    @danuja any reason you have opted to buy from a car sale and not directly from an individual/personal user? Colour me skeptical but I personally can't seem to shake that feeling that most car sale folks have done some kind of juglery on a car I hope you are getting an indepentant / 3rd party assesment at a reputed garage with a scanner or a Toyota Lanka condition report or a CarChecks inspection before buying. A test drive of the car will reveal a lot as well. If a seller is reluctant to oblige with these things, it begs a question as to whether or not they are trying to hide something?

    @thusharak340 i've bought various parts (a Bosch Horn), additives, cleaning products etc from them and have been happy with the service. Yes they do offer some good rates on tires but make sure you get a written confirmation with pictoral evidence if possible of the week & year of manufacture of the tire (which is stamped on the sidewall) Generally tires have a 5 year life span so make sure that you aren't buying old stock as rubber hardens, cracks and deteriorates over time. If i were you I would not be willing to accept anything other than something made in 2019. It's a tedious process but sometimes I've managed to get competitive rates from the local agents/importers directly but there are others like Douglas & Sons who will not deal with retails buyers at all. What brand and size are you looking at buying if you don't mind me asking? Some popular dealers like U&H on Malay Street might be able to swing you a deal/price match and offer free value additions like free wheel alignment & balancing etc. I think http://tyrebass.lk/ has started offering mobile service as well now

    @shansilva that's a good question seeing as these coatings are all the rage these days! Do they actually work?? Is it only worth the cost and effort when applied on flawless brand new car paint work? Do these coatings have a life span? Does it deteriorate based on the number of wash cycles or the strength or characteristics of the cleaning products used What effect does it have if say someone has to touch up the paint work? There was a place in Kohuwala that offered something called a "Polymimetic Coating" - is that a real thing/specialised technology or just some creative marketing speak? ?

    I know what Abans aftersales is like to deal with when it comes to electrical appliances so if that anything to go by i pity anyone who gambles with buying a car or bike from them ?

    @matroska also isn't the brand new Toyota Lanka imported petrol 141 a 1.6 with a normal automatic Vs the 1.5 CVT on the Axio? As you rightly mentioned these were bought mostly by civil servants or professionals so there is a fair chance of actually finding a carefully used, perhaps even agent maintained specimen. So in effect @Thilinadinith the Axio may just give the perception of (false) economy in the long run when you factor how the vehicles has been used. There were also some manual (2C?) diesel 141's that were brought down on permits (university lecturers)

    @shirand LiquiMoly products are exclusively made in Germany and are of good quality so I would not expect any negative effects as it is designed for this very purpose for automotive use. Admittedly I haven't used the marderspray itself but i've been quite happy with the performance of a number of their products, specially the Ceratec additive.

    It's mighty conscientious of you to be proactive on this but I'm just wondering if it might be overkill? I don't know if the GP1 has an in tank filter but most cars do have a filter of sorts fitted to the submersible pump. Have you checked the fuel pressure and noticed a drop over the manufacturer specified levels? If not, then perhaps some fuel system cleaner and a petrol filter change might be sufficient rather than having to get in to petrol tank
