great work Zonda, congrats and sincerely hope you'll get that schol. That design would make a great Lancia I think.
  21. A little lower number Ripper

DSG - Direct shift Gearbox (twin clutch). Mind you there is no clutch pedal It's the best innovation in recent times IMHO. This is a manual gearbox with zero lag as opposed to Tip-tronic type auto boxes. It is the future (at lest in terms of performance cars.) TDI - Turbo Diesel Intercooler TSI - Twin charger (Turbo and Super Charger) Petrol. But the GTI has neither. Just a 2.0 Turbo. I think the Scirocco you're referring to is called the 20R. No idea about costs. Get on a few Aussie forums and check.
  23. Sri-Lak, Here's my 2 cents worth, Just get rid of the thing . It's not a classic, neither is it ever going to be. If it was in poor shape when you first got it and has Corolla bits on, it's going to be a costly nightmare for you to locate, purchase and ship stuff here. Then there's the question of putting it all together. At the end of the day you would have spent a shed load of money on an ordinary car. The Cosworth is quite a specialized performance machine. It will be even a bigger task to convert it. If you are crazy over a Sierra then that's fine, if not just sell it.
  24. Prad how about slotting in a highly tuned TT Mazda Rotary in there ??
  25. Good race. Ferrari did reasonably well at last. Kimi messed up his start or else might have been 2nd. Or could've challenged for lead if the pit stop went well.
