The mistake you made is not calling them then and there. They rag the hell out of you (asking for police reports and estimates and what not) if you don't report the incident as soon as it occured. A very similar incident happened to a friend of mine and he even had to submit a letter to SLIC stating the reason for getting late to report the incident.

The only "face" you need to be thinking about right now is your car's, not yours. What's wrong with your face that makes you think that the sellers will quote you high prices anyway? And you yourself explained how a friend of yours went from shop A to B to C and finally settled for a price from another shop. If he hadn't gone to all those shops, would he have known that 26,000 was the lowest he could ever get it for? You need to do the same.

You're right, it does have a 4G63 so it's got to be front wheel driven. The original A72 was rear wheel driven. On a side note, I remember reading an article about this car on a local Sinhala newspaper and he says that one of his motivation factors was that when he had this dream of modifying his old Lancer, his so called friends have made fun of him and have said that the idea will get him nowhere (this should be back when he was just a mechanic). I guess what drove him was mostly his motivation and not the experience or his designing skills. I just wish he hadn't destroyed the "soul" of that good old Lancer A72. Sigh!

Or you can pop the bonnet and check the hydraulic unit. If it's got an ABS ECU (a module with a large wire harness running into it), you will be able to see it attached to the hydraulic unit.

That's probably right because I know for sure that he owned a baby blue coloured riced up Mazda Axela. And this Lancer seems OK compared to that because even the interior was totally baby blue and white on the Axela. About the modification, the Lancer EX comes with a circular fuel tank lid, but this has the squarish lid of an Evo X. Who on earth would go through all that trouble... messing with the quarter panel so much for example? After seeing that I was so convinced that this is an Evo... until I saw the rivets on the side skirts and rear bumper. <facepalm>

Bajaj Crystal Lite Roof A shovel actually looks OK compared to a giant safety pin. I read this many times and got it as "TOPLESS DRIVING". Discovered later that there is an "S" in front in a different font. Hence "Stopless Driving"

I'm still finding it hard to believe that it's a conversion... If so, the mod was done perfectly and it had to be finished with baby blue... some people have very strange taste.
