  1. For a moment I thought this guy was a guerilla marketer of some sort for D*MO
  2. 'Mr. Wijesinghe', Appreciate if you could read and understand the OP's question before you give your valuable and expert misinformation. Crosswind @mazda axela - NDB had a promotion for permit holders few months back. I'm sure they can work something out. All the best.
  3. What next? 22 karat gold Bajaj three wheeler? Only pindians can think of something like this
  4. get it from Wurth Lanka or one of their resellers
  5. Could a moderator please remove the bl**dy Facebook status autoupdate from Autolanka?

    1. Reckless

      Reckless

look at that comment from cherryboy - Mamma Bey Papa Jay!! LMFAO!!! :D

  6. @peri - machan I had that doubt too so I checked with Swedish. They confirmed that the dials are in miles. Was yours a B/N? Recons were in kms.
  7. Does the 2009 one have black Proton badges or a blue badges? If its the black one, then its the final facelift of the Gen2 with the Campro CPS engine. I personally would say 2 mill is a decent price for the car. Having said that, try negotiating. Note that the meters of B/N imported Gen2s are in MILES not Kilometers. A 2006 Manual one for 1.7 also seems ok but personally I will be biased towards the 2009 one. If you directly expose the car to the sun, the dashboard tends to fade a bit. Try to park the car in a shade always or use a sunfoil.
  8. @sylvi - thermostat is working fine. @maheshw/miniace - I didn't consider the possibility of a head gasket leak, because 1. the radiator coolant has no sign of oil or rust and 2.exhaust has no sign of smoke. let me try the things u guys mentioned to see if I can locate the problem
  9. Yup. Quite a lot of steam.
  10. Forgot to mention. Fan works ok. Already checked.
  11. The engine of the Chevy heats up and the coolant level in the radiator reduces, even after driving for like 10kms. From what I understand, it could happen due to a leak or a block in the radiator itself, a problem with the radiator cap or a leak from a hose. Could someone help me to isolate the exact problem? What are the other possibilities that could cause this? Pls note: I can't source a spare radiator cap. The car is a 2004 one so I don't expect the engine to be culprit. Thanks in advance.
  12. I suggest keep an eye on the AL classifieds and also the notorious Sunday paper. However, a 2007 (or even a 2005) might not be easy to get hold of, for your budget. As far as I know, they tend to go in the 1.7 million range.
  13. Both are not made with fuel economy in mind, so if that's your concern, look for a AE100 instead. Hmatic (sonata) is not a bad vehicle if properly looked after, but when it comes to luxury, Cefiro is way ahead. But the HMatic will be at least a good 300K cheaper than the cefiro. On the other hand, XG25, a car related to the sonata but looks much better. If you want to go for a Cefiro, look for a Japanese made S-Touring. Avoid the Singapore imports. If you are going for a Sonata, try to find a brand new imported one (tough task).
  14. Hang on a minute.... the name looks like it's been mentioned in this thread... did u get any compensation for your vehicle?
  15. Ok here's the number of Sumana Motors then. Saves the guy a trip. 011-2433312
  16. Wira is based on one of the old Lancers (CB8 I believe). Many Lancer parts fit in. In addition to that, there are people who stock Wira spares, so u wouldn't find it too difficult to source spares. Prices aren't too bad either. Fuel efficiency would be around 8-9km/litre on average for a reasonably maintained 1.5/1.6 auto tranny car. You might be able to pick up a H-series one for about a million. Try bargaining.
  17. isn't he looking for body parts? does Sumana/Kuruppu motors stock body parts too?
  18. Not the easiest task. But I can think of the following: 1. try to tinker the damaged part as much as possible 2. try 'watte' in panchikawatta. if you don't know the location, go to panchikawatta/maligawatte road roundabout and ask anyone. 3. go scouting along kandy road, look for another car which is rotting away and try to buy it off the owner 4. and if u r really desperate, try making a trip to jaffna, where u can still find plenty this model on the road.
  19. Oh damn.... the sun that kept burning for millions billions of years is gonna run out of gas one fine day and we are all gonna wake up as zombies FYI... the sun does not 'burn'. It goes through nuclear fusion where hydrogen atoms become helium and releases massive amounts of energy in the process. And if I remember properly, the sun can go on for another few billion years like this and thereafter, it will go through a process of a slow death, which will probably last another billion or two years.
  20. Don't u think the Batmobile could be exempted from that rule?
  21. If comfort and acceleration is your priority, my vote goes for the Axela from the above list.
